I trained hard for 4-5 years. got some good results. But two things i truly underestimated was
1. What goes into my body ( food, supplements etc )
2. The importance of good rest, and how to recognize the signs within myself that point to overtraining.
the main takeaway is, if you combine this workout with a healthy diet and good rest, the results will be far better than without. I know this is common sense but fuck me i underestimated it at first. Happy new years men, have a good one

And I know it’s mostly for beginners or what not , but smith machine squats definitely not the best actually wouldn’t recommend whatsoever , plus not that great for your back etc. it forces your spine into an unnatural position

Overall, spanian gives out good advice but in all seriousness try not to use a Smith machine for things like a squat. A Smith machine creates a fixed bar path (you can see the bar just moving up and down) forcing your body to adapt to the machine - this can result in poor form and increased chances of injury.
You can also see Spanian's elbows are behind his shoulder (behind his plane of motion - so theres increased chance of injury and damage in his shoulder and elbow). Overall, back squats are quite tricky and can be dangerous, a front squat is much safer and also targets different muscles (more of the quad and muscles in the front of your body). Smith machine makes it much worse
the optimal bar path is straight up and down
@@bollyhood4475 It's not because your body isn't moving straight up or down. Doing a squat your body will be slightly leaning forward (if the barbell is on your back), so your body will move upwards at an angle. So, you're wrong.
