My best tip is to buy a mint 7.5 Golf R. It has some touchscreen tech... but has real buttons, knobs and switches to use without having to take your eyes off the road. I've just borrowed a mk8 Golf R-Line for 2 days while my full-fat R was in for service/MOT, etc. OMG... the Mk8 is dreadful... lots of shiny black plastic, haptic controls everywhere and obvious things are buried within the touchscreen. My latest Golf R will be sadly my last, VW have ruined it. Not sure what to change it to when the time comes... GR Yaris is bloody epic... but just a little too small. Any thoughts?
@volkswizard I'll shall be putting them all to good use. Out of curiosity, did you have a squeak that seemed to come from the suspension mounts on your gti? My mk8r has this after less than 22000 miles so wondering if its a known issue and the cure if any. Thanks again

I've just sent my mk8 gti clubsport back after 3 years of ownership. Best car I've ever had! Just use Android Auto all the time 👌

It’s cost them sales so there are back in part on facelift mk8.
