What Will I Catch On This Pink Swimbait?

  • What's not to love about a bubblegum swimbait? I took out my inflatable paddle board for a day of fishing on a lake I had never fished before. I only packed one rod and a small bag of tackle. The bait that ultimately worked the best was the Reaction Innovations Skinny Dipper, which I feel is a great option for covering water and fishing around thick cover.

    8:35 might want to start "8 Trap" technique when you get visible follows that don't initially commit. Very effective with swimbaits. Not sure if that's easy to do with the stability of the paddle board though.

    Another great video Ethan...thanks :). Re: almost losing your rod? We just got back from the cabin and I did indeed lose my favorite combo over the side of my kayak. I was sick...lol. 20 feet of water with thick weeds or I would have jumped in after it. I tried dragging a heavy spoon through the area but no joy. Fishing was good though so there's that. Currently awaiting delivery of some rod leashes. Lesson learned :(. Cheers!

      Ouch! I am so sorry to hear that. Fishing on small watercraft is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when. I have lost gear before too and it is not a good feeling.

    Man I always forget you changed the channel name. Random question cuz I just got into kayaking. If you go over an area with a lure, how often do you swing back and try another lure? Coming from bank angling to kayak fishing I'm finding some interesting learning curves from inshore to offshore approaches

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Год назад +1

      I don't usually comb over the same area a bunch unless I am really confident fish are there. I typically try to cover as much water as possible personally.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Год назад +1

      I don't typically throw fluoro on light gear. I use Sunline for my bass fishing needs, but for lighter lines, I opt for braid or copolymer.

      The pursuit of a 20 will certainly come back. I just have had a lot of things going on so the fishing has been put on pause a bit. Don't worry - that 20 is out there and I plan to get them.

    Wanted to ask a quick question. I have showed you love of love for your burro bug and I'm planning to get at the least one of each plastic. I'm stuck on colors and thought maybe just going Dakota sunrise on them all would be best since it looks kinda similar to rodeo clown. Lighter color on one side and darker on the other. So in theory that color choice would be best for any water color or should I just go with a different color for each one?

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Год назад +1

      I like to have a bit of variety just in case the water clarity calls for a certain color option. I would suggest getting a few brighter options and a few more natural options. That should put you in a good spot!

  • @Tightt88
    @Tightt88 Год назад +1

    You should always have your rod rip facing your lure, especially with moving baits. The line rubs on the guides and makes some noice (mainly braid) and it actually wears down your line faster too when it is constantly rubbing against your guides.
