So from I’m gathering, mystery class is basically, the how to train your dragon version of monster hunter’s elder dragon class “What is it” “Toss it into the category made for shit we don’t have shit for”
Oh c'mon it's not that hard to understand, Elder Dragon's are the monsters that have dragon element in their bodies naturally, but can use it to manipulate other elements like Kushala Daora, Kirin and even Alatreon
Mystery class was definitely one of the more unusual classes of this universe. I found out behind the scenes that a handful of dragons were created from leftover assets the studio had lying around. I’m assuming this is the class they put some of these leftover dragons into. I also know that a few of the tracker class dragons have been made the same way.
Patterns of Blessing Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever. -Psalm 23:6 As he wrote the words of Psalm 23, David was able to look back on his life and say, “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23:6) In the same way, as we look back on our lives as Christians, we are able see a pattern of God’s blessing over the years. As the results of sin catch up with those who have had no time for God, we find that God’s goodness and unfailing love have followed us all the days of our lives. Of course, when we’re going through certain situations, we might not be able to see God’s goodness or mercy. We might even question Him on occasion. But as we look backward, we’re able to see God’s hand in a way that we perhaps could not see it before. We see this illustrated in the tumultuous life of young Joseph, who had so many setbacks. Yet so many wonderful things happened in his life. And in the end, he said to his brothers who betrayed him, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good” (Genesis 50:20) Even if you have wandered from God, He will put goodness and mercy on your trail. The Bible says, “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?” (Romans 2:4) Maybe you haven’t walked as closely with the Lord as you ought to, and you’re not happy doing what you’re doing. Come back to the Shepherd. He loves you and will welcome you with His goodness and mercy. And really, it’s the greatest life there is. Even if there wasn’t a Heaven, the Christian life on earth alone is better than anything this world has to offer. But there is a Heaven. And it isn’t an afterthought or a fringe benefit. It’s our ultimate destination. That is why we can say with David, “And I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” It is certain. Nothing is going to change that. And it has a way of putting everything else in perspective. When the disciples were discouraged, stressed out, and afraid for their future, Jesus told them, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am” (John 14:1-3) Jesus is coming again. It may be in our lifetime. It could even be today. I think the Zippleback ancestors had your typical flammable gas fire like most depictons of dragons, but the twin head mutation alter their organs, having one head contain the organ that generates the flammable gas while the other has the organ that makes the spark

@@marriedtofryingpanpansx that's not possible, if it has two heads that are completely functional and have different personalities, then it HAS a brain on each head, it's just not possible for it to have a single brain in one head and yet it changes entirely how it behaves when it's on the second head, I mean, Barf and Belch can override their actions at time, like when Tuff and Ruff were telling them "Stay here" while the other twin was telling them to fly away, and when they did try to listen, it barely got a few feet off the ground before collapsing, so both heads have a brain and can take total control of the body, it's just that they coordinate themselves to know who is gonna take control of it and who's gonna be chill and go "aight, imma think about sheep"

What about a Buster/Bombardier Class for dragons that have either explosive abilities or a lobbing attack similar to a siege weapon/Making their very own tools, like the Hideous Zippleback’s gas blast or the Armorwing’s ability to forge armor for itself, and slinging pieces of the armor at its adversaries, and the Cavern Crashers can even launch their mucus like a catapult.

Bone napper was the first to put bones onto its body before the armor wing ever existed. Also he is my favorite dragon besides the monstrous nightmare. Also I believe the snaptrapers where more based on fly traps which do release sweet aromas to lure in flies and other insects
I wonder if one of the things that put sandbuster in the mystery class is the fact that, not only does their fire turn to glass in impact, but it can also ricochet from some of the surfaces it hits

12:49 This might be wrong and is a theory but in the first movie dragons are said to be ceceptiable to sound, disorienting them and in the 2nd movie the Alpha uses some kind of frequency to make other dragons do its bidding so the Death Song must be able to produce a similar frequency to draw in prey.
The boneknapper reminds me of Radobaan from monster hunter world. A creature that secretes a tar-like substance (or actual tar) out of many pores across its body. It then rolls around in bone deposits (plentiful in the area it lives in, a natural monster graveyard), the tar acting like strong adgesive to create an armored shell for itself. Hunters can break off bone pieces to reveil weakspots to deal more damage.

I was already excited to watch another video of yours, but when i saw that my art was featured in your video it made my day! Keep up the good work, Orca!!
My head cannon for the Armour wing is that when they went in to the hidden world they had to resort to using razor whip armor or other dragon's armour or bones to cover themselves and use it for camouflage.
OR IT COULD BE THE OTHER WAY AROUND maybe the ancestors to that species first specialized in hunting Razorwhips, only undergoing speciation after some weird biped apes get tools
I enjoy that you tried your best to scientifically or logically explain why a lot of dragons can do the things they do! It made me see them in a different light, when I *knew* that the real answer was 'the tv show just needed cool dragon enemies'.
One thing that probably helped with the mystery of Buffalords and Dramillions was the fact that they were believed to have been extinct due to overhunting and with the lack of specimens to study made it harder to understand their behaviors and abilities. The only ones that knew of their existence were hunters (making them less of a mystery to them, but not by much) and the hunters were pretty much a mystery until the second season of RTTE (if you watch the franchise chronologically).
Snaptrapper: the majority of carnivorous plants use sweet scent to lure "prey". And a lot more plant use scent to lure pollinators, both sweet and foul odors.
Slithersongs can also produce a sound temporarily maddening its prey and disorienting it, also im pretty sure the amber it shoots is super heated basically cooking whatevers trapped alive
I feel like dramialian, Deathsong, and flightmare could be strike class, also buffalord and the purple round bean (forgot its name) could be boulder class. Or they could bring back Fear Class and have slitherwing, flightmare
The real mystery: what phylum they all belong in, and which species are more closely related to others. Like, are those sea dragons that blast boiling water related to sea snakes, or eels?
I definitely see the Flightmare being moved from the Mystery Class to Strike Class if more was known about it. Sleek body design, narrow, reptile-like head, displays above-average intelligence and speed, characteristically very aggressive, it has all the trademarks.
6:10 I'm sorry but fahrenheit is one of the best things to come from the customary system because it is a lot more accurate and precise than Celsius. Like 1°C is 33.8°F but 2°C is 35.6°F. on this one, customary system wins by a longshot
@@xnlacproblem is, that doesn't represent how a human being is going to live. 0 - 100 Celsius is for water 0 - 100 Fahrenheit is for humans. Anything lower or higher than that is considered hazardous, while anything above 40 degrees Celsius is hazardous. So the rest of the numbers from 40 to 100 are not really important at all for a person to consider.
With the amount of dragons in the class that can camoflauge, i made my own class called Stealth class cause... well cause stealthy (Night Fury would also fit in here lol)
I'm pretty sure that since the Hobgobblers saliva is flammable, when they "eat" something, they don't actually digest it, it just disintegrates and because of this, they have to eat certain materials that aren't flammable, maybe because of their large size, it makes it easier to find these certain foods just for them, but I suppose soup or any drinks are also edible for them, making the clip of the Hobgobbler in the soup swimming around looking relaxed and happy, demonstrates how long they can go with food or without food, that is if that specific Hobgobbler was starved / thirsty (Or that Hobgobbler was just happy to be chilling in some soup) But thats my theory, Hope it makes sense :)
12:55 nah pretty sure stoick is just shouting it rather that saying it normally so tornado can hear him Also i think the slitherwing can still be in the mystery class bcuz maybe the myster of them is how they produce this odd poisoon that can be absorbed by the skin or how they juat produce poison otta thier skin or maybe the fact that thier scales are immune to the deathsong amber and the buffalord why i think it can atill be in the mystery class is bcuz it have a mysterious saliva that can be toxic and lethal to anyone and also can help cure the thingy of odin and last but not the least the Hobgobbler why i think it can still be in the mystery class is since it coats itself with its flammable saliva and no burn and its saliva can become aflame without incontact with a spark or fire So the mystery is how cant it flare up like the monstrous nightmare is its scales be a magical ?? And also it can eat everything in its path so if eats something that every other dragon cant eat its stomach must be a myster too
Would’ve been cool for the fear class to have been the class for unique and odd dragon so mystery can be specifically for the actual mysterious dragons
Mystery should be a placeholder for dragons they can't classify untill they find a fitting class or make a fitting class instead of settling for I dunno
10:51 Huh?🤨 I'm pretty sure picher plants (and other carnivorous plants) emit a sweet, nectar-like aroma to entice various bugs and sometimes even small mammals & birds.
For the snaptrapper part there are instances of plants using smells to lure in prey, venus flytraps, sundew, and pitcher plants secrete a sweet smelling nectar to attract insects, and then there are plants like the rafflesia that smells like rotting flesh to lure in insects Edit: didnt see the pinned comment
I personally define the Mystery class based more on having a hidden nature rather than having some incomprehensible aspect. Whether it's using gas or camouflage to hide its presence, some form of armor to hide its weakness, or some unique ability that lets it snatch prey or fend off predators. The dragons of the Mystery class are either trappers or slippery survivors who use their unique powers. It's a different description from the written lore, but I think it makes more sense.
ngl, the most funny part about all this was the buffalord, since it was kinda just there for plot. also i have a theory that its more of a historic dragon, since in the episode it was introduced in, the "plague of odin" it was said that the species was hunted down to extinction, but in all honesty lets just be honest, it do be a cow with wings XD
Vikings may not have known about chocolate but it definitely existed at the time in a way. The implication being that the four headed dragon lives in South America as well makes more sense.
I don’t think Dragons aren’t dinosaur descendants, but rather a type of living pterosaur descendant I nicknamed, “Aerasaurs” literally meaning “sky lizards” and this is because dragons share many more traits with pterosaurs than dinosaurs, most notably being both are flying reptiles
10:51 so, as you said, “there isn’t really anything that attracts prey with a smell”. Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, basically any carnivorous plant uses sweet smells as well as pungent ones to attract bugs among other things
Super well made video, that was both entertaining, and educational. Since, though I loved the HTTYD series, I never dove into it as much as I should of, but this video gave insights into a lot of dragons I didn't know about. Great vid, u not a new sub :)
17:15 the titanwing dramillion can camouflage because it’s a relative to the changewings. However only the titanwing can do this but in the case of changewings any changewing can camouflage
I always think that the dragons are sorted into classes based on sharing common ancestors, like how we classify different animal groups (Equines, big cats) and so the ones in the same class are similar but are just named "Mystery Class" or whatever class because they needed a name for it.
My theory with the Boneknapper and the Armour Wing was that because theyre obviously semi-closely related to the Monstrous Nightmare, they produce a gel that instead of igniting, acts as an adhesive
@@NewOrca Tarzan really is underrated. Also did you know that the boneknapper is removed from the canon, because it was made during the core production of the first film and was added last minute.
I mean it's what was explained about them..they're hard of hearing and thus they just can't hear the song well enough for it to actually work! No dragon known is just "immune to melody", only explanation for why any would be is they just can't hear it.
4:47 Bats do make noise when flying, it's owls that fly silently, because they have frilled feathers that reduce air resistance when flying/gliding providing noise reduction.
With the death and slither song I think they are like moths and butterflies, where the death song is more flashy and brightly colored while hunting more during the day and the slither song is less flashy and more dimly colored while hunting more during the night

Honestly none of those went into the mystery class, some I'm tracker but most unnamed and unclassified.
Patterns of Blessing
Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever.
-Psalm 23:6
As he wrote the words of Psalm 23, David was able to look back on his life and say, “Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever”
(Psalm 23:6)
In the same way, as we look back on our lives as Christians, we are able see a pattern of God’s blessing over the years.
And in the end, he said to his brothers who betrayed him, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good”
(Genesis 50:20)
Even if you have wandered from God, He will put goodness and mercy on your trail. The Bible says, “Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?”
(Romans 2:4)
Maybe you haven’t walked as closely with the Lord as you ought to, and you’re not happy doing what you’re doing.
When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am” (John 14:1-3)
Jesus is coming again. It may be in our lifetime. It could even be today. And ultimately as Christians, we all are going to go to Heaven. That is our great hope.

That would be more believable, two heads would make it easier to not accidentally light the gas
I've seen the Book of Dragons and Zipplebacks are fear class. It's represented in the movie at the arena.
It would also make sense that it would only have 1 brain so it could better coordinate its movements
One of my ideas is bringing back the Fear Class for ones that are devious and sneaky (Zippleback, Snaptrapper, Changewing, Sandbuster, etc), and also introducing a Frost Class and a Toxic Class.
This is going to to come up in season 6 of nine realms, calling it now
What dragons would be in this Toxic Class?
@@cezannejimenez7164 Trippe Stryke, DeathGripper, possibly Flame Whipper, Stinkwing, Slitherwing, Threadtail, Memorazor, Grimora. I've wondered if Buffalord saliva on its own is venomous, if so then yeah that would he here.

Hobgobbler why i think it can still be in the mystery class is since it coats itself with its flammable saliva and no burn and its saliva can become aflame without incontact with a spark or fire

10:51 Huh?🤨 I'm pretty sure picher plants (and other carnivorous plants) emit a sweet, nectar-like aroma to entice various bugs and sometimes even small mammals & birds.
Yes. There are actual cases in nature wich use scent to lure pley. Case in point Venus Fly Traps and Trumpet Pitcher if I'm not mistaken.
For the snaptrapper part there are instances of plants using smells to lure in prey, venus flytraps, sundew, and pitcher plants secrete a sweet smelling nectar to attract insects, and then there are plants like the rafflesia that smells like rotting flesh to lure in insects
Edit: didnt see the pinned comment
But I don't know why nobody's like
I LOVE the use of rise of berk and wondering if you could make a video about the game
I plan on making a video about all the httyd games ☺️
wow I had never known the HTTYD franchise had such world worldbuilding and lore
7:36 I love that ark reference
I APPLAUD you for classifying a Mystery Class dragon.
I kind of want them to make a video reworking the dragon classification system
I personally define the Mystery class based more on having a hidden nature rather than having some incomprehensible aspect. Whether it's using gas or camouflage to hide its presence, some form of armor to hide its weakness, or some unique ability that lets it snatch prey or fend off predators.
The dragons of the Mystery class are either trappers or slippery survivors who use their unique powers. It's a different description from the written lore, but I think it makes more sense.
The boneknapper is so friggin cool, idk why but its just always been my favorite dragon
I didn’t know they have a comic series … I feel like I’ve missed something
Don't worry I'll be going through them in a video :)
The edit is great, the humor is great, the content is great, i want mowe
Hay welcome back my guy
The armoring bone Napper and the Monsters nightmare are basically related
50 seconds in and there's already a dad joke 😂
06.02
Man that junk was very good for armorwing to steal a scrap metal
Or a Sword stealer
“I-it’s A COW! WITH WINGS!” My honest reaction when I first saw this in the series not gonna lie.
ngl, the most funny part about all this was the buffalord, since it was kinda just there for plot. also i have a theory that its more of a historic dragon, since in the episode it was introduced in, the "plague of odin" it was said that the species was hunted down to extinction, but in all honesty lets just be honest, it do be a cow with wings XD
The armoring monsters nightmare and phone napper are third tire head and their wings their feet and that's it they look almost exactly
The bone napper monstrous nightmare and armoring are basically related
Will you also be making videos that talk about the dragons from Dragons: The Nine Realms?
Probably I would like to wait until the series is over to get full information and context about all the dragons.
Vikings may not have known about chocolate but it definitely existed at the time in a way.
The implication being that the four headed dragon lives in South America as well makes more sense.
1:06 u did not think you’d get away with this 💀 im crying
I don’t think Dragons aren’t dinosaur descendants, but rather a type of living pterosaur descendant I nicknamed, “Aerasaurs” literally meaning “sky lizards” and this is because dragons share many more traits with pterosaurs than dinosaurs, most notably being both are flying reptiles
10:51 so, as you said, “there isn’t really anything that attracts prey with a smell”. Venus flytraps, pitcher plants, basically any carnivorous plant uses sweet smells as well as pungent ones to attract bugs among other things
Animals don't use scents to lure prey, but certain plants do, and the dragon is specifically mimicing the appearance of a plant.
Thought the series was fucking dead, had so much fun rewatching the other videos. Good to see it back.
Yeh sorry for taking so long life stuff kept getting in the way
Super well made video, that was both entertaining, and educational. Since, though I loved the HTTYD series, I never dove into it as much as I should of, but this video gave insights into a lot of dragons I didn't know about. Great vid, u not a new sub :)
19:32 I can't with the voice crack 😭😭
17:15 the titanwing dramillion can camouflage because it’s a relative to the changewings. However only the titanwing can do this but in the case of changewings any changewing can camouflage
love that tarzan reference at 1:16
I always think that the dragons are sorted into classes based on sharing common ancestors, like how we classify different animal groups (Equines, big cats) and so the ones in the same class are similar but are just named "Mystery Class" or whatever class because they needed a name for it.
The 9 relms just show more diverging evolution the storm wing is just a relative of the other sharp class
My theory with the Boneknapper and the Armour Wing was that because theyre obviously semi-closely related to the Monstrous Nightmare, they produce a gel that instead of igniting, acts as an adhesive
as an avid book fan, really had no idea there was THIS much lore put into the movies and shows tbh.
Changewings always caught my attention. I love them so much
New orca: GORILLA
Tarzan: GORILLA
I love that movie, I wanna go to africa one day.
even my editor didn't get the reference XD
@@NewOrca Tarzan really is underrated. Also did you know that the boneknapper is removed from the canon, because it was made during the core production of the first film and was added last minute.
Also did you know in the defenders of berk dragon tracker, the flightmare was classified as a strike class, which I would've liked.
12:55 the thing with thunderdrums not being affected by the deathsong is not that they are deaf it’s actually that they aren’t bothered by the melody
I mean it's what was explained about them..they're hard of hearing and thus they just can't hear the song well enough for it to actually work! No dragon known is just "immune to melody", only explanation for why any would be is they just can't hear it.
bro finally i was waiting for this
I can’t believe this man Rick Rolled us in the first minute of the video. Legend
4:47 Bats do make noise when flying, it's owls that fly silently, because they have frilled feathers that reduce air resistance when flying/gliding providing noise reduction.
Some bats too can silently fly
3:02 Man, that's the flag of Brazil, not Scotland, I'm Brazilian, I can prove it
With the death and slither song I think they are like moths and butterflies, where the death song is more flashy and brightly colored while hunting more during the day and the slither song is less flashy and more dimly colored while hunting more during the night
