@@michellerjackson5776 It's Geronimo a famous Apache indian war leader who fought the US Army around the Mexican border from 1850 to 1886. His name is used like "charge' as in charge ahead in battle. In this case it's charge ahead with this seduction.
I was able to get it for 70 bucks about 4 years ago. When my dad died my stepmom gave all his records to her son, my dad’s step son for all of one year. She knew music was our thing. People can be cruel. So I’ve spent the last 20 years rebuilding thousands of records. Sadly there are a few I will never be able to replace.
Does Van even get it how many quadtrillionsof people love this man and his impact on the planet?????!!!?!. I wonder when at what age he realized his genius?
I remember reading an old Rolling Stone interview from the early 70's, in which it was clear that his genius was such that he did not understand the impact of his music on his fans. A few years later, I was talking with one of my friends who'd met him when she was working in a recording studio in Sausalito,Ca. She basically said the same thing, as far as his (lack of) social skills were concerned. Make no mistake, she loves his music as much as I do. Her point was the same as in the article, in that like many true geniuses, he was socially distant and removed from the impact of his art on the public; none of which diminishes the incredible impact of his art.
Am 70 years old. Been a Van Fan since the '60's, but for whatever reason never gave Veedon Fleece more than a passing listen. Until now. Love youtube and its recommendations (most of the time!).
Ive also never paid this one much attention despite loving Van for over 30 years! Isnt that amazing! He's so prolific and I hope we'll all still be discovering gems like this for years and years more!
this is too underrated, Astral has the praise it deserves 100% it's my favorite album ever but this has that mystic power in his voice like in Astral and some magic arrangements. I like this a bit more than Moondance even.
Driving cross Iowa in the early seventies in my GMC panel truck, windows down, to see my lover in DES Moines,..these songs memorized, singing them in the hot winds unable to wait to see Lee and love.
my fav album and sadly so underrated. Comfort You his most overlooked song...barely recognised. unfortunate van will be remembered fir br0wn eyed girls etc - not his true masterpieces that were never aired.
I bought my first Van album 41 years ago and have since collected almost all of them. I just bought Veedon Fleece and I regret that all these years have passed without it.
Veedon Fleece is my favorite Van album. Van was great himself, but I also appreciate the session players he hires. Don't know who they are, but most of his songs have some badass accompaniement.
Comme les chants primitifs , le blues et bien d'autres, les chansons de Van Morrisson sont des cris , des prières , des discours au monde cosmique qui nous entoure , nous ramenant à la dimension de grain de sable ; quel chanteur quel musicien !
This was the track that started it all for me way back in 1974.. First album I ever bought of Van Morrison , first track I ever played at home.. Now over 40 albums later , what can I say.. Only saw the man once , live , in Australia. Shame he can't visit again..
Fair Play to you Van, another Van Morrison on stunning beauty, every time i hear this recording it takes my mind to a place of beauty, I am someone who also loves brilliant rocking music like Thin Lizzy, Rotty Gallagher and other greats, maybe it is the Celtic feel of magic words, music and storytelling that gets me every time.
Absolutely so great and so fine and so truthful... and so strong, too, he's both crying and singing together amazingly beautifully and so sincerely...!
Age 14, standing in Tower records looking at Veedon Fleece wondering if i should get it. I did and was blown away, still own the perfect vinyl album at 65yrs. old. Van shaped my life !

Fair Play says you, songs so fine, no real line, just got the time, so much sublime, sort out the rhyme, not really mine, but found it online, now I just want to climb, being in quite a bind, may just have to say Gerinimo!
do you know that rolling stone magazine record guide rated this album zero stars, just completely worthless? something to think about regarding how they might value stuff
The piano mirroring or otherwise responding to the sung lines, and then otherwise just skirting the melody is genius.
"Jaranamo"...

I call it the drip, same with the little guitar drip. It's perfection, like the song itself.
Who playing the piano?
Lightning in a bottle. I'm not the biggest Van Morrison fan, but this is CLEARLY one of the most-profound recordings ever captured. THE END
Well stated.
Lazy, age 20-something afternoons, bit of weed, autumn, looking out the window at the trees.
Enjoy the music and the magic!
I am buying this album right now. I can't stop listening to it. Pure genius Van!!!!!!!
Be prepared to pay !!

Veedon fleece one of Van's most way underrated albums , a true diamond , the whole album takes me right in . Has since 74,

This has to be one of Van's most lovely, romantic songs. I love it to the moon!!!!!!
Yes.
Great song, but "I'll be your Lover Too" probably gets that title for me. "Tupelo Honey", and "Into the Mystic" right there as well.
Van has a voice that sounds like liquid gold = beautiful, gorgeous, priceless. Dig the bass line…Geronimo
Astral Weeks gets all the press (and it's a slightly better album, to be fair) but this one is another masterpiece.
this is too underrated, Astral has the praise it deserves 100% it's my favorite album ever but this has that mystic power in his voice like in Astral and some magic arrangements. I like this a bit more than Moondance even.
It really is. His best work in my opinion
TheHumanSpeciesIsAPlague NotMeantToBeInExistence There are no right or wrong opinions on music. But this one goes close.
This one is much better than astral weeks
Hes just Van. No words
Driving cross Iowa in the early seventies in my GMC panel truck, windows down, to see my lover in DES Moines,..these songs memorized, singing them in the hot winds unable to wait to see Lee and love.

Possibly my personal favorite album of all time.
#2 for me, "Hard Nose The Highway" is #1. "It's Too Late To Stop Now" is my favorite live effort.
@@TheRealForrestGeorge It's Too late to Stop Now is probably the finest Live album ever made.

Mine too!
I adore this album. I had it as a cut out when I was a teenager. I can't hear it often enough.

He maybe an old misery guts, but that certainly doesn't detract from his musical brilliance, as this track testifies.
Here is the thing about VM, I think. He loves singing.
He is indeed a gifted singer and sings with such conviction and soul.
Simply wonderful, another Van masterpiece....

Brilliant and eloquent ❤
Well said
For me this Van’s best album after Astral Weeks. And the opening tune Fair Play opens all the sharm too come. So intimate ❤
Once upon a time I spent a nice long slow dance with my not yet wife to this song. Forever a beauty. The song, too.
This was the track that started it all for me way back in 1974.. First album I ever bought of Van Morrison , first track I ever played at home.. Now over 40 albums later , what can I say.. Only saw the man once , live , in Australia. Shame he can't visit again..

Astral Weeks and Veedon Fleece belong on every deserted island.

As well as Common One ..
