    Usually I hate when people talk during the video bc most of what they choose to say is more like rambling rather than critical information or even entertaining information. However, I really thought the narration you added was very necessary and extremely easy to listen to. Loved it. Can’t wait to see more

    Another great video Marie. Your descriptions and explanations are always spot on. And I appreciate that you always state how this is the way you do it, tho it may not be the best way. This allows the woodworker see the project through their own eyes, and lets them find the best route to the end result. This project stool is great. It shows the legs, raked and splayed, as well as the chevron design for the seat. Keep up the good work. It is very inspirational.

    I really like the design of your chair, but then I have always liked the look of the edge of plywood when its sanded. I made a desk and a table using plywood with the edges exposed. I used premium plywood that had absolutely no voids, and they came out really nice.

    Nice project. I've always shied away from compound mitre cuts, but your excellent presentation's method has given me some confidence. I thought maybe you'd gone into hibernation, I'm told Quebec winters can be brutal ;-) The grey finish looks good, I've been using a dead-matte product which mimics chalk paint but is quite tough . ( In UK it's a Ronseal product but I'm sure others do one too) Needs no wax or clear-coat.

    Love this stool, I'm going to try and make it, one question, it says to use dowels, how are you getting a straight dowel hole on an angled end? my dowel jig sits flush to the angled end, was wondering if there is a trick i'm missing to get them to align correctly, or if you are just drilling them free hand, or with some sort of angled dowel jig?

    • @DIYMontreal
      @DIYMontreal  3 года назад +1

      I just push the dowel jig flat against the angled surface and drill. The dowel will automatically be perpendicular to that surface.

    • @nfarquhar
      @nfarquhar 3 года назад

      @@DIYMontreal Oh, so the dowel is just angled slightly in the joint, thats easier, for some stupid reason I thought it needed to be horizontal.
      all good, I made that way more complicated than it needed to be... lol
