BBC camera seems to have a mind of its own as it suddenly gave the impression a TV reporter was sinking into the studio floor. BBC's Caroline Bilton tweeted: "Well I'm globally famous it would seem and for all the wrong reasons! The power of the web! Glad it's making people smile. #sinkingfeeling".

This transition should be standard practice.
Imagine them interviewing vsauce.
Lol
I agree.
Especially in reporting about sinkholes or the Titanic.
I would watch BBC news just to see that every day
Caroline returns to her 1,000 year slumber beneath the Earth.

Caroline, queen of the underworld, forges through the earth back to the depths from which she came
Thank you for your good grammar, not ending your sentence with a preposition. 😊
Her job done, the presenter quickly returns to her hole in the ground.
Lol
To think there is no popular David Attenborough meme format yet. He's going to be dead soon, we need to get on it.
LUL like a mole or something
Honestly that's where BBC reporters belong. 😂
Omg 😂
Cameraman: what kinda transition do you want
Producer: Give me Windows 98 PowerPoint style
Lol
That sound strangely like you're talking to a bartender.
@Darren Murphy 😂😂😂
@Casperdghost618What would that be? A New England style IPA, perhaps some kind of espresso stout, or a really really heavy Porter?
@Casperdghost618 Dryer than shit. I know some folks like it like that. But not me.
If the other woman didn’t mention the camera problem, it would have looked intentional, an artistic way to finish the reporter’s speech
This could become a trend that eventually turns into the normal way to begin and end a story. Hydraulic chair sales will boom !
Narrator: Caroline wasn't heard from again for another 389 years when she suddenly appeared out of another wormhole on live tv, similar to the one she disappeared in. It so happened to be during the key Battle of the Azores in the twenty year "Ultra Wars". The fighting immediately ceased upon her arrival, as everyone was dumbfounded as to what exactly they were witnessing. She regaled the combatants & the world with stories of the adventures she'd been on while away. The enemies she'd made and the loves that she'd lost. All spanning a mere ten years for her.
This humanity only knew of whispers of her through it's archives, yet everything she went through served as inspiration for an Earth torn apart, and a mere husk of what it was. What was left of humanity put down all of their weapons and set down a course together that would ultimately reshape the planet into a paradise the likes of which human civilization had never known.
Caroline lived well into old age before just kind of... falling off of the grid if you can believe it. Something seemingly impossible in the advanced era she reappeared in. No one knows what happened to her exactly. Some speculate that she slipped into another wormhole to continue her adventures & to save other worlds. Others claim that she retreated into the enchanted cave kingdoms of what used to be known as Siberia to live a peaceful life of solitude after completing her life's mission. The one thing that is known... Is that humanity owes Caroline a debt that it can never repay. Thank you Caroline.
Blessings upon you for this 🤣😂🤣😂
😂😆🤣 You tell great bedtime stories don’t you?
I love how BBC uploaded it on their own instead of trying to bury it. I'm glad tha the folks at BBC can take a joke and also laugh at it.
To err is human, but to really screw something up, use a computer.
If I had to guess, I'd say that the command was sent to the wrong camera. It's amazing what they can do with technology these days.
Yeah lol
Learn English first
Totally agree. Knowing they posted it themselves makes it way funnier to me.
@@gorillaau it's not the camera it's her chair. The buildings in the background stay in the same place.

Yes, that's the part I love: the British just carry on! I would have been laughing or trying not to laugh.
That's why she shouldn't have taken up drumming
Was there a problem with the camera? Or was that the most gangster exit in the history of newscasting?

Yes and yes.

@@_QWERTY__ Lol. That would be a good prank in the newsroom.
Caroline was placed back in underground storage until needed on camera again.
Yoga practice is paying off, finally Caroline was able to do the splits
For those who don't know how this could have happened.
Camera simply tilted upwards. Background is not real. Presenter is sitting in front of a blue screen and image behind her is added later. That's why background didn't change.
Why camera tilted upwards? Operator probably left and didn't lock the tilt break. Cameras on tripods tend to be rear heavy due to all the accessories mounted in the back. So It could have been operator negligence but also something silly as work being done in studio, moving gear around, tech needs you to step back from the camera so he can drag cable through it just takes a few sec etc. Shit happens in live production.
Also could have been a remotely operated camera and the operator accidentally nudged the joystick. It happens.
Thanks for the explanation - I was wondering. But it now makes perfect sense.
Underrated connent
@@whitneystone7550 well theoretically yes but probably wasn't the case for several reasons.
1) Camera used for this kind of shot has a teleprompter mounted in front of the lens. The way those are normally mounted is on the tripod under the camera I just can't see how it would fit on remote controlled head or what would be the point.
2) If you actually bumped the joystick the movement would not be so smooth, you would actually need to hold it in place. Also, you will need to bump the joystick back for camera to tilt up, which is very unlikely accidental way to bump a joystick.
I work in live production for over 15 years and cameras on tripods when left unattended always do this if you don't lock the tripod. They are never perfectly balanced (as all things should be). Especially on outside broadcasts where are multiple cameras, you can see right away which cameras have been setup by that new intern because they are all pointing into the sky on their unlocked tripods.
Doesn't look like a tilt, the angle doesn't change - you can still see her face head on. Could it be that the camera moved upwards?
Caroline was actually reporting from a glass lift (elevator) taking this report to a whole new level
Levels ... It took reporting to all new levels. She started on level 2 and ended in the Basement lol !
That's not true. Caroline saw her own shadow and quickly returned to her burrow, ensuring 5 more weeks of winter.

It was a missed opportunity that the news anchor didnt rise up from beneath after the reporter sank down.

i would've loved for the camera to pan up to the next reporter lol
''chair collapses'' will never not be funny, even when it's happening to you. for some reason usually beyond your control, a prankster or a rickety old chair or a worn out air cylinder in the lift. One of these days, Gravity Wins, Again.
I don't think it's the chair collapses. It's the camera swivel upwards, that's why the woman didn't even look startled or anything, because she didn't realize what happened.
The background stay the same because it was a greenscreen.
@@dalfifran7572 maybe but why would the green screen be so much higher than normally needed?
@@squeakybunny2776 Well its not clear what it is normally needed for. They are presumably in a studio so it may well be a greenscreen that can also be used whilst standing. We also don't know where the camera is - if its a TV studio though it might be like 3-5 metres away but zoomed in so it only takes a small angle change to have the effect we see.
Legend has it you can still hear her, under the floorboards, of the newsroom this very day.
