Carl Davis: «My boss is the film itself»

Carl Davis paid us his yearly visit for the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg's «Live Cinema» event. He sat down with us and explained that he actually has a double job. He also spoke of his responsibility to introduce old movies to a new audience, of the uniqueness of silent movies and of how movies like «The Artist» or Martin Scorsese's «Hugo» really help the cause of old silent movies.

I met Carl Davis many years ago (back in the 90s). A very nice man and a tremendously talented one. I was sad to learn that he passed away.
