Ohtani is still in rehab and he should not pitch this season!!!! do not break his long term career!
His rehab is over when cleared to pitch.
Cleared means his arm is fully healed. If he gets injured it can happen day one or in 3 years. Time isn't a factor anymore. It's throwing with velocity and spin rate that causes stress and damage on the arm.
He was cleared 2 weeks ago. Don't tell anyone.
Only if he pitches left-handed.
@@laartworkincorrect. He is pitching at 90% today.
He will be pitching towards a 3 rd TJ surgery.
The Dodgers desperately need him for the post-season but he should not risk injuring himself for one playoff run. They paid him for 10 years and we all want to see him play a healthy 10 years. If this isn't the Dodgers' year because of the lack of pitching then so be it
The Manager is setting up a seed of doubt in the other NL playoff teams. By just saying Shohei is a possible pitcher, the potential opponents will have to use their resources and time to make up a game plan just in case Shohei pitches. That's one of the jobs as a manager, to keep the other teams guessing.
All it’s going to do is make all those other teams call his bluff. What game plan do they need to come up with? All the teams likely to go deep into the playoffs this year have better pitching then the Dodgers, Shohei or not. This isn’t keeping anyone guessing, it’s just bluster.
@@PTANV-x2g A game plan and scouting report of what types of pitches Shohei will most likely throw and have the players practice. This takes time and resources. That means this time and resources could be used on other things if Shohei was confirmed to not be pitching. Is it really that hard to understand?
You are waaaaaaaay overthinking this. They aren’t digging that deep until it becomes clear that he’s pitching. They’re not making big moves based on bluster.
@@PTANV-x2gjust because you're shallow doesn't mean everybody else is too.😂
DUMBEST THING THEY CAN DO, CONSIDERING PAST FEW PITCHERS, NOT TO MENTION $$$$$$$. FIRE ROBERTS!!!
Stop the Lindor NL mvp narrative.
Stop the Ohtani will pitch in the post season narrative.
None of these are happening.
Just because he said he might pitch. It doesn't mean he actually will pitch.
As much as I love the idea from a certain point of view, what I don’t get is why nobody has talked about how he might not even pitch well at first. He’d have missed over a year. I mean, we all know the ace that Walker Buehler was, but look at how he’s struggled this year. Shohei might not necessarily come back and be himself right away.
For all the money they spent-this is a very good 2nd or 3rd place team! Favorites in April, bums in October. Dejablu every year under Roberts.
First if all, the pitching is shaky. A team must have solid starters that can est up innings and we don't have that. Our bullpen is also shaky.
With so many injuries, i have my doubts about the medical staff.
It's not looking good with the pitching staff in the post season, so why risk you Holy cow when the previous are shaky. That's just my view in my humble opinion.
So no, don't rush him
They don't rule it out just for publicity. In reality, it's not going to happen. Ohtani is rehab pitching at his 90% speed as of today. He isn't ready to pitch in PS and they are stupid if they push him to pitch.
This is dumb from the Dodgers. They need to figure out their pitching and not throw it on their best hitter .Because Shohei is a Hitter this year. Why would they expect they can put him everywhere to fix their problems in his very first season with them.DUMB
NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WBCの再来みたいで楽しいけれど、危険が伴いますね。優勝が決まる最後の1人だけとか?
From hearing his comments, I think Shohei wants to live in the moment, not think about what might happen next year if he pitches this year.
If Shohei thinks he’s ready to go, I think he might pitch.
The level of his rehab and training are probably unmatched by any other. If he thinks he’s ready and if there’s nothing to say otherwise, he may be on the mound…
By no means is it a guarantee to get to the WS every year. Gotta take it when you can, if it seems physically possible.
Yes the injuries to the pitching staff has taken its toll. It's harder pitch without a lead. Glas could'nt lay off the gas as he lost many games while giving up very few runs. Maybe they need to hit better or fire the hitting coach
How abour he start hitting again? 2 for 14 in the Atanta series and a ton of strikeouts.
He probably wants to pitch in postseason
Of course 😮
This is Robert’s trying save his ass from the inevitable. He could care less of the pitcher’s health and future his focus on winning games. Shohei needs to completely shut himself down from pitching this season and work to start fresh next season. Since last season Dodgers pitching has been an issue that is the result of overuse.
Roberts doesnt decide who pitches. Its Othani and the front office
He should shut down next year and the year after that if you want to treat him like a tea cup.
This just sounds like a topic that is designed to keep people talking about the Dodgers. I don't see it actually coming into any reality.
If he is ready, then let him pitch. Doesn’t matter if it is post season or next season. Injuries can happen anytime. You can’t eliminate an injury just because you save him for next season.
It isn’t just about injuries, it’s about settling into a healthy routine and building up endurance as well. Getting his mechanics nailed down so he can be really effective. It’s unlikely that he’s anywhere near that dialed in at this point, like he would be after a healthy spring training. Makes way more sense to just save him for next year. He isn’t going to make or break the Dodgers’ chances this year.
Am I wrong to have low expectations for the dodgers this postseason? I’m gonna predict a first round exit until they prove me wrong
You’re not wrong. Ohtani or not, they don’t have the pitching to count on.
Dodgers won’t win one game thia team is weak and it starts at the top
If he pictures, they're taking a big chance of another Tommy. John's surgery, which might destroy his career. Considering the fact that Dodgers do very bad in the playoffs. It's not worth it the way they're playing Right Now. It's gonna be The same old story.😂🎉🎉🎉
Robert’s nose grows about an inch every time he opens his mouth!
When the Dodgers lose in the playoffs, which they will because of pitching Robert, the pitching coach and the general manager should be fired.
Give him an inning or two in playoffs
Allen Thomas Wilson Karen Perez Karen
don't bother with the risk, this team is done before they even get to the post season, the Braves are going to sweep them, and probably get embarassed by the Fish next.
Ohtani pitching for what to go on the il and lose his bat well he’s not hitting anyways worst signing
I think Roberts is speaking to his players through the media, something managers do all the time.
Get it together; bust your asses and get there; do whatever it takes. Clayton Kershaw, Tony Gonsolin, and even Shohei Ohtani are prepared to do everything they can possibly do to take the mound if you can get us that far...they need to get through a month of baseball. It's time to stand together as teammates (not that I think they haven't done that this year). Literally every guy on the roster has to be willing to put everything on the line to reach the goal...but it's up to the guys playing now to get to that point, so they need to do literally everything they can in the meantime. Everyone has to empty the tank, and if they can do it, a month from now, there are guys preparing themselves to do whatever they can do to pick up the baton and get the team over the finish line.
That's really what I think Roberts is doing.
