Pretty, peaceful and a nice getaway from the real world, if only for a few hours. Great store in the area that sells A TON of FRESH fudge in dozens of favors 9or at least there was one the last time I took this drive (yes about 4 years ago). I also took a side dirt road that went to some waterfalls WAY out back, down a LONG logging road
That series of dirt roads and snowmobile trails have so many hidden spots to find! I've done a few of them but want to take some time and really explore them
Thank you for filming this beautiful place. I went to Pittsburg for many years with my family. I see some changes but overall it looks pretty much the same. Your video brought it all back. I must get there again!
My pleasure! Been up a few times over the years to look for moose. Haven't found one yet but did find it to be one of my favorite places in New England
@@MileMarker4k been going up for over 30 yrs, you drove past a few of my hunting spots haha.. I'll be up in a few weeks with the boat and to do a little pre season deer scouting. FYI, Spruce Cone Cabins, Northern Trails and Moose Alley Cabins are FANTASTIC choices for places to stay, Buck Rub Pub, Rainbow Grill and Full Send for meals, if you wanna sneak out for a bite.
I can't believe you drove all the way to Pittsburg! That is my top-secret getaway spot which I never tell anyone about. Every fall I make an annual pilgrimage to Back Lake. The peaceful call of the loons and the delicious food at Rainbow Grille are all the reason I need to escape Texas and head to the peace and tranquility of the Great North Woods. So shhh! 🤫 It’s our little secret! LOL If you’re ever up that way again, try to catch a moose sighting will ya? I’ve yet to see one as many times as I’ve been to moose country. I have a t-shirt that says “I’m On A Mission To See A Moose” but no luck. Locals have told me that fall is mating season so the moose are in the woods busy gettin busy. 🫣 That would explain it. LOL

Still makes me laugh that on 3 or 4 visits here I haven't seen a moose 😂 must be in the woods getting busy pretty often!
Beware of bear crossings
Wish I was that lucky. 4 trips up there over the years and haven't seen a single deer, moose or bear
