UP 8388 EAP Unit Leads Stack Train w/ UP 1988 North - E. Market St. Railroad Crossing, Stockton CA

(Filmed June 29, 2024) Later on in the evening I returned to downtown after hearing the IOANP was departing the Lathrop Facility. It briefly stopped at the Diamonds before continuing north. It had UP 8388 the Employee Assistance Program unit leading and a surprise UP 1988 The Katy Heritage Unit as the mid-DPU which was on the ZG2LT the previous day. I setup here at Market Street to catch it. This crossing owned by Union Pacific is a mixed install with the gated signals being a UP mid 2010s install with changes to its gates and gate lights and the gateless signals being a SP 1960s to 1970s install with changes to their bells and lights.

8388 also happened to lead the Sunset Limited sometime earlier this year too. This engine has a great K5LLA.
