Hey Gentry, got back into yo-yoing after like a 17 year break... thanks to your videos! Do you have any advice on trick progressions to advance from where I'm at right now? I learned a lot of the basics from Ann and Tom Connolly back in the day. (They did a yoyo club at my school). Also, bought the Silver and rainbow rims! can't wait to try it out! 💜

Loving the content! Worth noting, I actually did a combo that was just under 3 minutes back in 2012 on my RUclips with the title "To Prove A Point" which as far as I know may be the longest one throw no regen trick thrown. No doubt though your yoyo looks like it could kill it for sure and with higher level tricks :)

Hey Gentry! First professional yoyo I threw was your red with gold splash Shutter from 2014 i believe. I have liked all the lines of your shutters! Great vid! I have a question. Is there a certain yoyo string you would recommend for practicing/training and for performing? And Perhaps some that work better for the DNA trick/ some string that handles tension better as your playing? Is there an overall certain string that could possibly handle all of this? Getting back into yo-yoing again and I want to make sure I have the right stuff.

I’ve been working on the double or nothing and I’ve been getting better but I’m not a pro yet. I’m not sure what the yo-yo I’m using is called but it’s good but has room to improve. I’ve been thinking about rocking the shutter or the nine dragons yo-yo. I really enjoy your videos and in my heart you will always be the world champion.

absolutely awesome yoyo, have you ever considered making an undersized yoyo like an improved N8 type thing?
We did steel shutter which was a mini shutter after I won worlds in 2019 while training with a small yoyo as a tool. Might have to do another mini yoyo as a call back to 2019. 🤔
That would be absolutely awesome, I alongside many other player love the lightness of the undersized yoyos and your stuff is already the best you can get so I’m sure you could do a perfect undersized yoyo

Hey Gentry, I've recently thought about making a few yoyos, both for personal use and to give away. I'll be using standard 608 bearings that can deal with radial AND torsional loads (even though there isn't much torsion if at all with yoyos); Oust moc 9 Air bearings specifically. I honestly just want to give back to the company that gave me the smoothest bearing experience through all of my hobbies. I was actually wondering if you had any tips on making a hybrid/switchable yoyo like The Sage by YoyoTricks (manufactured by yoyo factory)? With a bearing like the one I'm choosing, it will be hard to get it to respond. Would I just have to experiment with response pads?
Needless to say, this video inspired me and made me want to pursue that even more, so thank you ❤

This thing does look cool, but I didn't see a lot of speed combos. At nearly 67g, I'm thinking that might be more of a challenge. Also, those kids in Sydney are better than me 🤯
Nah I love Brandon. The way a yoyo moves has more to do with the weight distribution than the weight itself. Because of the weight balance, it feels a bit lighter than 66.8 when it moves. Great for speed combos. Speed combos don’t score too well these days, so not a good fit for the challenge.
@@Gentrystein Weight distribution definitely matters a lot. My 68g BettyNova feels about 65g because it's mid-weighted. Can't wait to hear what others have to say about the Elite!

My shutter wide angle, yo-yo is broken. I don’t know what’s wrong with it. it only spins for like six seconds before it dies. and sometimes it’ll pop back up when it’s not supposed to. What do I do? 😢

Such an awesome yoyo , quistonable weather it's the best yoyo ever as I believe it's really just up to personal preference, some people like inner rim bimetal designs, some like outer rim, some even like rims in the rim of the cup of the yoyo. This design is similar to the iqs and edge 2022.
Waiting for other yoyos to pass these same tests 😴

The real test is testing it in contests, so you know what to do gentry?
Challenge #2 pass but it didn't bind properly, so you got deduction from that, also no horizontal tricks which obviously more stress to yoyo spin time.
The last trick was a horizontal trick 🤔
