You are correct my friend. Toumas is a control freak and gets what he wants, how he wants and if something doesn't go right in his way he'll fire you and go on the next. In my opinion if he fires Floor that will be his classic fuck up of his career as SHE is now the muscle of his band now and it shows. All the previous singers are awesome but Floor is the newbie and takes the cake. Anyhoo.. great comment and great chancel.
@@hektorlinko i will not say that you're not right in your general statement about the quality of the singer. still do i thing noone should ever judge a leader of a band, especially if you do not know for sure what is going on between the bandmembers. i mean there are rumors and some statements, but having a band working is hell of a job and it is a business at the end of the day. they are all trying to make a living out of it - that means on the baseline it is about performance and for music this means people need to be on point and in a line in every aspect to function together as a team. i think this is especially true for music on such a high level.

it´s supposed to be "we will honour the ANGEL in the snow". But it was very good though. You can´t compare it with the original, but it was good for an old song that was sung by Anette.

I was prepared for the worst, but she actually sang this very well. Sure she's not Tarja, and I'd never prefer any other singer for this song, but this was a solid cover. What a brave woman she is to step in the massive shoes Tarja left behind, and in pop metal style, which she sure knew would rise massive resistance among the fans.

You know it's funny that Marco says he doesn't like this song. Tuomas always says he has to bite his lip to play this song. Marco says it's because the vocal lines are "predictable". So is he saying this is more predictable then the melodies in "Amaranth" or "Nemo" which he seems to really like? But then again he doesn't like Oceanborn because the vocals are too operatic. Which is ridiculous because Oceanborn is a far heavier and more metal album than the later stuff.
The live stuff wasn't as good I'll give you that, but I don't see what so so "unprofessional" about the operatic vocals. To get anything done, they had to get his blessing as well and he pretty much represented his own interests it seems more than "representing" Tarja's interests. From what i got out of Once Upon a Nightwish, he would do things behind her back that made it seem she was too demanding when that wasn't the case

But Wishmaster was really good. Amaranth, nemo aren't heavy songs but they aren't lesser creative than the older songs.

I think people are not giving Annette enough credit for her performance. This is a fricken difficult song to sing at the best of times. Her voice merely needs to mature a bit more. If you have complaints go bitch directly to Nightwish.

in the beginning I thought "well, it still sucks in comparison to Tarja", but the last part... it suits the song FAR better when it's sung from passion instead of skill (we can actually believe she wants to "hunt with a tameless heart")
i think i like tarja better for the studio version of songs but live i think anette is better. it seems like theres way more emotion in her voice. then again ive never seen either of them live so this is all based strictly on youtube posts
Well, totally disagree on this. This is not sacrament of wilderness. Completely ruin what i like on this song,it is not how loud you shout it. It is the resonances and harmonic that make the magic. The pitch also do the trick.
Nightwish is having success with Anette Olzon who is more humble, more fun and gives the group a more young Tarja did not give. Tarja's voice was perfect at the time, but acted with arrogance and was expelled from the band.

But before talking about hiting notes, you should sit in front of a piano, and then you would see that these are Not the same notes that Tarja usually sung. This song, with Anette is always sung in a LOWER KEY, than the original Oceanborn version. Tarja's notes where Not these ones, but higher ones. The only time I saw Tarja sing this in lower key, was at the Paradiso Amsterdam 2002 concert (she was probably having health troubles) BOTH are Great!
Mmm might sound better to those more in tune with vocal kind of late 00's , not bad but sounds like manga songs or like Paramore/Lavine meets Nightwish... Definetly not epic but still good.

The difference in the sound is because Anette was trained as a popular singer and Tarja as a classical one, that can make a world of difference!

Anette's version is hmm... "lighter" than Tarja's. Her voice was so powerfull and it made the song quite "heavy". But I really like both versions.

Nightwish is having success with Anette Olzon who is more humble, more fun and gives the group a more young Tarja did not give. Tarja's voice was perfect at the time, but acted with arrogance and was expelled from the band.

I like Nightwish for their music. Not for tarja or anette.
And.. Everyone can understand that Nightwish can't be the same without classical vocals... For me, a classical vocal isn't necessary.
I still prefer Tarja on this song, she has more power in her voice ,in my opinion , but I musst agree with the fact anette made a good job on this song

But before talking about hiting notes, you should sit in front of a piano, and then you would see that these are Not the same notes that Tarja usually sung.
This song, with Anette is always sung in a LOWER KEY, than the original Oceanborn version. Tarja's notes where Not these ones, but higher ones.
The only time I saw Tarja sing this in lower key, was at the Paradiso Amsterdam 2002 concert (she was probably having health troubles)

Mmm might sound better to those more in tune with vocal kind of late 00's , not bad but sounds like manga songs or like Paramore/Lavine meets Nightwish... Definetly not epic but still good.
