Then again, pros do not believe in static def. Terran players, of course, build Planetary win-fortresses cuz they do not know how to play. And zergs spamming spores are just admitting they are unable to play the lategame. And protoss only build cannons when cheesing.
i feel like the worse play that game was him giving up the position that he had... dude was contained with no money and just units that could have been killed off till there was nothing left even losing 78 workers is meaningless when the other dudes workers have nothing to mine
@@GaiaBel 3 cannons, would have done the job, cause of the damage output, phoenixes have like 200hp with full shields, that kinda 6-9 shots depends on armor and shield upgrades
what is going on with your control groups in the first game? Why does control group 2 alternate having a probe in it every couple seconds? Like at 4:27
sry to say but the correct call in the 3rd game is just to put in every base 4 cannons, that the pheonixes loses everytime 1 or 2 units they wanna go for probes thats whould have been the correct call and the addition of 2-3 immortal to break that bunker of him, and btw. 1 Corner base would also would have done the job, just 3-4 cannons near mineral line drogo wouldnt have stand a chance, trust me, thats what the most problme is for most people when they are trying to attack several bases and hold there home. Static defenses.
Ok maybe more than one cannon in your gold bases? Or blink into his main? Or anything but walking up a ramp with a crapton of batteries behind it all the time?
The simple answer is yes. If you have Guardian Shield and 1 more armor upgrade than they have dmg upgrades, then the Phoenixes will deal just 2 dmg (-60%) vs Voidrays and just 1 dmg (-80%!) vs Stalkers, since Stalkers start with an extra armor. If your opponent's units deal 5-6 dmg, it is usually better to go for armor. However, dmg upgrades are more important if you outrange them, have superior micro, or if getting a dmg upgrade will allow you to 2 or 3-hit their units (like when Zealots have 1 dmg upgrade more than Zerglings have armor, then they can 2-hit them instead of 3-hitting them).
34:23 The opponent just needs to kills 2 pylons to un-power 90% of the 100 batteries and cannons but decides to go for one batterie and cannon after the other, why?
More cannons on bases - ez win. Jokes aside, if you build 3 cannon on each base he needs a lot more phoenixes to move outside of his base, that mean less to defend. Also you need start upgrade much sooner.
I don't understand how you can lose with 3 bases, 2 of which was gold, against 1 base. Wouldn't a few cannons at each gold keep him away? Also Tempest the Protoss' siege unit, it should be handy but of that I'm not so sure.
It was 3 bases to 2 then 2 bases to 1 after the mains mined out. Gold mines faster but has less patches. Phoenixes killed tons and tons of probes so a lot of income was spent rebuilding them. I agree that he should've had more cannons at his third.
It's because he couldn't really defend his bases against harassment. This is really the reason why you practically never see people building expansions in unusual locations at the pro level - if your bases are spread out across the map it's very hard to defend all of them. If you send your army to one of them, they'll just attack somewhere else.
It is almost certain that you lost due to the lack of static protection ... The price you paid was the loss of revenue and of course the loss Attacking like Zerg with Protoss has some special flaws ;)
@@Wirmish I've never understood why silver rank people are obsessed with loads of cannons everywhere as Protoss it's only a low rank Protoss thing to do. @@Dimorac 6 is too much, but 2 or 3 would have been game-winning. Easy to say in hindsight, because grandmaster games almost never result in Protoss having active bases from literally top-to-bottom with certain knowledge a flock of uncatchable phoenixes is going to rotate through and gut them all.
I think he could have saved the cannon rush. If he built a pylon to block off surface area for his cannon only 1-3 lings would have been able to hit it.

It happens sometimes, but in high level games they're on top of their production so they dont need the additional robo.
