Let's face it... most portable monitors are there to provide more screen real-estate, but skimp on all other features to save cost. The Intehill 17" 240Hz not only breaks that norm, but has a feature list most OEM Laptop makers could only dream of.
But first... What am I drinking???
From Coldstream Brewery in Victoria, Australia comes the XPA American Pale Ale. I mistakenly mentioned in the review there were no hops from the Pacific Northwest present in this beer. In fact, the beer uses Idaho 7 and Pacifica hops. From the sourbread aroma, to the Lemon Pledge aftertaste, this just was not good at all. (5%)

this would be perfect for those "pc in a pelican case" setups.
I know Im kind of off topic but does anyone know a good website to watch new series online?
@@gregoryabraham6565 Not only does this video/channel have nothing to do with that, but you replied to someone else's comment that ALSO has nothing to do with your comment?
Every time you put in a flash back to an older video its a stark contrast to how amazing your videos are lit now. You've come so far in the last year.
Didn't realize I need such an external display... until I saw your video now...
I ripped the screen off my old lap top, put on a controllerboard, used a square of lineoleum on the backside and then glued on some durable fabric around it.. It is cheap and it does the trick.. Still need to make a stand for it though....
Laptop this, laptop that. Nononono, I'd pair this with a proper mini ITX build for an optimal LAN party experience. Just stuff your desktop PC, monitor, kb, mouse, and headset into your backpack and off you go!
A LAN party?
In 2021?
I haven't even seen my own FAMILY in over a year :(
Very cool monitor! Took a look at their web site and they have many other price points depending on size and speed. Had never heard of this company, glad to know about them! Thanks!
It does look pretty good but I didn't think 350 nits and 1000:1 contrast ratio qualified as HDR
Good Candidate for powerful briefcase PC build?
I had the same thought, I don''t think this even gets near a HDR 400 spec. I could be wrong, though.
All monitor portable doesn't has more than 350 nits as far as I know. But, I have G-Story Monitor Portable with 300 nits HDR and it still looks good for me, just not amazing though
@@RifqiFavian it goes higher than 350. I'm not 100% but I think 500 the max and there are a few about. Uperfect and cocopar do them. Uperfect have one in sale 1080p. Amazon for $200 uperfect.
I wish they released a display port version with vesa mounting lel, 17 inches is an awesome size for gaming up close imo. 24-25 inches is a bit large. One with all the bells and whistles, gsync, vibrant colors, maybe even at least HDR600.
This is nice but i wish they would add touch so I can add this to my mobile
How does this compare to the Zenscreen 16AMT? Anyone?
I just got that zenscreen model and am vastly disappointed with its brightness. Gotta squint to see the screen in front of me, at 300$+ it's absurd. Want to return it and get another, but can't find a quality alternative...?
Why can't these manufacturers equip the monitor with a VESA screw pattern? That way we would attach our own stand.
Personally I'd prefer a good 4k but 16:10 portable display. Always worried they're so cheap that the 3840x2400 resolution isn't always what it says it is.
I would have loved that thing pre pandemic when I was living with a laptop and mostly in hotel rooms for about a year and a half.
This would be a good travel companion for some one with a SFF PC. I've looked at a lot of portable monitors but most of them have horrible short comings that I wasn't willing to put up with. This is undoubtedly the best portable monitor spec wise I've seen outside of the over price ROG one.
I think for many people the purpose of a portable display isn't for a laptop, it's for a SBC or a Mini-ITX PC that doesn't already have a screen in built. This thing is perfect for LAN's to bring your Mini-ITX rig without having to drag along an awkward display. Also would be great for consoles as well, I've taken Xbox's and a small CRT on a train before for a LAN and let me tell you that wasn't exactly a great time.
That said I wouldn't touch this thing with a 10ft pole. Company is unknown that seems to have very little history and I couldn't see anything about a warranty on their website or any credible reviews. I suspect this thing will be like most cheap Chinese products and last about 3 months before it stops working or causes a house fire due to dodgy manufacturing.
The only thing that's missing is a VESA mount, the reason for that would be a portrait-landscape-portrait layout with an ultra-wide in the middle.
Some brands do offer portable monitors that are VESA mountable.
Right, let's fix that.. How do I send you our better Aussie beers?

Try staying indie, though. CUB and Lion have enough money.
How to legally import beer as a gift without offending us customs?
needs moar bush chooks
No need to carry a laptop for a lot of things. Plug in your Android phone with desktop mode and add your favourite mouse and keyboard.
So yes, this is useful
I don't need this, I can hardly do stuff with a single monitor on my laptop but I don't need this. It's better than my desktop monitor but I don't need this.
If I keep telling my self that maybe I will start to believe it...
Honestly, it looks really good. Like, the rocket league footage looks keyed in, that's how good the colors look. But $379 seems a bit much. I don't know if it looks good enough to replace either of the portable monitors I have currently as those combined are still $50 less than this monitor.
That display is beyond what I'd need for a portable and white balance is an abstract concept since I've got one eye that sees blue clearly (through a plastic lens) and one that doesn't (through an aged natural lens). I'd pay a small premium over the cost of a more basic display but not that much.
Perfect LAN party monitor
Thanks for the video !
Now thats some good lighting!
Ooooohhh look who is getting fancy with their beer glasses
Oh I know the flavor of those types of beers,
I do remember you saying that if Bud Copper Reserve was their regular Bug you would drink it.
Great video ! Would be nice to see a 144hz version maybe, as idk if 240hz is really needed for a monitor that would be used during travel or as a second screen.
Watch this one Viewsonic VX 1755 its 144Hz USB-C 👍👍👍
Comparing this to the ASUS model and this is like a bargain. Though monitor names are rarely fun LOL
Yeah, the Asus 240Hz is the closest competitor I can find, and it's $500!
@@CraftComputing Great video. Considering buying the new iPad mini 6 and this looks like it would be a good companion to it .
Crazy good info!!! That's crazy that a monitor can have all that! Sick.
Aside from screen size, this is better than my gaming monitor.
I bought a Pixio 15.5" portable monitor recently and it's actually really nice! I wish it was higher refresh than 60hz, but the picture quality and colors look good, even next to other screens. And it was only $150. Is it as nice as this Intehill? No. But there is no way I would get enough use out of a portable monitor to justify spending $350 on one. I'm using it as a second laptop display for work, and as a gaming screen during a 3200 mile relocation/move this summer.
Hey how is the Pixio for gaming? And the brightness? I want to use it with my Xbox series S in the barracks. Think it is any good?
@@SMRIDER100 I think it is alright, but depending on how long you are deployed, you might want to spring for something like the Intehill. But for $150, I like my Pixio and it is perfect for me and how often I would use a portable monitor like this.
This is the monitor I was looking for. I'm building a mobile gaming backpack
Any chance you could try to work out what panel they used to make this? It looks awesome.
Most likely ips.
The cat made me press the like button.
Lemon dish soap... So... an IPA. Yeah. ;)
Love your videos, thanks for the content!
(feeding the algorithm)
03:56 Mac and gaming in the same sentence... OOHHH the HERESY!!!
What is that Thunderbolt type connection? I think that is just a normal full speced Type-C which can take Display and data input and powering the other OTG USB Port. Since Thunderbolt 3 support USB-C full spec, it would work but so does any type-c port with data and display out functionality. Calling that a Thunderbolt port is kinda misleading.
Is the monitor thin enough for some type of desk stand? What are the OUTER dimensions and how thick is it,, so I'll know if it fits my current stand or if I need to buy a new stand. Thank you!
it seems that intehill and sony have similar naming schemes lol
Can the monitor work vertically?
I still rock the cheaper IPS business LCD's because I can't handle the color inaccuracy or backlight bleed of "gaming" monitors.
Does the 144hz model have the same response times and motion clarity? My laptop display is absolutely trash but with this it would actually be usable for the games I play when I’m away from home.
can i i connect two of these to m1 macbook pro (not m1 pro or max) since m1 supports 1 display officially.
What would be nice in moinors like this(and all monitors that use digital connections) is support for brightness control through the computer. Most of my keyboards have light controls on them but does nothing unless connected to a laptop
@asdrubale bisanzio What if(hear me out) a manufacturer used a software that sent volume controls in a very speciffic pattern or made a single frame overlay in the corners of the screen, sure the audio method would be very inconvenient basically requiring you to run all audio through your TV/monitor. But it should work, and the overlay method would work. Not all HDMI/DP support ARC, but so far as i've been able to tell all TV's ive tried do support remote control over all of the ports, even though only 1 would be labeled ARC. Now monitors might be a different story, maybe remote control is one of those 'soft' standards that every TV manufacturer put on their TVs for better UX, but its not actually part of the HDMI/DP spec, and wouldnt be included in monitors
If there's a 120hz one then I would be interested but 240hz is pointless for me since I'll never fully use that refresh rate in games these days.
They do a 144Hz if you check their website
Hey there amazing video very informative ..... And I love your joystick 🕹️ on the table can I please know where I can get that or atleast the name of it
Gamepad is the 8bitdo SF30. Love these controllers! amzn.to/3tPzSdT
I mean, I am in the market for a portable monitor, which would be primarily used as a secondary display and occasionally when I travel. I even want a color accurate one, and one that goes to 120 Hz would be a nice touch to match refresh rates with my existing monitor...
... but I don't really see the point of a 240 Hz display, a portable 17" display is stretching the limits of the word 'portable' in my mind, it should be 1440p at that size, and that price point is pretty bad. That's way too many strikes against it. :(
Oh, and MiniHDMI is a terrible port, but I've already admitted defeat there.
Anyone know of any good color quality portable displays that might be more 15.6"?
They do do a 144 Hz if you take a look at their website
@@Wirenfeldt1990 I did after you suggested it. While I didn't buy that one, it did lead me to the one I did buy - their QLED model looked pretty much perfect.
Sorry but the sudden 'teleported away' disappearance of your cat was distracting me from this wonderful portable monitor you are highlighting - hard to film when your 'boss' turns up, right? :) Great review video.
He was just keeping an eye on production 😁
3:58 cat.
I am on the market for a portable monitor however, 240Hz and colour accuracy is not something that I require. The I/O ports of that monitor are perfect. Anyone that knows of a monitor like that of decent quality without breaking the bank?
Same here. Did you find one a monitor that worked for you?
This would be great if it had at least 500 nit
My portable workstation uses 1 portable 17 inch 1080p and 1 portable 17 inch 4K. Both are driven and powered and driven via USB C so there is only 1 wire each.
When I eventually replace my 1080p I will be getting something like this.
hmm might be an option for Marvel Revolution gaming while at work on my phone.
Is it wrong that I want to use this as my primary monitor?
My 12 year old monitor is dying, and a pain to carry with my tower when moving between work sites.
I can literally slide this monitor into a pocket on the back of the tower.
_NO... I wont just go buy a laptop!!! They cost more._
Be perfectly fine. Any would be fine. Have a good look around before purchasing. Lots about, he's looking at something very specific. Don't pay for features you don't need. Uperfect have a screen 500nits,1080p, HDR,60hz. $200 on Amazon Inc a $80 off coupon. You're obviously not a person who needs 240hz. I game all the time and 60hz is fine.
Ended up getting one, I downclocked to 200hz to eliminate some ghosting. (within normal ranges though)
HDR is great; In games and work the color space's accuracy is very useful for distinction of different shades and hues...
*But internet videos...*
The video compression is _sooo_ much more pronounced with the higher range of black.
_I'm looking at you RUclips!!!_
I had to go find some uncompressed color space test videos to make sure it wasn't faulty.
Is there a way to get a tripod setup?
Bought this because of this video
Is it a good addition to my Xbox series S? Thinking of buying this monitor
Between this and an oled with 50 more nits
Refreshing to see mobile displays improving.
I literally read ''Intehill'' as Intel for a second
ironically enough you were wearing an Intel t-shirt
What is that thingy in ur profile picture
That beer must have hops from Kansas.
Damn bro you gotta get those Nismo wheels looked at.
so trying sell a Nvme that is called Viper with japanese Nissan is bit weird is it ? probably wanted to show of his NISSAN here. i like the car anyway the Nissan 350z is my dream car this is probably a newer version like a 370z i belive .
Wonder if it would work with a Nintendo Switch through the USB-c and give wired ethernet? Does it have any vesa mount on the back? Would be cool so I can play switch without busting my neck handheld while the rest of the Fam watches the TV.....Also I prefer the pro controller.
lepow portable monitor work with switch
It doesnt have VESA mount
for $350 it better be good lol
why tb? isn't his called usb c alternativ mode displayPort?
This. Being actual thunderbolt is extremely different and It's disappointing to see this incorrect here.
@@funcrusher213 where do you use tb3? You cant use eGPU with m1.
Can't change the channel! No knob, if had knob, no children to turn knob... and no clicker!
This is what the NexDock should have been.
bro did u already know chia mining via hdd nowadays hope you make video of it thank you i know you have a lot of high power xeon and memory pls thank you
I went ahead and ordered one. I was on the fence about the Asus ROG one but I kept seeing people talking about the mount breaking and dead pixel issues. Has yours developed any dead/stuck pixels?
I have the xg17 no dead pixels but there is ips glow that I can make move when I wipe the screen
hi what about the 17.3" 240HZ Monitor, how do their compare
does it come with an integrated ryzen apu in the casing for that price?
if that is your 370z(correct if I am wrong) car hell TF yeah
First! Also, what exhaust is that on the Nissan?
lol, I missed it by this much

Viper ssd. Nissan car. Blasphemy lol.
Since my laptop is carried into data centers to perform installs on high end clustered systems, a standard 1080p 60hz monitor would be the choice for my bag should I decide to add a second montitor.
While I do have two at home, with my VPN VM running in one and my personal stuff on display in the other, so far, since I can only look at one window at a time, I've pretty much stuck with just the laptop without an external display.
So while some may have the need for that sort of display, as you mentioned content creators or gamers, running a few instances of SUPERPutty or similar and my NFS/PXE install server VM hasn't required multiple displays so far.
I thought i heard “into hell” LOL
anybody know if this would work good on a rtx 3070?
HDR?
350nit?
That's... that's really not HDR.
what sorta beer is that? as an australian i’ve never heard of coldstream.
In the Yarra Valley, north-east of Melbourne
would this work with a raspberry pi
will there be a continuation of the Xbox one case pc?
Yes!
Jeff still flaunting his EXPENSIVE convertible.... millenials really do have it too easy!
That car is 17 years old, and was $9,000. I spent the rest of avocado toast.
it supports HDR color spaces but at 300nits it's garbage fake HDR.
It is, which is why I didn't even test the HDR in the video. It's everything else on this monitor that makes it great.
@@CraftComputing the CNC aluminum case is nice but unless you play games like CS:GO competitively the benefit of 240Hz is questionable. the DIY route is cheaper and offers better port options at the very least.
Is it gsync compatible?
That company name reminds me of intel
The embedded farty datsun advert, not so good.
Again, can never expain if you can use as a main with a desktop. You would think this would be the first thing that answer.
