Any members of the American Judiciary should not be elected nor a political appointee.
Professional record, ethics, and certainly enough experience (Justice Barrett) should be the first qualifying standard.

Yep. When Ford pardoned Nixon, I thought someday that decision would come back to haunt us. That pardon was such a bad precedent in so many way and my uncle's law firm in Grand Rapids provided Ford with the legal advice to pardon Nixon.

Brilliant reporting as usual. I only wish the name "Bill Barr" had been mentioned more often. I assume he was the head of the Justice Dept. when this pervasive corruption in Trump's favor was underway.
I miss having a Rachel Maddow show every weekday. Grateful for at least one a week, but I miss having one almost every day.

What this shows is that the checks and balances doesn't work with a cult of personality. That is a SIGNIFICANT weakness in the US government; not just the justice department. You need to go back to having the secon-in-command of every department one from the 'other side', so they can at least provide some oversight. And yeah, that goes both ways. And yeah, it sucks, but the transparency is vital.
