you never fully realize how utterly incredible a GSD is, until you have one. sometimes I think ours can read my thoughts. lol I'm amazed at her tenacity.. best family member ever!
My Penelope was a Shepherd/Collie, and I was lucky enough to have her for 14 years! She would stay in our front yard, and on walks, unleashed, by my side, because she was trained with love. My face was the last thing she saw when it was time to let her go. I STILL miss her, 38 years later❣💔
Our quick-to-train, well-mannered, reliable guardian, and steadfast companion --- was a black lab/black GSD mix, 3 months old, shelter rescue. She looked like a fluffy Golden Retriever, but black coated. We were blessed to enjoy just short of 14 fun and wondrous years with our Juli 💕🐶
German Shepherds are thee best! I had one growing up and as a puppy, she started barking incessantly and when my mom went to look what she was barking at, our neighbors house across the field and on the other side of the trees was on fire and she sensed something was wrong and alerted us. Thanks to her the neighbors house only got minimal damage. They are very smart puppers!! ❤️🐕🦺🐶
The only dogs I’ve owned are German Shepherds and I 100% know every word in this video is true! Your dogs are gorgeous and so intelligent. I love these videos. Thanks!!
This video could be so much better if it didn't keep oscillating between factual and wildly sarcastic. The tone is all over the place and even kids will watch this and find it a jumbled mess. It's not funny if your intent is far from clear. Good luck
@@lawjef where was the Sarcasm? As a Shepard owner i can guarentre this is all just factual. I had to rewatch it to try to find the Sarcasm other then in a very obvious for a joke manner.
I love how you advocate for our favorite breed. Thank you for the fun and the shenanigans AND the public service announcements. They aren't for everybody, but they stole my heart more than 30 years ago and have kept it ever since.
I worked at a pet supplies store for many years & can 100% confirm the danger of their tails. We had one get excited about a treat & he knocked over a display of Beta fish. Thankfully the display only had one fish & I was using a wide mouth water bottle that day.
Great video. Great onformation too. Most folks dont reialize how much time and effort and patience it takes to raise a well nehaved doggo... especially a GSD.. leep up the great videos we love them and my GSD loves them too
I've owned GSDs all my adult life (that's over 50 years!). This video is so true (and so cute!). They are magnificent companions and worth every second of the hard work. But please do your research before buying your first GSD because they are not a dog to be taken on lightly.
We had a retired German Shepherd that my Dad who was in the Air Force at the time brought home just before I was born. Bullet was a wonderful dog to put up with us kids. 🐶🐾 He was an excellent guard dog. When my Mother brought me home from the hospital, he gave me a good sniff. He was also a gentle dog. He loved to lick you. German Shepherds are the best.🐕🐾💕 They may drive you crazy from time to time, but what in life doesn't? 😵 I miss him.❤️😥
Thank you! Recently lost our boy King to liver disease and spine degeneration newly diagnosed. He was a big beautiful boy. This video is all so true . They certainly are a lifetime commitment but their love is worth it. ❤️
Agreed! 100%! I love that you posted this…we have just 1 GSD (getting #2 in May) and even though we did our homework, it was every thing we prepared for and more! But they steal your heart from the moment you hold them and from that point on, you do everything in your power to give them a happy and healthy life. Thanks for sharing this! We are big fans of your babies! (We have finally gotten where we can tell them apart! 😊) And you inspire us to do the things with our baby, that you do with them…you are a very special mom! They are 3 lucky pups! 🩵💜🩵🐾😘❤️
Thanks for your vids! We miss our big old clunky meathead (Stewart). He was a black shepherd, and he was the sweetest, most loving beast ever! Unfortunately at about age 11 he developed a rare degenerative disease, and his connective tissues (ligaments and paws) literally began to break down, deteriorate, and dissolve - and then there was organ failure that followed. There was nothing that could be done, and we eventually had to let him go over the Rainbow Bridge. One of the saddest days of our lives. I still cry thinking about it (4 years later). We miss him terribly! But your videos help us remember what a wonderful beast he was!! Thanks!!
I had a rescue shepherd lab mix. Looked like a shepherd with yoda ears. Had him for 18 wondetful years. When we were in our prime ran with him 20 + plus miles a week, friend took him for long walks when i was at work. He was a great companion, will never forget him
I have always loved your videos. Have had 8 GSD's in my lifetime and I would only disagree with one aspect of your video. GSD's that I have had the pleasure to share life with haven't been stubborn. Yes, you must be the leader of this pack animal. I have a Dutch Shepherd now picts. on my instagram to see. He is almost a year old. Now he is very smart, but boy he can be stubborn and independent. Still wants to be a lap dog though. Thanks for your videos. I love GSD's.
Here's a tip I learned with my last GSD: Ring your doorbell on your way to bed at night. This will clear the dogs off your bed long enough for you to get in and get comfortable.
Lilith from Van wants me to tell you that you are an amazing Ambassador for her and your puppers breed! Every word is all true! Everyone should do research on all breeds and be aware of any breed'ss lifetime commitment to the end. We love your videos so much! Been a follower since day 1!
Ah yes, tails of mass dogstruction. I remember that well. Having 2 GSDs is why my mother would wire the top of the Christmas tree to the moulding near the ceiling...and keep all the breakable ornaments out of tail range. 😂
“…Their tails are weapons of mass Dogstruction” I love this ! Our next door neighbors own 5 GSDs and they’re gorgeous and exactly as you describe. Our Pointer loves playing with them ! 😅😅😅❤️❤️❤️
Never knew you fed them a raw diet. I do the same for my gsd. He’s 11 years old and his back legs are going. Glad you showed the hair because my guy is so hairy. I love your sables. If my guy was dog friendly I’d get another one immediately. Love watching your videos
My GSD's trainer described this breed perfectly saying that they might not always be the best at everything but they're definitely the only ones that can do everything.
If I may, I have two gsd’s anyway, see if this is something to think about trying. Have the dogs sit, take treats and place them around the yard/ house…. Then, release the dogs to find them. I play this with the dogs all the time. You will love what this will teach them. Let me know your thinking. Thank you.
100% agree with you. Only 1 thing... you think your issue with the shedding is bad, we have 2 GSD"s and they are both long hairs. The fur they shed is amazing. I've had a large plastic shopping bag that I use to collect the fur when brushing and we will fill 3 or 4 a year with solid fur. Some years ago I met some people who collected dog fur for spinning and used to make sweaters out of it. Wish I could find them now, could keep them supplied so easily.
I was apprehensive when my husband wanted to get one. Now I'm in love, she is so smart funny and loving. An absolutely amazing breed that until you have one, you have just don't know what your missing ❤
Long ago, when I was a kid, 3 maybe 4 our neighbours had a German Shepherd, in fact it was so long ago, it was an Alsation, anyway they used to let me play with their dog, probably where my love of dogs started, been a long time since then, and now it's getting late, too late for another, but not too late to remember

Ive loved GSDs all my life! When I was working I worked long hours. Retired now but I know I wouldn't have the energy for one. And my house and yard are small. (And, as pack animals, I think people should have at least 2 dogs or a friendly cat or 2) Thank you for sharing your beautiful dogs and humor with those of us who can't have one...or two....or three! 🙂💛
Doing the research on ANY breed before getting them is a must imo. Too many so called owners get a dog based on looks and don’t know shit about the breed.
Your dogs are absolutely delightful; personally I've always preferred the long haired ( smaller ears more in proportion to the head I think), big boned variety but I love them all. In my humble opinion you haven't lived until you've had one or two or more as in your case. I just wouldn't have any other breeds despite some looking absolutely stunning; it's personal traits are what makes it rather unique.
