you can indeed see a lot of similarity between the Sabimaru Moveset and the Spiral Cloud Passage moveset, the latter's description talks about Lady Tomoe, who came from the Divine Realm. It's also seen in Genichiro's heavy usage of said moveset as he was trained by Lady Tomoe herself.
One thing I’ve always had a passing interest in is video games that really use the controls to try to mimic real life combat. It’d be cool to see another game like this but with less health bars, and more posture-breaking. Enemies that can deflect and evade attacks faster and better, but take less blows to actually kill, or even allow the enemies to get a death blow on you. Sometimes when playing Sekiro I felt like I was essentially chopping wood, but I loved the death blow mechanics, where you can avoid armor and just go straight through their weak spot. Kinda like ancient combat with knights, stab through the gaps.
Yeah. This is why I really like Owl as a boss fight, both of them, because he is like, more of an equal footed enemy. Like, he uses all the techniques you would use in a fight: he can Mikiri you, he uses Shinobi tools like Firecrackers and Shurikens, he can jump off of you, I am also led to believe he has access to Sabimaru since how else would he spray poison in the Ashina Castle fight, that too from his hands, and he can even deathblow you if you get posture broken (the one where he steps on your chest and stabs you through the heart)
you are so creative with this stuff, I keep experimenting with everything too and the combat in this game is just as fun as you re willing to make it, but I never realised how well you can dodge with the sabimaru r1, great stuff man I 'm gonna go try it out myself

I have been looking for this. I know that if you attack during the combo it dodges but this guy gets behind the enemy while dodging and I dont know how he does that.
So he is press attack during the prostectic combo when the enemy attacks enstead of dodge to do the whip around lock on. R2 r2 r2 (dont dodge when attck instead)r1 r2 r2 r2 repeat got to be last second like I frames on dodge. right?!?

The Okami warriors in Fountainhead Palace are weak to poison, so I'm pretty sure that he was correct when he said that.
