  • Learn how to steer your scull to stay on course, then watch as world-class rower Charlotte Hollings shows you two methods for turning: one for when you're rowing for recreation and another for when you're racing.
Charlotte is a U.S. National Team gold medalist and the co-owner and rowing coach at Calm Waters Rowing, a rowing camp for beginning and experienced rowers alike.
This video is part of the "Introduction to Rowing Technique" series produced by Calm Waters Rowing on their private lake in Lancaster, Virginia.

The audio levels are really low. Either raise the levels during the lesson, or delete the music from the beginning and end of the video. When I had it loud enough to hear during the lesson, when the music came on at the end, it frightened me, the dog, and my dead grandmother.

This is a great video, but I have to admit I was most impressed with your "rowing backward" technique.

I wanted to learn how to scull a beer, but this will suffice.

    Great backing-down technique.
