with tears in her eyes, she proclaimed her wish to win AGT champions. unfortunately she was denied what she deserved. she went into the show with a prearranged denial of any type of recording contract being attached to her. As such it was obviously in the shows best interest, they thought to have a different act win the show. She was easily the best talent on the show, she absolutely killed it.
There's nothing she can't sing. Very few people would even attempt to take on this song, but Angelina seems to love a challenge. When she did this one I think she was showing the world that she isn't just a "soft" singer that covers old style songs. She can also slide right into the role of pop-diva and own it. I always like to mention with this song... a few weeks after this video was published, Angelina was singing this song with the guy that wrote it for Whitney (David Foster) accompanying her on the keyboard. Great musicians definitely understand what a special person she is.

Her performance of this song was an answer to those (at the time) that suggested she was ONLY a precocious young jazz singer with limited range and wasn't capable of "going big.". My initial reaction was, "Oh no! she has caved to pop culture." As I came to understand, this was actually her statement to the world that she can sing anything she wants in any manner she chooses. She can place her voice exactly where she wants to put it and where she puts it is exactly where it should be. Sometimes reactors will comment that she missed a note or was off a little. The fact is, she is the final (and best) judge on what notes come out of her mouth, and if she sang it, it WAS the right note; the reactor thought that just because it wasn't what they expected, it was a mistake...not so!

I seldom listen to less than 20 of her recordings per day and have not missed a day since first hearing her name. If ever I should see her perform live or (gasp) meet her I truly believe I could not survive such an encounter but would be transformed into pure energy and spread myself outward across the universe in hopes of communicating such beauty to all life forms everywhere. Every performance, every interview, every behind the scenes video, every TV and talk show appearance, every photo, news article, home video........everything saved, catalogued and backed up on RAID volumes and Thunderbolt 3 portable SSD drives. That's just straight Angelina material. I also have the CDs and vinyl albums she has released including her performance on Nico Cartosio's stunning album "Melting" and close to 4,000 reaction videos downloaded catalogued and backed up to redundant sources. It was a huge undertaking! A formidable challenge! And it is a remarkable achievement! That was not a small matter: covering the american best female voice of all time in the most difficult song in her repertoire, because it needs powerful lungs and healthy vocal chords, wouldn't you say?. Angelina met the challenge, addressed it fearlessly, and responded and rose to it, which is no mean feat! It says alot about Angelina's vocal abilities, spirited mind, enormous heart and soulful artist. And it is not the most powerhouse song from her! Because, do not forget: there is The Show Must Go On, more difficult because, regardless of the power needed, there is another requirement: you have to add to the power the most emotional acting of all, deeper than in Bohemian Rapsody, and Angelina did it. By the way, it made our manly friend Hap shed a tear, a particular one, made of admiration for her and thoughtfulness for Freddie Mercury final performance.
She was barely 13 in this tribute to Whitney. This is the best cover of this classic Whitney song that I have heard, and I've heard many. But her young voice is stressed to the max, and that is not good for someone whose voice is still developing, She still accomplished what she wanted to: a beautiful tribute to one of her idols; and laying to rest the criticism that she couldn't go high. As far is I know, she hasn't belted at this extreme again, and that's a good thing. Remember, Whitney was 29 when she recorded this, and her voice was fully mature. I found a mash up of AJ and Whitney on this song, and most of the time I can't tell who is singing. Their tone is very similar. You raised a question about freedom that I could respond to, but I would end up writing more than anyone would care to read. You are a true fan of AJ, and you have been consistent and disciplined in your journey through her library of songs. I applaud you for that. 😊💕
As had been sayed by many before, Angelina does not show off. She just deliver what she think the song need, this song needed a lot of power and high notes. At 13 deliver a performance like this is just mind blowing, there cant be many adult profesional singer that could have done it better.
There is a long way from TV journalist´s and many singer´s rehearsed arm movements ........ And Angelinas. I do not think she even thinks about them. They're just music like the rest of her.
The human body (if allowed) can play it's own expression of the words being sung. Her body expression is often a visual addition to the vocal expression. Other places I have observed her gathering up her whole body energy to assist in the delivery of her powerful notes.

As you mention we are a large group of fans following Angelina, we have been touched by her in the same way you so elegantly describe. Hap..I sometimes wonder hat she will be capable of in 10 or 15 years..when I do my eyes widen and I get chills! I've been waiting for this performance to come up on your list for a reaction. It is amazing on so many levels. This is a peek into the future and what Angelina's status as a global superstar will bring to the world. She is otherworldly for certain. I'm reacting to your reaction, as you go. I agree, any artist, if put into a box, will wither away. I've gone back and listened to Whitney Houston sing this song; compared Angelina to her. It's not possible. Whitney's version was great for the decade, for the movie. She was definitely "the bar" for her time. Donna Summers was also an incredible singer on par with Whitney. I am not taking anything away from Whitney when I say this, but Angelina has taken this song to another level. It could be that music styles change and evolve, but her VOICE is captivating. AJ makes you FEEL. Just feel. So many emotions. I loved Whitney. She could reach high notes, she was beautiful, and sadly, she was left unprotected by the industry. Angelina doesn't need to rush. She's holding him around his neck, and you realize, this exceptionally talented musician is a baby! She was about 6 years old, maybe. I'm a school teacher, and I see a lot of children. Most of the supremely talented ones are the quietest ones in the room. I see that in AJ. She's very shy. Angie has a very deep voice for a female singer, especially for her age. Here she is pushing her high end. There are other videos where she explores the low end. I generally listen to her for that beautiful melodic tone and vibrato, but it's nice to see her working on the range.

Angelina went to America got talent for the Champions season, she really wanted to win this show beyond the exposure she gets there, since agt her Instagram has gone up from 70,000 followers to 170,000 followers. In terms of audience she won the show, but because she did not want to sign a contract with Simon then she was not allowed to win first place. She has 3 appearances there that say it all at first she smiled and slowly realized it was not going to happen because she did not want to sign a contract with them. (A.G no.1)❣

It’s awesome that she did this as a proof point that she can belt on par with the greatest in one take with no post-production (it would be interesting to search for a live rendition by Whitney to see how it compares). As far as I know (and I would really like to be wrong), this was a one-off performance of this style, just like I Put A Spell On You was. Guess that’s why they say she has a thousand voices. When you get to her AGT stuff, you’ll see that it’s quite different from what came before and, to my mind, unlike any other artist.

I won't live to complete it but I'm hoping to have it in good enough shape by the time I blast off (I'm 65 so my tour of duty here is nearly up and I expect new orders to arrive in the next couple of decades.) so that someone or some appropriate group or organization can finish it and preserve it for all who follow. I honestly believe Angelina deserves nothing less. She is a gift from God to be treasured always.

She's spot on when it's time to make an entrance to the melody, but otherwise she carries the lyrics at her own pace, not adhering to anything she might have heard, just making this her song, her performance, and giving it her meaning. She was devastated, and sang "You were always on my mind" for him. She broke down at the end, but it will move you, unless you're an android, and maybe even then. Now as to AGT, her Parents, and Grandmother, wouldn't let her sign the contract, nor would they sign for her, so she couldn't win. She says on the video that she was a fan of Simeon, and came just to sing for him. She arranged her own version of Bohemian Rhapsody, and even composed the melody line, You're right, had she been able to compete, she'd have dominated the competition. It says alot about Angelina's vocal abilities, spirited mind, enormous heart and soulful artist.
And it is not the most powerhouse song from her!
Because, do not forget: there is The Show Must Go On, more difficult because, regardless of the power needed, there is another requirement: you have to add to the power the most emotional acting of all, deeper than in Bohemian Rapsody, and Angelina did it.

She was barely 13 in this tribute to Whitney. This is the best cover of this classic Whitney song that I have heard, and I've heard many. But her young voice is stressed to the max, and that is not good for someone whose voice is still developing, She still accomplished what she wanted to: a beautiful tribute to one of her idols; and laying to rest the criticism that she couldn't go high. As far is I know, she hasn't belted at this extreme again, and that's a good thing. Remember, Whitney was 29 when she recorded this, and her voice was fully mature. I found a mash up of AJ and Whitney on this song, and most of the time I can't tell who is singing. Their tone is very similar. You raised a question about freedom that I could respond to, but I would end up writing more than anyone would care to read. You are a true fan of AJ, and you have been consistent and disciplined in your journey through her library of songs. I applaud you for that. 😊💕
As had been sayed by many before, Angelina does not show off. She just deliver what she think the song need, this song needed a lot of power and high notes. At 13 deliver a performance like this is just mind blowing, there cant be many adult profesional singer that could have done it better.

I do not think she even thinks about them. They're just music like the rest of her.
The human body (if allowed) can play it's own expression of the words being sung. Her body expression is often a visual addition to the vocal expression.
Other places I have observed her gathering up her whole body energy to assist in the delivery of her powerful notes.

As you mention we are a large group of fans following Angelina, we have been touched by her in the same way you so elegantly describe. And yes, Angelina will be a major superstar because she convey emotions in a song, in such a way that no other artist do. In this tribute she shows that she can belt if she wants to. I'm reacting to your reaction, as you go. I agree, any artist, if put into a box, will wither away. I've gone back and listened to Whitney Houston sing this song; compared Angelina to her. It's not possible. Whitney's version was great for the decade, for the movie. She was definitely "the bar" for her time. Donna Summers was also an incredible singer on par with Whitney. I am not taking anything away from Whitney when I say this, but Angelina has taken this song to another level. It could be that music styles change and evolve, but her VOICE is captivating. AJ makes you FEEL. Just feel. So many emotions. I loved Whitney. She could reach high notes, she was beautiful, and sadly, she was left unprotected by the industry. Angelina doesn't need to rush. I'm thankful her family has stood firm. I watched a short clip of Angelia back stage before a performance. She's speaking to what looks like media. Slowly she approaches her father (?) who understands immediately what she wants. He picks her up and carries her away from the spotlight. She's holding him around his neck, and you realize, this exceptionally talented musician is a baby! She was about 6 years old, maybe. I'm a school teacher, and I see a lot of children. Most of the supremely talented ones are the quietest ones in the room. I see that in AJ. She's very shy. She knows speaking to the media is part of her journey, but I don't think she'll ever be comfortable with it. Please react to Wicked Game, a Chris Isaac cover. There are two versions. Angie has a very deep voice for a female singer, especially for her age. Here she is pushing her high end. There are other videos where she explores the low end. I generally listen to her for that beautiful melodic tone and vibrato, but it's nice to see her working on the range.

I liked that as much as Whitney's. In 5-10 years it will be even better. She is fantastic! Her ability to transcend genres is mind-bending. This was a great tribute by a spectacular singer to another in that master class.

Angelina went to America got talent for the Champions season, she really wanted to win this show beyond the exposure she gets there, since agt her Instagram has gone up from 70,000 followers to 170,000 followers. In terms of audience she won the show, but because she did not want to sign a contract with Simon then she was not allowed to win first place. She has 3 appearances there that say it all at first she smiled and slowly realized it was not going to happen because she did not want to sign a contract with them. (A.G no.1)❣
I heard much the same thing Simon Cowell gets winners to sign a contract and he is doing very well. I think the "Yellow Brick Road" choice was telling Simon sorry I'm not one to pass around.I have a lot of faith that Angelina will do very well without Simon.

It’s awesome that she did this as a proof point that she can belt on par with the greatest in one take with no post-production (it would be interesting to search for a live rendition by Whitney to see how it compares). As far as I know (and I would really like to be wrong), this was a one-off performance of this style, just like I Put A Spell On You was. Guess that’s why they say she has a thousand voices. When you get to her AGT stuff, you’ll see that it’s quite different from what came before and, to my mind, unlike any other artist.
Angelina is the angel of world piece., she is an inspiration for the world., she is a god given gift. She has a calling in life to bring piece on earth., and she is going to achieve this goal., I have followed her sense she was 6 I automatically knew she was special now as you are finding out.
