Hiking Hunlen Falls (Canada's Highest Free-Falling Waterfall!)

- Austin and I knew we had to do something special to celebrate our first-ever wedding anniversary. So in the summer of 2019 while visiting Bella Coola, BC, we hiked 36 kms round-trip in a SINGLE DAY to get to Hunlen Falls, Canada's highest free-falling waterfall at over 850 feet! Because what's more romantic than a giant waterfall? We'd dreamed of doing this hike for a long time, and it's one of the coolest adventures and accomplishments we've ever shared together. I even caught a potentially once-in-a-lifetime fish from the lake near the top on my Rod of Destiny!

Nice video! What time did you start hiking? Did you encounter any bears?
Thank you! We started just after dawn, and it was dark by the time we got home again. A very long, exhausting day, but super fun! Thankfully we didn't encounter any bears, but were prepared with bear spray and bangers just in case.

Thank you so much! 😊 It was a whole day adventure. We left our cabin before dawn and didn't get back until after dark.
