    Consider an “expressed prostatic secretions test” to formally test your prostatic fluid for bacteria that may not respond to Ciprofloxacin.
    If no bacteria are present, consider proper testing for a fungal infection.
    → 2013 study reviewed in the PSA: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...
    → 2018 case study of a man who suffered from chronic prostatitis symptoms for 20 years being successfully treated with an anti-fungal regimen, you can share this with your physician: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...
    → 2006 paper detailing how to diagnose & treat fungal infections in chronic prostatitis (your physician may be able to access the full paper if you cannot): pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16930...
    If you have truly ruled out bacterial or fungal infections, consider researching more about prostatic massage as well as saw palmetto and its partnered supplements.
    → Learn more about prostatic massage and other treatment options here: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/arti...
    → Learn more about saw palmetto, stinging nettle root extract, quercetin, and curcumin here: prostate.net/saw-palmetto-pro...
    → Pygeum bark may also be worth researching
    Remember that supplements, like all other drugs, have inherent risks and potential side-effects. Do your research, talk to your providers, and make safe, informed decisions about your health.
    Finally, remember that a pelvic floor spasm and other forms of pelvic dysfunction can mimic the symptoms of prostatitis. However, it is important to rule out true bacterial or fungal infection first because, even though treating the spasm secondary to the infection may improve some symptoms, the spasm will NOT fully dissipate until the underlying infection is treated.

      Thank you so, so much 🧡this topic is so niche, I just wanted to cover it since it was requested and I've been doing some male pelvic health stuff recently. I really hope I can generate more views/traction this coming year! Keith and I are finally feeling like we did in the end of 2019, when I was about to jump into all Pelvic Empowerment things full-time, we were going to live in our RV, and he was going to do travel nursing. I feel I haven't really "gotten a chance" to try in the way that I want to, given the series of events that unfolded and changed our plans (namely my injury and the state of the world). Hopefully I can give it an honest shot and see what happens - but your support means so much, thank you, sincerely!

      Hello. I came across your interesting channel.
      I have been diagnosed with bacterial chronic prostatis.
      It has been 8 years. Pain only goes after Ejerculating.
      Urologist done seman sample & came back with infection.
      Have only been given Antibiotics twice ONLY for 5 weeks for a chronic infection of 8yrars & they didn't work. (But pain went away for many months after & then came back)
      just wanted to know if a Regular prostate Massage aswel as supplements like saw palmeto along with prostate Massage & Long course of Antibiotics can help?
      Someone have any opinions?
      Thanks.

    I had a seman culture done, would that be the same as a prostatic fluid test as the fluid amd sperm are combined in a seman culture?

    • @PelvicEmpowerment
      @PelvicEmpowerment  2 года назад

      That's another really good question, and one that I also am not sure of the answer. These sorts of diagnostic tests are outside of my scope of practice, as I am not a physician. However, from what I read, this kind of test seemed different than a sem-en culture... or maybe the collection of the prostatic fluid is the same (in that you collect it in sem-en), but the way the test is run is different? Again, I'm not sure, but it seemed different to me in some way.

      I'm so sorry that you're struggling with PN, too. My nerve pain is continuing to improve, although I did get a UTI recently that aggravated it a bit. Thank you so much for asking! It's a long road to recovery, but I truly believe it's possible to recover 🧡

    Can fungi cause nerve pain?

    • @PelvicEmpowerment
      @PelvicEmpowerment  2 года назад

      That's a really good question, and one that I do not know the answer to specifically; however, fungi can cause prolonged inflammation, and inflammation can cause nerve pain! Inflammation can also cause muscular spasm, which can cause nerve compression, which can cause nerve pain! I'm not sure that fungi themselves can, but they can certainly be the catalyst theoretically!
