Skateboarding, partying, and all the Hijinx that comes along with it. It all started with Reynolds and Strickland, wanting to use all the bits and pieces left over from the iconic Birdhouse video The End; mashing together all the chaotic b-roll, and skate clips which didn't make the cut. Deciding together to call the video Baker Bootleg, a new and influential skate brand was born. Parting from Birdhouse, Andrew began working on the new company with some help from Tony Hawk.
Baker Bootleg went out on its own, creating the video Baker 2G. Soon, Andrew Reynolds and Jay Strickland weren't seeing eye to eye, and decided to part ways as companies; Jay, keeping Bootleg, and Andrew taking Baker. Jay would later mention that he still holds resentment for Reynolds continuing to use Strickland's artwork for the now infamous Baker logo, without even paying a dime in royalties to Jay.
Baker is now considered one of the most influential players in the game, with videos like Baker 3, Bake and Destroy, and the now infamous Baker 4 being noted as videos which inspired a whole generation of skateboarders.
Additionally, they've had a firing team from the start, and Andrew seems to have a knack for picking Ams who had the potential to have long and impact careers. With a team consisting of skaters like Jim Greco, Dustin Dollin, Erik Ellington, Antwuan Dixon, Terry Kennedy, Kevin Spanky Long, Figgy, Beagle, and with new up and comers like Kader Sylla or Ty Peterson.
That said, the team has also had some bright stars who faded before their time, like Knox Godoy or Evan Hernandez; talented kids who seemed to fade away to personal issues and struggles.
In 2007, Baker launched Bakerboys Distribution, and assisted in launching Deathwish, and ShakeJunt. Greco and Ellington moved to Deathwish, taking Dixon along with them, launching the new company. Baker and Deathwish share healthy relationship as sister companies, creating videos such as Baker has a Deathwish over the years.
Now, with Baker 4 showcasing new talent, it's safe to say that Baker has a bright future ahead. Спорт
My fav baker clip ever is Terry Kennedy pulling that check out his pocket after grinding a rail and yellin “that’s why I got this MF!!!!”
Baker 3
Why ppl hatin? Ahah that’s not my fave but that’s up there.
After skating for 1 year pulls out the vans check 🤣 not a dumb clip
@Thomas Pynchon dats dont make sense
*that's how
“EAT DAT SHRIMP!!!”- Antwaun Dixon
A truly classic quote
Dustin Dollin taking the shot of jager then barging that handrail outside the bar. You got yer Jager...
Man thinking back Baker really pretty much owned the skateboarding world in the 2000s.. so much of my teenage yrs and early adulthood nostalgia seeing all these riders and videos again.
Still own it. Deathwish is the sickest thing out right now. I might be biased though. I watched baker 3 for the first time in forever last night.

Antwuan Dixon nollie heel Carlsbad and his entire Baker 3 part will be legendary forever. Dustin Dollin's part as well. There will never be a skate video as iconic again.
I think the craziest thing I learnt researching for this vid, was that Antwuan filmed that part in 3 months, it makes no sense.
@@ShredzShop yr vid just said it was filmed in 2 months
@Christian Prince That's what I thought, I didn't believe it when I was researching, but both Reynolds and Beagle talk about it in interviews. Legendary.
BAKER2G is WAAAYYYYYY more iconic. OG
Melvin the Mop Boy nah
The history is amazing especially if you’ve grown up skating, watching all the VHS tapes and buying the magazines. It’s great to think back at forgotten memories. But damn, the new gen skaters are technical af.
Yea dude this video brings back so many memories. Pretty much my whole childhood growing into an adult. Started skating in 99 when I was 10 which was right before Reynolds left Birdhouse for Baker so all this is super nostalgic.
You can’t just keep leaving us hanging with that cramps song 🥺
I know,, I’m just waiting for it to continue and it just …
I'd like to see one of these about Anti-hero.
Diaramamond same
came to say this
Same
Majority wins
I just came from the anti hero vid !
Feel bad for Knox. Think being exposed too all the crazy shit at a young age played a part in his downfall
I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Daxton Winston thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process now.
Takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Daxton Winston it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account!
@Dominik Jericho happy to help xD
@@daxtonwinston8523 does this work for old Gmail accounts?
"BAKER" giving skateboarding a bad name since 2000! 🤘⚡💯
Baker has a death wish was my favorite baker tour! Cause when they were touring, they came to my hometown skatepark when I was a little girl, and you can eventually see baby me standing at the top of the staircase that everybody skated
My favorite Baker clip is probably Jim Greco's part in Baker 3. It was a pretty sick part, and I just love his skateboarding style of "always looks like he's about to fall off his board."
It starting off with Greco fighting the security guard for his board made me knew it was gonna be good.
Not technically a Baker clip, but in Emerica Stay Gold. Reynolds frontside flips this giant 3 block, and rolls away smoking a cigarette casual as fuck, and I'll never forget how subtle, yet ballin that was.
I know the clip, so good!
Filmer’s should get paid. That’s his work.
$10,000 for four years of filming? Shit, you could make that in a year working weekends at McDonald's.
In hindsight, that Heath footy is worth millions
Right? $10,000 seemed pretty reasonable to me
Gay bird moment
LOL!!!!
yessir
I never thought about it until now, but I wonder if that was meant to be them taking a jab at Alien Workshop and their style of videos...
Favourite baker clip: Dollin's FS flip wallride in Baker 3
my favorite clip is in bootleg when Dustin says "it's unusual to see boulala draaaaankin""
Dustin Dillon’s Jager shot clip from Baker 2G. “You got your Jager!” Hahaha. Another, Dustin Dollins kickflip 50. He commanded that catch. I enjoyed how they built up to that by showing a couple flip tricks down the same set, including a kickflip. Always hit different when I watched that part. On top of all that, Children of Bodom (RIP Alexi) was one of my favorite bands at the time. So to see metal in a skate video was still kinda rare and got me stoked.
That was actually Baker 3
@@spitsomefire You right, you right, my b.
Favorite lesser known Baker fact: Paul Rodriguez was pro for baker for like a week before riding for Plan B
😂😂😂
Bullshit
No way
yep. it was never officially announced and there were no P Rod baker graphics, but for an extremely short period of time that was actually the situation before P Rod joined plan B
Saiyamanmc would have fit the team so well
Baker lives on the dark side of life... good thing a lot of the og riders have cleaned up their acts
For four years of his time, $10,000 isn’t shit!
I agree. Plus you factor in gas and expenses...
Shredz Shop Gas, cameras, lenses, food, tax, tolls, vehicle maintenance, mini dv tapes, generator... hours and hours of filming and they broke his balls over 10 grand... lol
And it's the most iconic skate part ever hands down
For 1 year 10k ain’t shit
@@Thehyfyvideo yes but 10k from 20 years ago were a lot more than now bro
Baker 3 is one of the best skateboard videos out. Still to this day
It was the first skate video I watched, I don't skate but I'm really into it all. Grew up around it, maybe one day I'll skate but for rate now I'm shit at skating.
"Baker! B- B- B- Baker!" -Homeless guy
Baker baker
I thought I would know everything from this video, but I was pleasantly surprised! Keep up the good work
your videos deserve way more recognition!!! This is really good quality keep it up!
Jacopo also killed it in BAKER 4. Along with the music, it is absolutely the best part.
Thanks for your service Dude!!!!! Great Job!!!
Bubbles talking about bombing a hill while being wasted... my new favorite. lol
“Weed saves lives!” - Braydon S
Haha
Oh dude, Baker Bootleg! I totally forgot about their collab days, I've got one of their vhs from the skate shop when they upgraded to DVD when I was young. Taking me back baby!!!! It was rad there was a kid our age raging it up
One of my favorite baker clips. Reynolds lands a clip down Wilshire. I wanna say it was a full cab but he did so many tricks down wilshire it’s hard to remember which one it was. The baker 3 theme starts playing. TK is yelling “he put the capital B in Boss!” Smoothly transfers to TKs part and a new nickname for Reynolds is born.
This was dope man love watching shit like this
Thanks for watching everyone and people to showing up for the premiere!! Remember to shoot us questions or comments below AND let us know what your favorite Baker Video clips are!!!
Shoutout to Mike Maldonado, Sammy Baca, greenroom connects.
@@bmans1 my first pro board was a Maldonado Word Industries.
Great vid man. 👌🏻
Antwaun Dixon's part in Baker 3 is godlike !
just what i needed rn
when you played Steamer in thps 1, chose the BOOTLEG deck and Shredz! yeaah!
"Friendship" "community" .... hard drugs and drinking.
with friends! lol
Nothing wrong with drugs.
New drinking game everytime he says classic chug a beer! lol but on a serious note good vid homie!
9:36 is not a clip of Mikey Taylor that's Justin Case who was also on City Stars who was smooth as hell.
That was actually really good! ;)
ANY Andrew Reynolds frontsideflip is my fav BAKER clip
sick video, learnt a lot. Thought I knew a lot about baker but turns out not really hahaha Thanks dude
Glad you enjoyed! Two new 14 things coming this month! 👊🏻🚧
all of a sudden these things come to light!
well its good since we all need something to watch as were stuck inside, not being able to skate
This is interesting. I didn't know a lot of this.
I knew that Andrew Reynolds started and Tony Hawk was a big supprter. When Reynolds wanted to bring in Riley Hawk he called Tony and Tony was hyped for Riley. I honestly didn't understand how good Riley was until I went back and watched old baker videos.
Wow it is amazing to see Eric Ellington , Andrew Reynolds ,Jamie Thomas were some of my favorite skaters as a kid I used to ride zero boards but I quit about a year after misled youth came out from a knee injury used to skate Black Magic grip tape independent trucks this video brought back so many memories thanks 💪🔥🔥🔥
Stoked you enjoyed!!! 🙌🏻👊🏻
Great vid
Good vid man. Subbed
Thank you!! 🙌🏻 lots more vids like this coming
So sick!!!
Hell yeah, that was sick.
Your videos are awesome! Keep it up
Thanks Jochem! We have 2 more coming next month, both with iconic skate brands from the early 2000's!
@@ShredzShop Cant wait!
5:30 shoutout to the man wearing the furnace shirt. its my favorite and local skateshop
Seal beach! Woop woop
yeahhh!
Andrew Reynolds frontside flipping Hollywood high I wanna some day be able to recreate that
Knox Godoy is the son of Steve Godoy one of the notorious Godoy Brothers from the 80s
Jesus i feel old thinking about how pumped i was watching dollins part in baker 3 when it first came out
you should make one about IC
My favorite deck was Reynolds’ ghost face deck. I had the tshirt from Birdhouse with the graphic. It was too big for me, cause I was 11 years old, but I wore it to school anyway. I also traded a World Industries flame boy tshirt for a deck from a friend back then.
I never knew that about Heath's footage for sight unseen. That was a legendary part
Good shit.
Any clip with Neen Williams in it I could watch all day...dudes such a beast, and a really cool guy!
Thats my highschool. Class of 05 so you know i was right in the middle of this chaos back in the day!!
Baker brand of skateboard is simply amazingly 🎉
i dig these guys. they chill
These are actually nice. Go even more into detail.
i actually still have terry k's ice cream sneakers.
Icecream is billionaire boys club sister company, not BAPE. Love the videos. Keep it up 👍
The tre flip that antuwan lands in Baker 3 right before the stairs. Like right after that controlled power slide two kicks and a clean ass tre. That got me into skating. And right after that clean ass tre flip, the "DIRTY..... HAAARRY"
Tk's intro monologue to his baker 3 part. Epic
Spanky Killing it now!!
One of my all time favs!!
@@ShredzShop same for me!!
So many people get good at skating and lose it all partying. All my skate friends quit to pursue drugs full time. Skating by yourself is no where near as fun.
bro you said "ACTUALLY" 700,000 times
He did actually
actually?
I remember going to the BAKER DEMO out here in LA Chinatown area, fond memories.
That’s tough. T-funk hill bomb to wall ride
TFunk’s FUNK OUTTA HERE. Crazy skating love it
Favorite clip..............all of it!
Bro did you buy Yondos J Cole beat??? I make music and skateboard so that connection would be super dope considering I freestyles to that beat like 500 times
Good Shit.
My personal fav video part from BAKER 3 is Spanky's video part and Jim Greco's video part.
Speaking of Jim Greco, he also had a lost video part from BAKER 3 where he skates to Bohemian Rhapsody.
(Sorry if did the wrong use of “speaking of” I'm still working on my grammar.)
Both from baker 3 - the part at the beginning of Herman’s part where the music kicks in and he hard flips that set, and the beginning of Reynolds part with the fs flip.
cool vid
Give me your camera 😂 lol
Another thing about the name "BAKER". Ali Boulala inspired them for it. He was known as the baker boy
Probably Dustins part on baker3 after he drjnks jeagermeister and 50-50s a 12 stair or shane heyls part on baker has a deathwish
2:53 reynolds wasn't very good at drinking, and that made no sense at all to Dustin Dollin
I played theotis beasley skate before his part on skate 3 came out. Got him to like S-K-A He was with Andrew Reynolds at Sylmar high school that day. PRod and Kareem Campbell were also there. Had to be like 03’ or 04
just finished watching baker 4. it's a good video. but a few people are mad that there wasn't hijinxs and not alot of the old skaters having full parts.
all those buttery smooth Frontside Flips the Boss hammers down.
Did I hear that correctly when he mentioned terry Kennedy thanked everyone EXCEPT Andrew Reynolds. 🤔
Yeah, in the clip where he announced he quit Baker, he thanked everyone on the team, except Reynolds. Then, he smiled. He also replied to someone's comment with, "I don't like Andrew Reynolds."
Brad hayes part from baker2g!!! I'm gonna go watch it right now!!!
Yo Levy where did the 12 Things You didn't know About Tas Poppas video featuring Tommy Honk go?
The deathwish logo is from one othe old death wish movies with legendary action star Charles Bronson. Death Wish 3.
Baker's doing a new collab with Sunday bikes, which I thought was pretty cool.
Didn't the Ride Channel end up doing a version of that reality show?
Levi actually owns a hair salon called Sunday, so he has the Baker X Sunday board hanging up in there! We couldnt even get em in Canada, so he had to get it online.
Im not sure on the ride Channel show, that's a good question.
@@ShredzShop That's rad. I haven't seen them here in Australia. I just remember seeing them being promoted by Sunday on Instagram.
I want to go back an have a look because I remember watching a series like that in about 2012. I can't remember if it was on Ride Channel or not.
One of my favorite clips is when Dustin Dollin takes a shot skates out the bar and 50s that rail like nothing!
2 clips spliced together btw
Grecos sick line looking like the fonz in baker 2 back 360 the gap
trailer park boys is based in my hometown, best colab a company could do
Every few months I watch that show cause it's so iconic and good
"Yall know what's about to bang y'all over the head". Intro.TK
Can’t do a favourite clip but fav part has to be dollins in baker has a deathwish
Fav Baker clip is Antwaan's opening line in Baker 3 part.
Dustin Dollin’s part in Baker 3 goes so hard.
Reynolds FS Flip over the Hollywood 16 Rail
WizardDoom I love that clip too, and it pans over to that lady filming it on her handy cam and laughing!!
#firsttrickender
Seriously, that is that gnarliest intro to a part. He didn't need to film anything after that but I'm glad he did. The Frontside flip down that 21 was amazing too
Melvin the Mop Boy 18
@@MrBiggysmalls87 yeah not the first trick but somewhere in the part he fs flips a 20 or 21 set, they show it then replay it a couple times. It's epic af! Said he got that one first try
Tyler Dombrowski it was an 18. I counted it over a decade ago.
