We did not know at the time we were watching what was to become a classic show. I think it aired on friday evenings and everyone I knew was always in front of a tv watching it.
Truly... the scriptwriters were geniuses. Such a pity that across the board this kind of entertainment has degraded to where we would rather watch ol Fred than the crowd of today.
The best part of this episode when they had the reception at the junkyard and the family came back to take their gifts back. Fred and Aunt Hazel fighting was hilarious LMAO
That was the funniest part of that episode. "I've fought heavyweights before"...lol. I think that's the episode where when they all left and Woodrow had the bottle turned up drinking out of it
When Lamont’s Uncle said “I bet you felt like a real fool standing up there because you sure did look like a fool”....that cracks me up every time I heard it. Funny then as well as today...

One of my other favorites was when Aunt Esther and her crew of church ladies threw out the gangsters who were trying to use Fred's place for a speakeasy. 😊

Cousin Emma came to freeload and kept coming down the steps "walking crooked" because of her arthritis. But she kept promising a "nice breakfast" which she never made. Glad to find another S&S fan. 😊
