ABOUT SANFORD AND SON: The highest-rated half-hour series in NBC history at the time, Sanford and Son stars Redd Foxx as the cantankerous sexagenarian Fred Sanford and Demond Wilson as his son Lamont, also his business partner in the family junk-dealing business. To prevent his son from leaving home, and bent on having things his own way in general, Fred often calls upon such ruses as fake heart attacks or phony back ailments. Lamont usually sees through these subterfuges, but because he loves his father, he lets him think he's getting his way.

Oh the smiles/laughs and joy this show brought me/us all. How little back then did we know how privileged we were...to know and experience real comedy (genius).
We did not know at the time we were watching what was to become a classic show. I think it aired on friday evenings and everyone I knew was always in front of a tv watching it.

I loved this Show and it brought many, many laughs to me and my ears. Like an old saying says. You don't miss something until it's gone and I really miss those times. Sanford and Sons was an Iconic Hit show. RIP to all the cast members that aren't with us.

@@richiec.7637 Yeah, the party with the cake thrown out and hitting Aunt Hazel. That was classic. I didn't say this scene in the video was my favorite and most memorable scene. Just one of many. One of my other favorites was when Aunt Esther and her crew of church ladies threw out the gangsters who were trying to use Fred's place for a speakeasy. 😊

Cousin Emma came to freeload and kept coming down the steps "walking crooked" because of her arthritis. But she kept promising a "nice breakfast" which she never made. Glad to find another S&S fan. 😊
@@rozchristopherson648 Yes, a classic. And she'd describe all what she was going to make. I had a friend who died relatively young (37) and he LOVED that episode. And Grady gave up Lamont's bedroom for her. A lot of those episodes with just Grady are classics.
