Is sanding boring? Perhaps. Many people would probably agree with that. However, to me, it shows the intensity of the work that must be done so that the final part is the painting! I'm not a paint and body guy, just an old wannabe! I love the hard work that's needed to get that final result! I have an old 78 GMC 4x4 that needs this exact same work! I wish your grandpa was here to guide me! I loved the video and the hard work!

You should never add extra hardener to your paint, over hardening can cause the paint to be more brittle than it should once dry, which makes the paint crack and chip much more easily. The ratios are as such for a reason, automotive parts tend to flex and the paint needs to stay a tad bit pliable to be able to move with the panel without cracking the paint. Contrary to popular belief, automotive paint is not nearly as "hard" or "stiff" as many people think, but actually quite flexible without cracking.

      Hey, Mikey,
I have been painting since I was in High school early 80's, my first paint gun was from Kmart go ahead and laugh, then I had a bit more money I bought a better gun,It was a Sharpe I used my ole Kmart gun for priming, and the Sharpe for painting but to be honest I think that there was times that my cheap gun sprayed better a lot of it is the paint that we use, Valspar I found that sprayed good.
I have Sad news to share my Kmart gun expired last month but I had a new Binks gun, on order I new that time was near.
