That boss's ambient noise honestly was surprisingly creepy to me back in the day. It's like, you can hear it from far away, and it belongs to such a strong and powerful enemy, it sends shivers down your spine!
Oh man. Talk about bringing back some memories. I bought, what was at the time, a state of the art computer JUST so I could play this game. Back then, there wasn't as much available to build your own gaming PC's. The HOURS I spent flying through those tunnels. You fly it like I did, full speed ahead with skill knowing what's around every corner. lol I still have the original diskettes for this game. It was one of the funnest "first person shooters" of that era. Thanks so much for this great, "blast from the past."
a tip to save energy is that firing your laser costs half an energy while a flare costs a whole. This has always been my favorite game, descent 2 is also amazing just because of the gauss cannon but altogether, amazing game and series.
If I had all those hours back again life might be different!! Still the best game ever. I used to load up all stores and save my best game outside the red door and keep going back in until I got him.
Played tons of hours of this qith my cousin on dial up, my mom would 75% of the time pick up the phone and ruin our game by the other 25% were some of the greatest gaming moments of my life
I played this hours on end in the mid '90's; still have the software and Voodoo cards. Now if I could just find a Pentium-1,2,3 system somewhere and load DOS ....

Game holds up super well. It was my first true 3D game back in the day and it blew my mind. Still amazing.

I have descent 3 and it runs on windows 10 somehow but no luck with descent 2 !
Man. That Boss Robot with mega missiles. I really hated that and your better off with Lasers
