This cake is absolutely delicious! I drizzled a vanilla caramel glaze on mine. I took it to a potluck. Half the people there wanted the recipe. I would definitely make it again.

Mom made vanilla wafer cake every Christmas; i recall the boxes being bigger when Mom made this cake. My Mom also added black walnuts in addition to pecans...delicious!

When my children were young this was a fun cake to make on cold winter days
I would put the cookies in a big bowl at the table, and have them crush the cookies while I prepared the rest of the batter. This cake and hot cocoa was a treat.
I had this recipe over 15 years ago. This is an old recipe I know for a long time.

My grandmother used to make this cake for holidays. She did add the coconut, and that’s what made me not like it. I know I would love it without, so I’ll definitely try it this way. Thanks for reminding me about this old recipe! Have a great day.

I've love Vanilla Wafer cake since I had a sample piece. I add 2 c of sweetened coconut & 1/2 c milk to all these ingredients. I make it many times every holiday season.

When you said you can add coconut I jumped for joy and said to myself,"Yes, this is the cake!" My mom made this cake over 40 years ago and it was delicious, I never forgot it, I'm going to surprise her and make this.Thank you for the recipe!! 😊
Love the Pound Cake Catherine!! I notice in comments people reminisce about mom’s and grandma’s baking . My mom always baked on Saturday afternoons and if I was around always watched or helped out!! Loved watching mom bake !! God bless you mom how I miss her and my dad. They passed in the early 2000s. There was almost nothing my mom couldn’t bake. I have most of her recipes that she had all handwritten. Some I can’t do very well . Old school baking charm from the 40s & 50s. Can you imagine not as many modern kitchen baking gadgets then !! Have made this in a 13 x 9 pan. Then did powdered sugar glaze on top. One of my favorite cakes.

My Mom's Dad lived in VA, we lived in WV. Every summer we went to his home for a week. He was so stingy, he would give me and my brother one vanilla wafer for a treat! This cake is delicious.

I absolutely adore pound cake of any flavor and this is right up my alley!!!! I do have trouble digesting nuts of any kind right now but after I have surgery in November that will hopefully improve!! ✍Hello Catherine... Aldi has a delicious vanilla wafer cookie. I used to buy the Nilla and Keebler brand but the name brands became costly so tried the Aldi brand and was surprised how delicious they are. Will have to try this recipe.God Bless Bye from Ohio🌹
