No they not back to square 1,the Jets OL is now off the chart good ,Hall is going to run for 2 thousand yards and Rodgers going to be comfortable in the pocket. A 3rd WR in the draft will do.
If denver truly really wanted Mccarthy they could have outbid Minnesota at that spot. There also was celebrating and Nix fits that offense perfectly. With sean and manning coming out saying they liked McCarthy, thats a clear smoke screen
Even if MN had outbid them - if they had been in a bidding war it would be reflected in the transaction. MN didn't give up much for that trade, which tells me there never was a bidding war going on.
Bo was Sean's guy all along, at least in the batch of 3 "2nd tier" quarterbacks available. He baited Minnesota to move up a spot for JJ. The post-pick interviews have all been positive for all 6 quarterbacks, but I think Denver knew they couldn't reach far enough for Williams-Daniels-Maye, so they focused on Nix-JJ-Penix. Out of those 3, Bo was always our choice.
The fact anybody would ever take Manginis advice is laughable. Kirk cousins was never the guy. They probably wanted Penix before cousins but there was no guarantee he was gonna be there.

I said the same thing on the Denver Broncos RUclips channel 8 o'clock this morning, Peyton and the general manager did not look excited picking Bo Nix! in fact neither of them said they were excited till they were six minutes into the press conference. history shows you're lucky to get one quarterback in the entire draft that will go on to be a successful starter. The Broncos have a project quarterback and maybe in a season or two he will be ready. Look how much benefit Jordan love had sitting on the bench for three seasons, Mahomes, Brady, Lamar, Aaron Rodgers most of the really good quarterback sat on the bench for several seasons. Manginis point is they used an 11 pick to draft depth on their line. A guy that won’t even start barring an injury to one of the many lineman they picked up in free agency. All while Brock bowers was just standing there waving at them.
@DyslexicIm then he should have said that lol not some rambling diatribe about "30 guys." LT is the second most important position, and the Jets current starter is old and injury prone. if you don't see the value of this pick then you don't know football.
That’s my thing too, if they took penix in like the 20s that would be one thing. But with the 8th pick, and literally the only positions taken were qb, tackle, and WR, you have literally so many possibilities to choose from, why reach for a qb who you don’t even plan to start for at least 2 years? Jets brought in 3 o line through FA, that is true, yes. But Morgan Moses and Tyron smith are both 33 years old and Tyron smith hasn’t played a full healthy season since 2015. If your franchise LT is there at 11 you take him. And he can learn from both of those guys. I guarantee he will start. Our o line can NEVER stay healthy. It was a good pick. Bo Nix was 3rd on SPs QB board. You can disagree all you want but there's a reason why Eric Mangini is making marginally coherent arguments on TV shows and Sean Payton is being paid $20M per year by the richest owners in sports to coach an NFL franchise. Mangini's take is so bad. The proof that SP liked Bo better than JJ is in the trade up by Minn and relatively low cost for it in the end. The Raiders guy got nabbed at 8 and that made Minn a little worried about losing JJ to them, JJ being Minn's second choice behind Maye. Maye was too much of a fundementals project for SP. I dont see Sean Payton as the kind of QB guru who would have fixed Josh Allen, but he is the kind of QB guru who will scheme a system to fit a guys strength and Bo's strengths are all the things SP wants in a prospect. If you cant see how Bo Nix could legitimately be the 3rd QB on Sean Payton's QB big board then you just dont get it. Disagree with him all ypu want, but that is how SP saw it. He has said it and I believe him.
Mangini is so wrong, so often. He would've applauded Bowers at 10 for the Jets. As a Tampa Bay fan, I am happy for all the chaos that ATL just created for themselves. It shows they are dysfunctional from the owner down. I'm ok with that. And why are all the "sports pundants" expecting ATL to win the NFC South ? Really ?? I think Jason Licht might have something to say about that, certainly Todd Bowles and definitely Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans.
Mangini is way off on his comments. If Denver wanted Jj McCarthy, they had plenty of capital to trade for him including picks or Pat Surtain if need be- who’s worth anywhere from a 1st and a 3rd to 2 1st round picks. There’s a reason Mangini don’t coach anymore. Go Nix. Go Broncos.
Not one person mentioned that cousins could be traded even. You’re getting at least a first round draft pick and they take on the contract. They have a guy that’s a solid nfl qb and get to evaluate the guy they loved in the draft. New England during their dynasty gained alot of draft capital from developing back up qbs. And Tom Brady was drafted right after drew Bledsoe signed a big contract. Also I think it was Flynn as a back up to Rodgers signed a big contract with Seattle just to draft Wilson. Cousins would at least have trade value. I think cousins and Dak are about the same level. I probably take cousins. Good to great at times. Not elite.
Eric. How are you gonna say that about Bo. When if you clearly watch the post draft interviews everybody is extremely happy they got him. Also Sean is a more successful hc then you’ve ever been I think I trust his judgement more then yours lmao

The Jets got it right!!! My Nittany Lions 🦁 tackle Olu is a badass man!!! You will find out!!! WE ARE 🏈 Unrivaled
Name one qb that was given a bad oline, below average OC or bad receivers and still did pretty well? Herbert?
Mangini is way off on his comments. If Denver wanted Jj McCarthy, they had plenty of capital to trade for him including picks or Pat Surtain if need be- who’s worth anywhere from a 1st and a 3rd to 2 1st round picks. There’s a reason Mangini don’t coach anymore. Go Nix. Go Broncos.
Mangini is talking out of his other end. Tyron smith has not played a full season since 15.
Bo nix is a top 10 pick.😊
We have 2 TEs Eric 😂
If Atlanta traded back, Michael Penix would have been gone and that’s who they wanted and that’s who they got rise up
That’s the reason we both watching football from the couch 🥴🥴
Eric Mangini sounds like Brock Lesnar
Mangini must be on some strong stuff. The Jets o-line has been a problem, so they should just stop trying to fix it? He is really reaching here.
Mangini was a horrible coach. Don't want to hear what his opinion is. 9 times out of 10 he's wrong
💯
@@blaketindle4703 thanks for the response. Dude should never be on the air
Drafting a TE or RB is such a waste of a first round pick
This guy sounds like a coach 😂
Mangina brought the heat
Yeah but never when he was a coach he trash
@@michaelgude9929buddy you would get a headache trying to look at a nfl playbook calm down
@trevorjohnson4015 how you know what I would catch for one you don't know me so you calm down dude what did Mangina do as a coach nothing catch fire dude you don't know nothing
Eric, the whole line was injured for two years. No wonder why he’s not a coach anymore lol
people gonna look back at this and feel dumb
I dont see it with Nix, I see the definition of undraftable.
The Broncos were shopping starving. Truth.
Mangini has no idea what he talking about when it comes to the broncos 💀💀💀
