not sure what you mean, it's not in the control surface dropdown, but I figured out that I had to click Track and Remote in the Output: Midi Fighter Twister section
The fine adjustment feature is still sending values of 0-127... its not increasing the samples. So it isn't really giving you finer numerical control, just tactile control?
How do you use the "Shift encoder hold" function? I changed the setting in the MF utility, but i am unable to map the pushed down knob within Ableton. Do you need to enable something else ?
I stopped use the twister (as a sequencer) with traktor because it was resource greeady and caused drop outs (on my gaming pc laptop) - i have similar but not as extreme problems with my spectra. Is it maybe so that it is optimized for mac? I love the formfactor of these babies but somehow they are not compatible with my set up.
Anyone know if/how it can be used for non-midi apps on windows? I don't do music, but I can easily think of hundreds of other stuff I would love to control with knobs. And I could do it easily If I could just convert the midi signals of these to keyboard button presses. Or, more preferrably. If I could bypass the midi signal completely and just get it to behave like a weirdo macro keyboard.
Shift encoder hold/toggle is just not working for me, any ideas? I seemed to have sent the option to my device as when I press the switch the colour led changes to show engaged but it still controls the prior mapping?
Dream controller : novation launch control with the buttons from the midi fighter twister and the pads from the spectra...it could be a very good thing !
Manuel-M Irezumi yep I have launch control XL but i dont think it compares to this. faders are cool but kinda useless compared to this bc only 1 factory bank for ableton and software not this configurable.. this is like Logitech software, looks great
I have a Launch Control XL and am considering changing to this. The Launch Control XL is a dreamy controller which is super cheap second hand, main page has perfect mappings for controlling Live, has loads of custom banks and 24 knobs per bank... So on paper it's flat-out better suited to the job. But the simplicity and small size of this box makes it super appealing!
Hey, I would like to build a Encoder Midi Controller. But I can`t write an Arduino Code, with DAW Feedback an Encoders. So I would ask that you can release the Arduino Code!
Is there now (or will there be) a way to adjust what value the encoders send in switch or super mode? As of now there doesn't seem to be any way to adjust them in the editor.
Can someone please explain how to set this up in Studio one 3? It is possible to sync the display value of the CC or note to the parameter it is controlling in your software of choice. Simply map the MIDI OUT for that parameter to the same MIDI number on channel 0. thank you!
so you can control one eq with all these button, how to get to map to other things and switch from one to another and lastly how remember which knob does what???
Ironic that this video doesn't cover the actual Super Knob feature of the Midi Fighter Twister - a mysterious feature which duplicates encoders you select to a different channel. Each encoder just has a suspicious checkbox which says "Enable Super Knob" with no further explanation. If you look hard enough you'll find that it duplicates to the System MIDI Channel in the app settings, and also adds 64 to the CC number. Just in case anybody else was frustrated that this was the first result they got when trying to search for the answer.
I believe so. I've never used a twister, but i have a midi fighter 64, and it remembers its settings. i know they use the same utility, so it probably works the same way for the twister
hey anyone that can answer me. I'm pretty new to everything but I really want to make music on my channel similar to Shawn wasabi. I was wondering whether I could create my songs with just a midi fighter and software on my laptop or if I need more things like a mic and stuff if I wanted to produce. if anyone at djtt can answer or any other users. I'd appreciate it.
You really just need a DAW (like Ableton), goos samples, a controller and a laptop. A controller can be a keyboard, a launchpad or a twister for exemple. I would recommend the midi fighter with arcade buttons or a Launchpad. good luck :)
Yeah, you could do that. But with you dont have the money, something cool you can do is to sample stuff from other sources, like youtube itself. Download something like the youtubetomp3 downloader, find a good video with good sounds and there you go :)
And then just cut the part that I want? I'll probably go watch videos on how to do this. It will take a whole to build a good library of sounds but thanks for being the first person to give me a proper response. This isn't the only video I've commented on XD
hahah I know how it feels bro. If you want another option, try to download a sample pack from Loopmasters for example. They have great stuff in their site. and free
Bro, you never talked about the super knobs - the title of the video. The whole reason I clicked the video was to see how you used the "Super Knobs" function.
the script for this in Ableton is awesome
not sure what you mean, it's not in the control surface dropdown, but I figured out that I had to click Track and Remote in the Output: Midi Fighter Twister section
This is awesome! Elektron from 15 years ago had some of these features.
Can you configure MFT to browse banks of presets in Complete Kontrol?
I have a Midi Fighter Twister and love it, kind of the centre of my setup
Brilliant info, wasn't aware of these amazing functions!
Can you use this to control your sound system? One knob for sub, another for speakers, then main volume, bass, treble?
Can you have two of these going into Ableton at once?
I want this for my Twitch streams
Does this device have CV out for each knob?
It would be awesome an update with Program Change messages. That's the only missing piece to use MF Twister as my master midi controller.
i want a knob to control the start/stop time line in simpler !
The fine adjustment feature is still sending values of 0-127... its not increasing the samples. So it isn't really giving you finer numerical control, just tactile control?
Can i use midi fighter twister in logic pro X or Mainstage3 ?
As it's just midi, and given the companion application is available on Mac (please check), it is only a matter of mapping inside your software.
Hey! How I map in Ableton the secondary function? I can't do this with my midi fighter twister...
can knobs send mouse scroll wheel commands? I want a knob that acts as second mouse scroll wheel so you can knob whatever you hover your cursor over
How do you use the "Shift encoder hold" function? I changed the setting in the MF utility, but i am unable to map the pushed down knob within Ableton. Do you need to enable something else ?
Oliver Zier plus one did you ever resolve this, just got a unit today and am facing the same issue
To map the cc when you are holding you need to keep holding while exit midi mapping, otherwise it will revert to the "regular" cc
@@kaitsu9608 I love you

Have a look at Bome Midi Translator Pro (supports most apps) or MIDI2LR (for Lightroom).
Just a thought but would you be able to map this and use as a Rotary mixer?
Or, more basically, could it be plugged into an mpc live and used for standard midi cc channels
Yes
Whats the ID from super nice song in the start of the video ?
Anyone know what the size specs are for the knobs? I want moog style
Shift encoder hold/toggle is just not working for me, any ideas? I seemed to have sent the option to my device as when I press the switch the colour led changes to show engaged but it still controls the prior mapping?
same for me. havent gotten this working wtih ableton

this is really cool!
Only with USB connector it may be limited
Yes, limited to USB. That's why it's called a USB MIDI controller.
Wow... If it was somehow possible to get it to work with Pro Tools and plugin effect-control - it wound be sensationel.
3:07 how the fck do you map it? The rotary not becoming another cc number if you push the button
Hey Did you ever find a solution to this in the last 3years? Ha! thanks
Who is the artist behind the intro and outro song ? Great :)

Read the Ableton Live manual mate, or Google MIDI mapping external controllers in Ableton Live.
:D You say REALLY fine tune, and the frequency jumps by 5 pixels! :D
It seems resolution hasn't changed a thing even you pushed the button.
amazing awesome cool
I like the reset value value function. Can I use this in Traktor too or just ableton?
It's a hardware thing so i would think you probably can
Awesome!
Yes you can use it for sure
yes- it works for any software that responds to midi. :)
+ean golden dope, i have so much plans for this in traktor!! thanx for clearing that up Ean!!
are these endless/infinitive knobs? many thanks for any info
Yes

Does the midi fighter remember its settings so that one could use it in something like an MPC live rather than a computer?
I believe so. I've never used a twister, but i have a midi fighter 64, and it remembers its settings. i know they use the same utility, so it probably works the same way for the twister
It'd be even more amazing to have touch-sensitive knobs that engage when you simply touch them for a separate function.
so sick
Just got one just to use with #LoopyPro!!!

ke kk
"Already is sounding a lot better"
Mmm, No.
Tooooo much setup and comfiguration needed
Yeah, everything is so powerful, but this thing does what every other midi controller does, it's all about mapping. Piece of garbage.
