I am new to 3D printing since asking for one for Xmas thinking it was plug n’play. It’s March and I am finally having fun. Until I found your channel? I somehow watched the honest-to-God most straight-from-github-most boring how-to videos on the face of the planet. I would fall asleep and considered throwing my under $200 printer straight out the window. Then I found your channel. You kept me awake. I’ve slowly found a few others I like. But you? I could stay awake AND you made me laugh! Your snark is exactly what I needed to get over my growing unhappiness with 3D printing. I could stop feeling like I needed to print figurines and things easily found at the dollar store. You have saved my sanity. So today when I came across this? I felt horrified! Horrified AND entertained-not at ALL an easy combo to pull off. You are SERIOUSLY talented! I absolutely ADORE you (like a mom) and love your channel.I’m I’m going to head over to Patreon next. And I’m so happy to hear you managed to buy a wonderful 1st house. Best of luck going forward!

You are an inspiration as well as a creative entertainer. Also, down with reptilian middle management and office drones.

Brooke, for having faced fears in times of despair, I bestow onto you this present. Behind every great man is a great woman and you have earned this. I wish the best to you both!
Way to go, Brooke! And thank you, Zack! I've only been printing for six months but have plenty of knowledge thanks to folks like you. You're holding up society fr
Three cheers for Brooke (Brook? Brück? Spelling is hard when you only have audio to go on), the true hero of this story. Congratulations on getting your first home, and on having your life-changing home disaster in someone else's property.
Congrats on the new home! It's nice to have your own home and more space even if it didn't all go exactly to plan. I enjoy your content and am looking forward to more.
Hang in there, sorry you went through that! Love your technical content, but your alliteration game and script writing is so strong that it keeps me coming back regardless of the topic of each video.

We all wanted to see the lab grow organically but not with mold, can't wait to see how you fill out the new space!
"so there was at least something dry in the house" genuinely made me choke on my drink. You and your partner are serious powerhouses, and you're a hilarious writer. Well done getting through this, I can't wait to see what you do next!
I've been through a similar house flood before, and it is a seemingly endless nightmare. I'm very glad that I am a supporter, and bumped up a level to help y'all make it through. As a person so on the spectrum I have my own color, I commend Brooke on overcoming her anxiety and doing what needed to be done. I hope things start to go better for y'all and enjoy the new digs!
Flooded-by-the-neighbours-upstairs squad, represent. Mine were replacing their kitchen sink, turned the stopcock the wrong way, and twisted it all the way out instead of closed. It took nearly an hour for the fire department to show up and turn off the water supply at the street mains, and by then the apartment upstairs was a foot deep in water, all of it trickling its way steadily down into mine. I was the only person at home, and had to move two beds and a 400lb filing cabinet out from under the light-fixtures-become-fountains all by myself while my mother hurried home.
Holy fuckballs, I'm so sorry you two went through that & it's awesome the utterly unique oscilloscope video (and Linus!) came through yet again. Major, major respect to Brooke for getting the valves closed. Sometimes my "I should be in a cave" social anxiety is so bad at night, I work like a zombie for hours because I'm too paralyzed by irrational self-consciousness to go to my own bathroom and brush my teeth. So I 100% get what her actions took, and cutting through that to prevent further damage is straight-up hero shit. Well done & congrats on your new digs. Can't wait to see what you make there.
I am so sorry for what happened to you and your wife and dogs. I am really glad you guys have managed to get back up. The worst always happens to the best :(
Sometimes it's gonna get worse before it gets much better. I hope this terrible experience is gonna lead to having an amazing house and a significant growth in your channel. Grats on the move!
I’m so sorry for this terrible situation. But I’m proud of you all for keeping things together. And especially proud of Brook. You never know how you’ll react until tragedy strikes. And she handled it like a pro!
Good Gods man! One of the worst ways to be forced out of an apartment unplanned. That Keysight sponsorship was a literal olive branch, and just in the nick of time. Hopefully, you and Brooke don't end up with any lasting illnesses from the black mold, and I look forward to seeing from you guys again!
In the Christian Bible, during the great flood described in Genesis, a dove was released from the ark regularly. The dove returned one day with an olive branch. The next day, it did not return as the floods subsided enough that it did not need to return to the ark. The olive brach was a metaphorical sign that the flood was ending. In Zack and Brooke's case, the sponsorship from Keysight is their literal olive branch. The flood was over, and their future was secured. Metaphorically that is, they still had to do the leg work to get out of the molding swamp hole and into their new house.
Dang man sorry your old place got flooded! Reminded me of the chaos of renting an apartment during the Marshall fires. Glad you were able to get a new place though!
Congratulations on becoming home owners. I have been through 5 basement floods in my 40 years at the prior house. It never gets any easier. We learned to keep things off the floor or in sealed plastic boxes instead of cardboard and the walls and floor were unfinished concrete. So, I understand the urgency and panic that goes along with trying to rescue flooded and dripping boxes while dealing the the smell and constant wetness. May things go better for you this year.
Waited a week as I was just too stressed to watch this when it came out but I'm so glad things worked out and are still working out. Here's a bonus on my admittedly piddly patron tithe. You may not be a 3D Printing channel but you were certainly a deciding factor in why I bought mine.
I was cheering for Brooke going DEFCON 1 Tactical Response Unit even before Zack pointed out the time and the SocAnx! And you know the patreon thanks is heartfelt when Zack pronounces Zach as Zak. What a freaking trial by... water. Amazing what you've pulled off through all of this and excited to see y'all pulling through this like whatever an aquatic bloody phoenix is... some sort of flappy cybernetic dolphin or something, I dunno I'm not some assonance aspiring artiste ascending aerobic ambling-machines at auto-inclining authoring stations acquiring alliterative axioms - that's what they give you the big bux for!
Glad it all worked out for the best Zach. Honestly sounds like a hellish month, and a lot of stress. I know you’re obligated by algorithms to keep making stuff, so don’t feel the need to apologize for zinging out some less than top tier content. I’m certain we’ll all appreciate whatever you have coming down the pipe and hope that the rest of the year features less “getting worse” and only “getting better”. Thanks for all of the hard work you do, and try to look at this as a good thing now that you have a lot more room, a lot more autonomy, and a whole lot more reason to make the most of your lab.

What a proud moment for Brooke, where her courage was such she looked at the situation and acted as swift as humanly possible. Great work, girl!!! It's no easy task what you accomplished! With love from someone with a form of social anxiety.
Wow, this is so crazy. Glad you were able to buy a house and move. An indoor flood is nightmare fuel for most people-and most people have 1/64th the amount of electronics and moisture-sensitive stuff you have! Excited for the New Voidstar Lab!
I can't afford much, but I really hope things get better soon! For making such great content that all of us love watching, I hope you realize how much we admire the channel! You got this!!
I can't believe you guys went through that. I wouldn't have even been able to stay there at all with the mold. Brook is a hero and champ for doing all of that. Make sure you get the new place thoroughly inspected, take notes and pictures of everything for future reference, and get ahead of any potential issues. Knowing is half the battle. Good luck!
DAMN! what a crazy cursed and stressful situation. I'm amazed and happy to hear you two were able to squelch your way through it and come out on the other side with a house AND kept the reptiles on the back foot. Proud of you Brooke!
i am sitting here listening to a pair of Ender 3's pump out Gridfinity cubes to organize my little floating workshop, and I thought to myself, haven't seen a video from Zack in a while, now I know why. Sorry to hear about what happened to your lab, but the new one is going to be exponentially cooler, I am genuinely excited to see where this takes you!
Proud of Brooke, and you! Sounds like you both held it together really well during such a hard time. Looking forward to seeing these new rooms when they are all set up!
Dude. I'm glad you seem to finally be catching a break. Damn. Also, great job to Brooke for keeping a cool head in a tense situation. Social anxiety is no joke!
I'm so happy for you! Getting a house RIGHT NOW on such short notice and with such a unique financial situation is a crazy win! This is so awesome, and I can't wait to see the upcoming videos!
Wow, I’m so sorry to hear this happened to you. I myself had a 1am complete flooding - in my case storm water rushing into a basement recording studio. It took me months to get everything cleaned up, so while I wouldn’t wish what you’ve gone through on anyone, im so glad you were able to get out of there as soon as you could. Sometimes the walls falling down (literally) result in you being in a much better spot (literally). Love your videos and so excited for a drier future for you.
Suggestion for new home... Install flood sensors. Install Home Assistant. Enable notification for floods. I also know from experience that floods happen. Not if but when.
Before I start this, I would just like to congratulate Brooke. I just want to say I'm glad this all worked out, and you're still making videos. You and Electroboom have inspired me to go into electrical engineering (aware you might not be the best inspiration when it comes to school, but you know) and I got so into 3d printing from your videos. To see one of my favorite content creators fall to some slimy fucking lizards would have been a damn shame. Also, completely forgot I wasn't a patron, so don't worry that will change now. And just remember to not get too close to the sun it is clear you angered some dark organization with your beef jerky filament I wouldn't go much further if I was you.
I Definitely recommend keeping anything that is on floor level off floor level by at least 6 inches. Having had my basement flooded as well due to a frostproof hose faucet that froze and split and didn't know about it causing 2 inches of water through my half my basement. Things that were in water resistant tubs were nice, things that were off the ground were nice, things that weren't on the ground directly was nice, things that were on the ground not so nice. But at least it was clean water. Yeah I feel for you. If you cut into the wall walls you might've standard a chance but you were also renting so you can't really cut into the walls that we're gonna get cut into anyway. The longer the water is behind drywall that's supposed to be dry the worse it gets. Thankfully my basement wasn't finished and I self remediated. However it still cost me $4000 in lawyer fees because I went for a walk and tried to be a good Samaritan to a Karen that I didn't know it was a Karen.
I'm so incredibly glad that you and your channel are still here. You bring a bit of legendary, luminous light into my often existential, earthbound existence. You're honestly an inspiration, in addition to a hilarious genius.
Having had to live in an apartment that flooded the back half of the carpet every time it rained, I know exactly the horror of living in that with no other place to go. Hope this helps in getting things back on an even keel.
Sorry to hear bout the flood. My family suffered a fire when we were the least financially stable so I understand the feelings of loss, glad you guys pulled through! Love the vids keep it up nerdy boi :)
As someone who was through a flood, I can feel your pain. After that event I've decided to never ever in forever to live in a non-waterproof building. Thankfully, most of the residential buildings in my current country are. You can literally spill an ocean into an apartment above and it will all go to drains, not to the apartment below. But enough bragging, here's an advice: take a couple weeks off to settle and then another one (or more, if you need) to relax. You need it and we'll understand and won't stop supporting you. You can make up by making more better content in the future.
What a rollercoaster you guys have been through! Very excited for the future of Void Star Lab! Also, commendations to Brooke for getting things done in the face of anxiety!!!
Congrats on the house! I'm happy to hear your acknowledgment that 3D printing drives your views. I hope that means more 3DP content - that's what I'm here for.

Great job Brooke! But in all seriousness, I hope you all are able to get back up and running, and I hope your new house is gonna make your life better!
Duck, man, that was the most horrifyingly horrifying horror story ever. Brooke, you're a hero! Zac, a machine. Hope your new place doesn't have any unpleasantries to unleash. For at least another thirteen years. I'd seriously have a void in my life if this channel ever stopped. And congratulations to you both on the new home!

What an absolute wild ride. So sorry for everything that happened, but so glad things kinda worked out!
Dude, that sucks. Very glad you guys made it out the other side of that nightmare and into your own place.
In times like these only filthy lucre can help set things right. Have a few schmeckles and know that somebody loves both of ya.
WOW. Making it through that and still being your chipper self is a testament to you and your SO's character.
You gave us gridfinity, you deserve better than that nightmare.
Dude, it's great to see good things come to good people. Happy to see your success man and What comes with the future.
Amazing job by Brooke! And yeah, that's a strip down to the studs (and even replace the studs) kinda job :(
You two are incredibly resilient. That is an insane amount of stress, so glad everything turned out well for you both!
Especially after tough times, it's so nice to hear things found a way of working out.
Proud of you Brooke! I know how challenging social anxiety is. It makes my life a living hell. You kicked its ass, way to go!
Suggestion for new home...
Install flood sensors.
Install Home Assistant.
Enable notification for floods.
I also know from experience that floods happen.
Not if but when.
Holy balls... That was as rollercoastery as a rollercoaster of emotion can get! You guys are superhuman! The people at Keystone are champions!
Boss mode Brooke, respect! You guys are a legit dream team, I'm so happy for you that the grind paid off. Congratulations!
more than proud of brooke, that kinda reaction can literally save lives
so glad yall didnt get an electic mix or explody mix in there anywhere
You guys are both awesome! Good job, Brooke! We love you both!
You can make up by making more better content in the future.
love your energy. Glad it all worked out for yous. I know it didnt just happen. You guys are the architects of your success es. It is evident.
What a rollercoaster you guys have been through! Very excited for the future of Void Star Lab!
Also, commendations to Brooke for getting things done in the face of anxiety!!!
Zack and Brooke, congrats! So happy for you guys. Glad things worked out, it sounded like a really stressful series of events.
Hey, Brooke! I'm impressed. Not only do you put up with Zack :) but you dealt with many difficult situations, many of them triggering, very well!
Sweet baby jeb, man. I'm glad you were able to push through, albeit not without many trials and tribulations!
Hang in there! Love your work!
Congrats on the house! I'm happy to hear your acknowledgment that 3D printing drives your views. I hope that means more 3DP content - that's what I'm here for.
Proud of you Brooke! I hate interacting with people in the best of times and at 1 am lightly soaked trying to get into their apartment to shut off their water is definitely not that. Good on you
Great job Brooke! But in all seriousness, I hope you all are able to get back up and running, and I hope your new house is gonna make your life better!
Well done Brooke! Glad you were able to override social anxiety
