I have one and I use it on 350. I don't just crimp the root area, I go down about 6 inches. I use Color Wow Volumizing products and they work very well with the Voloom. I also do what someone else here mentioned. I hold the section of hair straight up in the air and crimp. I do about 4 to 5 sections on each side and then the back. When I am finished I turn my head upside down and brush it and HOLY VOLUME and it lasts for days and days. It also helps when you brush it to remove the crimping that is poking through. It calms down the definition and softs it up a little bit. I also do not have hair extensions and my hair looks thinner than yours. Play around with it until you find something that works. It changed my confidence greatly!

Yes the company shows 3 crimps on each hair going down aways. I have thick hair I would do more layers underneath.

Very helpful. These products sound so good when advertised. Nice to see the practical side of it and know there is not a magic cure to flat hair.

I think you would have gotten more volume if you had done more pieces of hair in smaller sections. Maybe clip up the top, the middle in one or 2 layers or more & leave the bottom down. Crimp the bottom first then work your way up the layers. If you will pick your hair up when you crimp it instead of letting it lay normal you will be able to get closer to the root and that will give you more volume on top.
Also I think you would get a lot more volume if you would use a root lifter like Guts or something like that before you crimp it. The root lifter would give you more volume and help hold the crimps. I think that would be your best bet. Your hair looks fine so no matter what you do unless you use products it’s probably not going to hold it all day. Either way, it looks great.

Thanks for the video. I have fairly flat hair too. I've been taking a good vitamin supplement with Hair, Skin, Nails by Nature Made and I supplement with iodine. Biosil is good a supplement too. These supplements have helped to thicken my hair which has helped boost the volume.

I love mine. You didn’t do it right. Start at the roots and only hold for a second.
