@@ritahorvath8207 Yeah, I was thinking this. Did they wait to see if the mother was still around? Because mother rabbits don't stay with their babies all day, they only come about once a day or so to feed them.
@@ritahorvath8207 came to the comment thread to say this exact thing! Momma bunny got in thete and obviously got out again. Under that grate was probably the safest place they could be.
If I am ever feeling doubtful, or worried, I come to this channel and enjoy the sweet rescues. And I know at least there is one lovely part of the world that is still ok!!!

What could have happened? I mean no disrespect as I'm genuinely curious. They seemed healthy and well cared for to me. I love The Dodo and have followed for years so I mean no harm but this story jas me baffled and feeling like I must be missing something?

Any follow up of the babies?
Momma was probably traveling with them and they passed over the opening and the little ones fell through. She eventually would have had to abandon them, specially if there were others safe above.

They should have waited for the mom too if they really want to help and rescue them. 😢 If there were no threat of bad weather, they should have just monitored them rather than separate them from the mom. The buns look so well fed so I don't think they're really in a bad condition. Nothing can beat a bunny mom's milk and having them can actually make those babies thrive better in the wild. Mom buns only feed the babies once a day and try to stay away from them to protect them from predators. They aren't abandoned. Also, a week or 2, wild bunnies could survive on their own. They really grow fast. I really hate to see heart warming videos like this, when in reality, they're actually not helping at all.
Yeah, I agree. They never said whether or not they waited to see if the mon would come around. In most rescue videos I have seen, people wait to see if the mom is around (especually when the babies are as healthy as these). If the mom is still around, she's going to be heartbroken.

She probably deposited on the top of the vegetation. On top of the grill As they grew and jumped, they fell down. Mama moved on. It’s a bit harsh in nature

Je ne vois pas ça comme un sauvetage en fait. Les petits pinous étaient bien à l'abri, bien tranquillous, visiblement bien nourris par leur mère ! Et là, paf, ils se font embarquer, la maman ne va plus retrouver ses petits quand elle va rentrer au nid pour les nourrir ! Même si ils ont voulu bien faire, c'est du kidnapping ! 😥

@@jaaman0670 attraper une maman lapin vive et sauvage, ce n'est pas comme récupérer des petits lapereaux qui sont dans le nid ! Franchement ça m'étonnerait qu'ils aient pu récupérer la mère ! Elle était sûrement rentrée là par les tunnels et elle avait largement de quoi se planquer !

They didn't seem to be in any danger, they were in their nest, where their mama put them! And when mama will come back to feed them, she won't find them 😢

They are wild bunnies, but I am not sure why they were so deep but the mother might come back. She has to hide her young from predators. I have domestic bunnies. Will you keep watch for their mum?

They look healthy to me, and not malnourished at all. I can't shake off the feeling that the mother was taking good care of them and might come back to see all of them are gone. This video does not show whether they waited to see if the mother returned. rescuing is a great job. But before deciding to rescue any animal, we must confirm if they need to be rescued at all, as most parents in the animal kingdom will not spend 24 hours with their babies after the initial period has passed. Animal parents leave the nest to find food for themselves and their babies, to have some me-time, to watch for potential threats around their home from which to keep the babies safe, to find new safe homes, and many more reasons depending on the species.

~ Last summer when it was warm outside all night, I left the side door open to keep a breeze as I tried to sleep. The cat brought a baby rabbit into the house, and when they are scared or in pain, it's a sound you don't forget. I did what I could but the little guy died the next morning anyway. It's nature, but sometimes I hate nature.

Question is how did mom get down there to breed? She obviously felt they were safe down there and as big as they are everyone is eating well and where’s mom getting In and out? She obviously is breeding her babies in there.

We saved some bunnies whose parents abandoned them! One died to a disease and the other 2 were thrown into the bushes by my friend. Now there is one left named Snickers. He’s grown. I love da big boi ❤

are you sure they were STUCK? They looked cozy and burrowed under there. There may have been a "back door" that mom would use to get in there because it's safe and away from predators. And now all her kids are gone. Don't always assume, or think like a human. Animals do things differently than we do.
