I read "the forgotten island" on my honeymoon that was also on an island. Thought it'd be the perfect vibe. Instead I had night terrors of giant spiders that entire week. It was lit.
girl you were my fave discovery this month. I watched your video of the organisation of your library, and it was so unhiged i immediatly binged watched your videos. Love the way you talk about things while having a fire makeup on !!! I'm not even à horror reader, but next year i'm gonna start reading more horror because of you !! so if one day you can make a video recommending horror book for begginer or smth wld be glad!!! so glad to have run accros your youtube !!!
You could try easing your way in with gothic horror which tends to be on the milder side, Mexican Gothic is pretty popular and not too gory. The hollow places by T Kingfisher is also horror-adjacent, I found it to be a bit slow at times but kingfishers world and character building are really cool. Horror is such a wide genre that it might take a couple books to figure out what subgenres you vibe with or don’t
@ omg thank you for your answer ! Mexican gothic was on my tbr for a time now, this is my sign for it to be my next read. Thanks for recommending me. And I’m gonna definitely try to read different sub genre, to discover more about horror as a genre of book.
The page you show at 26:52 is from incidents around the house, but you’re talking about we used to live here 💖 Both great books-just pointing it out for the sake of continuity if you care lol
About we used to live here....that happened to me...I was visiting friends in my old neighborhood and the ppl who bought my house invited me in when I saw them outside and told them I grew up there 😊
This year I really loved Lost Gods and Slewfoot by Brom, Ask for Andrea and Run on Red by Noelle Ihli, Incidents Around the House, Listen for the Lie, Black River Orchard, the Blackriver Saga, American Rapture and In the Dream House. I had a pretty good reading year. I read 70 books and only DNF'd 2 of them.
If you are looking for more cruise ship horror, I would highly highly recommend The Last One by Will Dean. The audiobook is excellent and the story is amazing. I am so frequently disappointed by cruise and vacation horror but this one wowed me.
I read a Reddit post with more explanation and meaning behind Incidents Around The House and loved it even more. Even the ending. What secrets and trauma can do to a child’s heart. 💔
I got Blood Cruise on my TBR .I'm currently reading the inheritance Cycle Series. I Read 1.Eragon 2. Eldest Currently reading 3.Brisinger 4.Inheritance (Short stories The Fork the Witch,And the worm) 5.Murtaugh by Christopher paolini.
Adding Blood Cruise to my TBR immediately. I love pretty much everything David Sodergren writes, although Perfect Victim wasn't my absolute fave I still loved it. I did start to speculate about the ending though......Spoilers...Spoilers....Spoilers .... ..... ..... ..... ..... ...... I think she was dead and didn't actually survive and the very end (when she is just chilling on the porch) is her afterlife or something. I could be wrong, probably am wrong - but that's the way I read it.
HOW can Incidents Around the House be scary when it comes out SO f*cking hard into an eye rolling domestic plot?! Yeah, Other Mommy is awesome as hell and he wasted her on the worst plot of all time! The only thing that made that book scary was the atrociously shitty parenting....

Im sorry but if someone came to my front door and said "i used to live here. Let me in." Id be like absolutely not:)
I built my house so that would be extra suspicious 😂
@@teslagoth9401 indian burial ground ghost trope moment. "i lived on the land that you built your house on let me in"
Exactly!!!
I let him in 🤷♀️ he was an old man and wanted to show his son the house he built with his own two hands. Offered me 1 mil to buy the house back.
@vanessaabbas2309 sounds horrific in it's own way lol
cannot WAIT for the roast tbh
Me too! The last one was hilarious 🤣
DITTO! 2024 isn't over until The Roast 🥂 has been posted!!!!
“It made me think…is cannibalism for me?” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hi Jordaline! 💗 Loved Forgotton island too! And Rest Stop was a blast!📚
I was so turned off by 'Maggie's Grave' by David Sodergren and now I am sitting and pondering whether I should give him another chance. 👀
Taco Bell and a fresh Jordaline video? Day made.

The Eyes Are The Best Part was one of my favorite reads of 2024, too! 👁🥢
Im so fucking glad I found your channel. You're so fucking funny. Gonna legally change my name to Tiffany brb.
Rest Stop was fun!
I read a Reddit post with more explanation and meaning behind Incidents Around The House and loved it even more. Even the ending. What secrets and trauma can do to a child’s heart. 💔
Why was the end so bad?
Well thanks a lot! I had some of these on my TBR, but now I've ordered the ones I didn't already own.
Downloading rn to watch on my flight home to NY tomorrow!

Okay but, being that this is the first video of yours I’m seeing, this intro REALLY threw me off 🥲🤣
Blood Cruise - zombie like and feral vampire makes sense. Thats just how it is. The history of vampirism has its roots in rabies, some speculate.
I’ve read some of the weirdest books from you
I was highly disappointed in "we use to live here"
I feel like The Eyes Are The Best Part was gay???

You're gorgeous and I love you but respectfully Incidents Around the House was utter GARBAGE.
Okay thank youuuuuu
