Grear video. My 2020 Accord would not start and the dash was fully lit up with all kinds of warnings as you showed in the middle of your video. Had it up and running in a couple of hours. Metered the battery and it was reading below 12 VDC. Took out the battery and brought it to Auto Zone. They had a dedicated battery tester to confirm it was indeed dead. This just happened to me today. Was getting gas at Sam’s Club and in my in ACC mode to watch the gas up. Jumped in to turn it on after the fill up it sputtered blinking like crazy all over the place like it was a super weak. Tried it a few more times then had a guy try to jump it off but nothing so I did some quick thinking. I walked over to Sam’s and bought a new battery. Fixed it.
Hi Dan, Thank you for this video, (2018 Honda Accord Touring Sedan) just last night after dropping someone off at the train station, I pulled away from the parking spot and the following warnings came up: Brake System - Electric Parking Brake System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control System Problem....I have been on the internet to see what the issues may be and it appeared mostly it was low voltage battery and alot of "DON'T FREAK OUT!" My car is 5 years 7 months old and I have never changed the battery. Such an important component and don't think about it. The car is a rolling laptop so it makes sense it could be the battery. I do have low mileage on the car, about 38,000 miles. Will get a new battery - 48 760 CCA H6-AGM and see how it turns out. Thanks again!!!
Hi Dan, I replaced the battery, after about half hour or less of System Initializing, Continue to Drive all the brake system warning lights are gone! Again, thank you, and I also bought a stronger battery (Duralast), same level as your Interstate....again Thank you! @@DanVilla7
This is happening to me right now. I was getting all the lights in the dash so i unplugged the battery and waited a few hours and put it back and it worked for a day or so. And now the car will not start. I sure hope it is the battery. I am so stressed as my companies Christmas party is today and all the stuff for the party is in my car. I sure hope i can get a battery today.
It’s surprising to me that the Accord 2018 doesn’t tell you what your car battery percentage is! I’ve had minimal glitches over the past year (2022). Door handle doesn’t unlock, camera shuts off, the front dash shuts down as I’m driving! I’ve had my 2018 since May 2018 and I had no real warning that my battery was about to die. It just did this morning during a snowstorm! Thank goodness for my Dad who left work, bought a new battery and drove to me and changed it🙏🏼♥️ He thinks it’s crazy that these cars don’t warn you and just die out of the blue. Thanks for the video
Seems like they do this by design to get you to bring it into the dealer. There's absolutely NO reason not to have this set up as a regular maintenance warning.
I own a 2019 1.5 when I first got my car I believe week or month went by the screen for apple CarPlay and such went black finally got it fixed, apple CarPlay randomly doesn’t want to work, rpm gauge went up and down for no reason, loud humming, rpm gauge went black, now I have the dam recall for fuel pump can’t wait to get rid of it soon I love the car but i don’t want to work far and stranded middle of the night and calling my dad to recuse me. I had battery replaced too.
Thanks for this because I definitely freaked out a year ago when I saw all those lights but it never happened again after that so idk! Definitely faulty
Great video! My 2.0t was dead to the point where it won’t start but still can turn it on to ACC. Good thing it was still under warranty (3 years/36,000 miles) so Honda replaced it for free. They said they found a bad cell. What surprised me is that the car was less than 2 years old (a little over 30,000 miles) when this happened. I guess I was expecting a little better quality from Honda. Also I googled the problem that I had and there’re many people out there also have the same problem with their Honda cars as well. For people out there, if your car is less than 3 years old/36,000 miles and have this problem. Bring it to Honda and they will replace it under warranty
My 2018 2.0 Accord original battery is 6.5 years old, I test it every month and still is fully charged. Johnson Control made the original battery for Honda. My son's Subaru Outback completely dead at almost 3 years old.
Thank you for the video..I am just now experiencing this issue while watching your video. I was starting to freak out and call a tow company..My dash board definitely just showed those warning signs
This is good to know. I'm hovering around 43k miles on my 2019 on og battery. I did get those warning lights once last year. Never came back on though on a restart. Thanks. Edit: Battery dead at 51k miles 11/8/22
@@chrise1533 All I did was turn the car off then back on. Never happened again. But a weak battery will cause these types of issues. I'm now at 48k miles plus.
Just wanted to say thx...got off work last night got all these warnings on my dash..car wouldn't start..finally got it started made it home...now this morning car starts but when I hit lock button car doesn't beep and when it starts it drags..headed out to get battery for my 2020 accord sport..thanks again bcuz I was losing it
Thanks for posting this. I have a 2021 and had this message flash up periodically - along with something about brakes (I think I dismissed because I realized I was inadvertently pressing the brake really hard for whatever reason and thought that was the issue so I kinda ignored it. Then the other night I kept smelling sulphur when I was driving around and yesterday it was completely dead. Thankfully I have a truck so now I'm off to go replace it lol
So mine had all those signs pop up, but when i took it to get a diagnostic it said it was misfires with ignition coils and spark plugs. I replaced them, but now in the morning when my car is cold its about 35 degrees in the morning the car wont gain power it stalls and the ignition light flashes once. I park it and then turn it on later when its warmer and it works, would this also be happening if its the battery?
Last week bought a 2020 Hybrid Touring. Last night I tried remote starting but messed up the sequence (still learning). 10min later when I get in, two brake errors light up and it was difficult starting it with the brake, button, etc until I fully turned the lights on (muscle memory from years in my last car with elec issues). Drove about a mile away to donate some stuff and after the shutoff/restart, EVERY error msg popped up (brakes, e-brakes, power steering, traction control, at least 10 different systems) AND it wouldn't start until the 2nd/3rd try. Freaked out, I limped back home, but all seemed fine after moving it from the front of my building to the back after 30min or so. I think I somehow remotely reset something in the main system. Will be getting my battery tested and/or get a new one if it's not really strong. This was after an 800mile road trip immediately after purchasing (no issues), so I think I'm good. Love it so far though!
I’ve had a 2021 Honda Accord just less than 3 years now. Less than 13,000 miles and I’m having battery issues. Jump started it 3 times in the last 6 months. Bought a battery charger/maintainer from Advanced Auto Parts after they said my battery was “good” and the SOC was 43%
I have a 2018 2.0t w/ 58k miles and my battery just died a few days ago.... in the parking lot of an auto parts store! Couldn't have been more perfect. I went in for a silicone license plate frame and came out with a battery and a 10mm wrench... haha!
Same car but 2020 model, battery died in little over 2 years, at 62k. It all makes sense now because every now and then “power steering failure” warning would pop up and then go away a second later….
Yeah for some reason instead of showing a battery light the whole system goes haywire and throws random dash lights. Most likely because those modules aren't getting adequate voltage.
@@DanVilla7 no doubt. When I picked up my 10Gen accord like 2 months ago I was besides myself when I saw my reservoir as low as yours. And I can tell from your vids you are a stickler to having things in perfectly working order lol I’m the same.
I replaced my battery not to long ago because it was going bad. Now I’m having all them lights come on the acc, power steering , power break ect. But the car starts up perfectly fine every time it’s been going on for about a week now .
Same happening to me. I saw a video where you drive it for exactly a mile turn of the car wait a few seconds start it back up and it clears. I to got a new battery even after having the new one tested as good. Well now i have a new one so hopefully thats all it was
Hey thanks for this video. I had my 2019 Honda accord sport die on me today after getting gas. Funny thing, the car started but after pulling away from the pump about 20 feet it just died on me. I got all the warning lights that came up and I def thought it was something more serious. But thanks for the video explaining this because this will help people not to freak out.
my 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring won't start this morning and the dash is lit up with error messages. So, off to find a new battery here. (must be about the same timing for these 2019 models)
I have a 2013 Honda Accord Sport..I started it early one morning..It started but my car literally shook, and then died..and every trouble light on the dash was on. I checked my owner's manual; it turned out, it had vapor locked.. What makes that happen? I don't know.. but I took my gas cap off, and put it back on...My car started right up, no more trouble lights, haven't had any issues whatsoever since, and it's been a few years since this happened...Hope this is helpful to someone. God Bless!❤🇺🇸
good video brother! i have the same problem on my 2018 accord and i get the xMass Lights and since putting my new dash cam it would power on and off once i hit the Break pedal. i though it was my dash cam since it also has Parking mode. i got it install in best-buy and i had to make an appoinment with them to get the Parking mode off but thank god i watch this video first. that's what ima do first start with the battery and see if i fix the problem. thanks for the video new sub
I have a Honda accord 2022 model - the lights went crazy in my car as well! I didn’t panic because it happened before when I first bought the car-it went away on its on and didn’t return for about a year. This time it wasn’t going away - I had the battery checked. ✅ that did the trick! The lights went away in minutes after I started the car with the new battery - the auto start/stop was also always saying unavailable but I was actually glad it wasn’t on- lol 😂 it’s annoying! Now I need to figure out how to disable that feature 😑
I got those lights I thought it was just because I got it serviced today at Honda. I parked and turned it off to make a phone call and all hell broke loose when I was trying to turn it on. So they were nice and gave me a jump because it was the battery. It’s from 2019 the year of the car is 2020. It’s time to change it out.
I have a 2020 Honda Civic. I bought it from the dealership it is used but in good condition. I had it for a month and already I started to see random notifications but they go away when I turn the car off then turn it on. Maybe I need to get the battery checked?
I have a 2020 2.0T, was sitting for a few days with the positive cable off. Connected today everything was at first. Went to open the door my interior lights wouldn't come on and the car wouldn't start? I also have a dash cam do I need a new battery?
I've the Thinkware u1000 and my 21 touring's battery died a few times but battery will be charged by the time I took the car to the dealer so I have to leave the car on the dealership overnight so in the morning they can test the battery and see it was not good. They ended up replacing the battery since my car was around 8k miles at the time. My car was the one on the showroom so I guess my battery was bad from people just looking at the car and never been run
I got no dash warnings. I noticed that someone was "off" though. While walking to my car I usually use my key to automatically roll the windows down. for the past two weeks it's been rolling down just 3 and not all 4. Then around the same time, when I start it it turn over a few before starting up. Fast forward two weeks and I parked and turned off my car to stop into a store. Came back out and the car would not start. I got a jump and then was on my way. A day later I got the battery replaced and it it starts up with no problems and rolls down all 4 windows.
Thank you so much, I just bought my Honda Accord it’s not starting those same warning lights are coming on so I’m going to get the battery you purchased. Will it start when I replace it? And where did you get it and how much does it cost?
i have a 2021 honda accord and this message came up after my car wouldnt start the first time i tryed ,starter system initializing continue driving could this message be a result of a bad battery?
I was walking away from my Accord Sport SE 2021 today in a parking lot and the car kept talking to me. as I was across the parking lot it was saying "Battery low". I didn't know if was talking about my keyless remote or not. I just purchased this car Nov 2022 from a dealership. It was previously owned it had low mileage though. I added the runner lights inside. So it seems pretty soon to replace the battery. I don't have a dash cam. Is there something that I can turn off that may be sucking the battery?
Thanks but mine 2019 69k miles never had a problem till this morning my remote start it started but when I restarted it it hesitated... never changed the battery tho..
Just got Electric Power Sterling System Assist Problem this morning and my car does turn on but it kinda struggles for a sec and starts so could be the battery?
Hey brother i am having the same issues with all the warning lights popping up i clear them all and they are good for a day or so then pop up again. Its stressing me out big time . I changed out the plugs cause i had a misfire but i don't think that was the issue . How do i figure it out .
Do you think is possible that my monocular camera is failing because I haven't changed my battery for over 7 years? I wonder if that's the main problem. I would appreciate your opinion and help. Thanks in advance!!
60k miles. 5 times it has died. 2 times dead in the last week. Every time ive checked the battery after the jump it said at 100%. I have it check every time I service the car as well. All test and inspections say the battery and everything else is in excellent condition. Is it just the battery malfunctioning at this stage of its life or can it be possibly something else?

Yoooo this helped sooooo much bro, you explain what i had to deal with in the 5 am start and thank god for a back up whip hahaha i replaced the battery in the new 2024 Accord i only had it for two months and i brought the honda factory battery to interstate just to see if i had a bad battery and the guy tells me one of the cells inside short out so thats what caused the blinking lights and lose of power to attempt to start lol this was new to me and no engine light and no battery light so you said the answer and everything was back bro hahaha. Thank you for this tip and help its life changing for small tips lol i hate new cars but it saves gas lmao appreciate the info and awesome accord 🤙🦾
I’m getting all the lights warning assuming it’s the light what has me concerned is how the engine sounds is that normal?? Never heard it before these lights came on just sounds like it’s very low on power if that makes sense but all my lights are bright not like dimmed
I have a 19 Civic with the 1.5t. for a week now I've been getting hesitation, knock, and stutter going up hill mostly if I go slow and give it gas. Or even on flat ground around 25mph then step on it. Then tonight I go out to start the car and every light and warning message comes on. Shut off the car, then for some reason I grab my spare fob. Come out to start car again all lights off. Go for a drive everything's fine except for that stupid knock etc at random times when car is under load at certain RPM and speed. It's random. Car just hit 27,000 tonight. I've done plugs, air filter, fresh oil change, checked everything twice. Any ideas? I'm going to first unplug the top 02 sensor and take a drive to see, then I'm going to clean it as well. Either way I'm calling Honda on Monday.
My trunk wont open with my fob or the button on my driver side door. Valet switch is on & has power going to it. Do you think maybe this is a small sign? Maybe the trunk has a sensor im not aware of?
Hey, I started to get those error messages on my dash on Saturday. I have the same camera and the same install (watched your video). I disconnected the camera for now, just to see if it is a battery issue, before spending money on a new battery. I reviewed my camera files, and notice the last recording was on 4/04 and then on 4/23. I assume it has been powering down during the night. I do have it on parking mode. I Got my battery checked on Sunday, and they said it was good. I install my camera about 2 months ago, I'm driving a 2019 Honda Accord. I was wondering if you have seen any issues again after replacing your battery.
Yes that happens to me. I don't drive as long as I used to so the battery doesn't get as good of a charge. When I take it on longer drives the camera is still recording the next day
What is the blue enclosure with the red cable directly next to your battery? I have a similar setup and am hesitant to replace battery myself without knowing what that is.
Bro I have 20 Honda Accord hybrid and have vantrue n2pro dash cam hardwired for about 1 month and it went completely dead push button was blinking red and headlights would stay on also doors wouldn't unlock , I'm guessing it's battery ???
Hi. I started my car after a thunderstorm & acc, lkas, collision mitigation, brake system, high beam,&electrical steering popped up on the dash. Turned the car off & on & drove it 25miles & the lights are still on. The battery was replaced 1yr ago. The alternator 4months ago. Help! What else can i do?
@Daunte1984 my "sensing sensor" was stolen. Look at the front grill by the license plate. If its missing then thats mostlikely the issue. If not it can be a simple rese or blown fuse. Let me know if that helps!
Did you have to use anything for memory saving when changing? Had that problem in a VW when I changed my battery one time and had to tow it to the dealership to get it reset.
hey dan i just had same problem last month my dmbs, acc, rdm errors just came on. i have my 2020 accord for 2 years now with 48k miles.. i have a dash cam too! lol u think thats whats causing it? like draining the heck of my battery? anways thanks for the info!
Your battery can just be bad. These Honda batteries have been dying early. Also could be your dash cams hear protection shutting it off since it's basically the peak of summer

Well heres a story for you. I bought a 2019 Accord sport 2.0T 1 month after i got it my honda battery took a turn. Car did not want to turn on at all. Went to my local autozone and picked up a battery. Swapped it. Everything was great. 6 months later. I noticed my electric power steering would fail while i park makes the steering hard as a rock but the car would run fine normally. Took it to honda they told me my battery was bad. They warranty the battery and took out my autozone one and put in another honda one. That fixed all my problems. 6 months later my dash is a Christmas tree and a funky smell in the car. I pop the hood. The honda battery i got new 6 months ago is spitting acid . Car was not drive able. Ran to autozone got a duralast battery and threw away the honda piece of shit battery car was fine . 6 months later … to now. A few nights ago my car started to act funny no electronic steering infotainment was blinking . I would put my car in reverse to back into my garage and the car would roll forward. I didn’t think it was my transmission because these 10AT are literally bulletproof. The next day i went back to autozone and got that Duralast gold 730CCA battery. Came back to connect it car works fine ….. but ….. i hear a bad noise. After a while of looking i notice my alternator was sparking up and wobbling. And it was creating metal shavings all over. It was destroying it self and it blew. Car is parked for a week because no honda parts store has a new alternator in stock because they are backordered. And the stores who do have it wants $800-900$ for it. I bought a low millage one OEM from another 2.0T and a new belt. For $300. Tomorrow i am going to attempt to fix this nightmare. And hopefully fixes my problem …

And now the car will not start. I sure hope it is the battery. I am so stressed as my companies Christmas party is today and all the stuff for the party is in my car. I sure hope i can get a battery today.
@@IamShaunnaNakicewas it your battery?
Yeah definitely a short comming in design
Seems like they do this by design to get you to bring it into the dealer. There's absolutely NO reason not to have this set up as a regular maintenance warning.
A/C helps ..but uses a lot of the alternator
@RealRockinRobyn yup that's how they get you to pay extra
Thanks for the heads-up! I have the same dashcam with a 22 Touring.
You're welcome!
Thank you for the video..I am just now experiencing this issue while watching your video. I was starting to freak out and call a tow company..My dash board definitely just showed those warning signs
Thank you for this informative video, my 2020 Honda battery died at 22K, will have to replace.
This is good to know. I'm hovering around 43k miles on my 2019 on og battery. I did get those warning lights once last year. Never came back on though on a restart. Thanks.
Edit: Battery dead at 51k miles 11/8/22
You're one of the lucky one's like me. Some people only getting a couple of years out of them.
Had to go get a new battery today
I’m around 45k miles on my Honda
@@oscargarcia4446 sounds about right, I'm about to cross 50k miles. Still on factory battery.
How did you restart the charging system problem?
@@chrise1533 All I did was turn the car off then back on. Never happened again. But a weak battery will cause these types of issues. I'm now at 48k miles plus.
Thank you. I am now encountering all these issues with all the warning signs.
Thankfully I have a truck so now I'm off to go replace it lol
replaced the battery and it works just fine, looks like that was exactly the problem. thank god it wasn't the batteries under the backseat!
Thanks for the video. I’m thinking about being proactive and upgrading to an Optima.
Yeah you've had yours for a while. Definitely a good move It's just a matter of time
Thank you. I am at Sam's Club right now waiting to get my battery installed
I went in for a silicone license plate frame and came out with a battery and a 10mm wrench... haha!
Excellent video Dan👍
Same car but 2020 model, battery died in little over 2 years, at 62k. It all makes sense now because every now and then “power steering failure” warning would pop up and then go away a second later….
Yeah for some reason instead of showing a battery light the whole system goes haywire and throws random dash lights. Most likely because those modules aren't getting adequate voltage.
I'm curious but when the car is running wouldn't the alternator provide voltage for the power steering etc.
thanks for the tips excellent merry Christmas
You're welcome! Merry Christmas!
I had the exact same issue today. Efffing Honda! Thanks for the video.
I got the same dashcam based off your review.. thanks for the heads up... top that brake fluid off homie :)
Nice glad I could help. Thanks for looking out, didn't realize it was low 🤦

Well now i have a new one so hopefully thats all it was
Hello, same here exact scenerio . How did you fix it?
Now I need to figure out how to disable that feature 😑
imma change the battery tomorrow this happen to me today. Hopefully that fixes it. Had my car for 4 years too and 36mi on it too.
Very helpful, thank you!!!❤
730 cold cranking amps on the new battery - that's almost double what the Honda battery was - wow!
Thank you.. my car just didn't turn on and it's telling me all these messages .. so ima try the battery option first.
I’m at 4 years and 80k with me 2018 , my battery’s jus now giving me issues I believe
Thank you so much, I just bought my Honda Accord it’s not starting those same warning lights are coming on so I’m going to get the battery you purchased. Will it start when I replace it? And where did you get it and how much does it cost?
It should start right up once you replace it, if the battery was actually bad. I paid 160 locally
I have a '19 and noticed my dome lights and dash flicker/click. Gonna be taking it in tomorrow.
So what was the issue

i have a 2021 honda accord and this message came up after my car wouldnt start the first time i tryed ,starter system initializing continue driving could this message be a result of a bad battery?
Thanks for this info.
Just got Electric Power Sterling System Assist Problem this morning and my car does turn on but it kinda struggles for a sec and starts so could be the battery?
I was just parked with the car on and all my lights just randomly turned on
Hey brother i am having the same issues with all the warning lights popping up i clear them all and they are good for a day or so then pop up again. Its stressing me out big time . I changed out the plugs cause i had a misfire but i don't think that was the issue . How do i figure it out .
I got a Honda oc card 20/18 and it said critical failure detected on the dashboard stop when it safe . And from that my car dead.
Do you think is possible that my monocular camera is failing because I haven't changed my battery for over 7 years? I wonder if that's the main problem. I would appreciate your opinion and help.
Thanks in advance!!
The warning I got was, my remote start wouldn't crank, crank slow by the button!!!.. thanks anyway for the warning signs

Anyone have this issue ? 2020 2.0
Check coils, Injectors, fuel filter or throttle body
This happened to my car the other day I was freaking out but thank god it was just the battery 🪫 random lights would come on …
My trunk wont open with my fob or the button on my driver side door. Valet switch is on & has power going to it. Do you think maybe this is a small sign? Maybe the trunk has a sensor im not aware of?
Its possible but haven't heard of that as a symptom.

Whatchu think?

When I take it on longer drives the camera is still recording the next day
I have the same issue. vehicle performs as it should. replaced the battery and my dash still looks like a Christmas tree. HELP
What is the blue enclosure with the red cable directly next to your battery? I have a similar setup and am hesitant to replace battery myself without knowing what that is.

Hey Dan which front bumper lip is that? Can you post a link to where you got it? Also did you have to drill holes on your bumper?

I'm having similar issues now, did you get yours resolved?
@Daunte1984 my "sensing sensor" was stolen. Look at the front grill by the license plate. If its missing then thats mostlikely the issue. If not it can be a simple rese or blown fuse. Let me know if that helps!
Did you have to use anything for memory saving when changing? Had that problem in a VW when I changed my battery one time and had to tow it to the dealership to get it reset.
All I did was swap it out and was good to go

Did you ever find out what’s wrong
My problem is I just got a 2.0 sport and my car started stuttering and now doesn’t work like when I press the push to start it stutters like it’s going to turn on but doesn’t I had my battery switched and don’t know what it is
I'm not sure what that can be. Some of the 2.0s have a fuel pump recall may want to check into that
I got the same problem. What ended up being the problem for you?
My honda dashboard lit up, dealer mentioned the battery sensor, but i have a feeling it is just the battery, would i be ok just replacing the batt?
Yeah would try that first if your battery is a couple of years old
