The endura is a great lineup. I like blades that are > 4”, I carry a Police in K390 or a Tatanka in VG10 or a Resilience in 8CR13MOV. I also like to carry a CS Espada L.
Tough steels that aren't too soft are the best. I'm still determining whether I like k390 or m4 more. Cruwear followed by magnacut are my top two so far.
My favorite knife is my Spyderco Stretch in K390. I use it and use it, and I have yet to sharpen it. I do need to get around to stropping it, but it just keeps cutting! I want a Delica or an Endura in K390. I wish Spyderco did more of their knife in K390, like the Sage series, with G-10 and compression lock!!
Agreed. Especially with the seki city heat treat on k390. The delica is amazing in k390 as its so thin. I have two wharncliffe delicas in k390. Love them. Also have the endela wharncliffe k390 and an endura k390 wharncliffe on the way lol. Had to have the family.
I think it really is a great choice of colors you made there, and the knife turned out just perfect with that wave opener. I didn't know that existed in Aliexpress but thank you, you gave me some ideas.
I wanted the stretch 2! It was just a touch too long for me to carry so I went with another endura recently. 😅 I love the blade shape of the stretch xl though
@@eugenevictortooms4174 oh I’m sure. I use the WS field sharpener and it works just fine. Funny you mention it, we’re giving away the Ken Onion for the holidays this year. Stay tuned for that. 👍
I carried a waved endura for a long time. It failed to lock one day and roasted a new pair work gloves. I now carry pocket fixed blades, currently it is a Boker Kwaiken fixed.
@@dickinsteinblowitz7102 I will counter that it is a good reason to not carry a knife that is already broken in the middle, and which requires extra steps to make it close to being as secure as a fixed blade. All locks can and will fail, they are a mechanism; a fixed blade has no mechanisms.
I picked up a Police 4 K390. Sharp, smooth, barely an ounce per inch. Great hand feel. And shock and awe when I produce it! I can't say it's my favorite among favorites, but it's with me a lot of the time...
I have a stretch 2 in k390 and I think I’m gonna patina it like yours, plus I want two more Spydercos… I own an original 1990 endura with AUS-8 it was my dads (God rest his soul) but it a keep sake, I love that knife but I want k390 so I’m leaning towards the endura …either warncliffe or drop…I haven’t decided yet. I’d also like a cru-carta PM2.
I juat ordered the endura k390 wharncliffe yesterday and brother picked up the crucarta pm2 yesterday too lol. Good options for sure. I have the k390 wharncliffe delica and endela too. Both great

@lymedog3176 lmao i was just looking at the crucarta manix 2 😅. Its on my short list. I wish i had snagged the 15v one but i really enjoy cruwear. Have the manix 2 xl crucarta in pocket now. Let me know how you like the crucarta manix when you get it in. I had some gift cards accrued that would get me close to the manix 2 crucarta lol. Great minds ... or ... perhaps spydiebitten minds
I carry an Endura 4 VG10 with Zome dyed scales, a 5X5 wave, a deep carry MMX Gear deep carry titanium clip, and a signet ring from Wiseman co.. So it's basically a karambit that's FFG!
I feel ya, bro... had multiple Enduras and Benchmades stolen... Even better knives considered, I've always gone back to an Endureaever since they came out!
It might be up your alley if you prefer a saber grind on your edc knife, but to my eye (and this is just me) it kind of looked ugly. 🤣I'm weird like that. I'm sure the wave feature works fine though...
The wave version is an excellent choice of you like the wave feature in general. I keep a zip tie on many of my spyderco's, but there's always one on the Endura. This is a knife that deploys fantastic with a wave and almost feels too traditional to me without it... Having the wave makes deployment super efficient and therefore a top choice for work and or self defense. Be warned, that you may have to loctite the pivot every once in a blue, as the wave deployment puts some extra stress on the lockbar with that smack open during deployment and this will loosen a pivot and wear the knife a little faster than it normally would otherwise.
The Endura also used to be my favorite. But these days, I opt for the Cold Steel Recon 1 or Voyager. To me the Voyager has many of the same qualities as the Endura, but with added strenght. Especially the Clip Point version. Although I carry the Tanto more.
@5MinuteKnives it is worth every penny. I got one of the older ones with the rasp-like G10. Never really carried it, because it was difficult in and out of pocket. Then, at some stage, they changed to less aggressive G10. Now I own 5 Recons. The Code 4 is also pretty good. I still love my Endura. My wife got it for me when we were still dating. Had it in my pocket on my wedding and took it along on Honeymoon, so it has good memories attached to it. I think it is a timeless model. If they could just swop the VG10 for 14C28N on the cheaper models, it would be a great update.
There isn't any maintenance at all, at worst it gets a patina and minor black surface rust. I have a reground endela at sub 10 thou behind the edge and it still has a ton of toughness for a pocket knife. I dropped it on the ceramic tile the other day and only had minor edge rolling that was easily sharpened out.

The native chief is definitely a nice knife. Quite a bit bigger though 👍🏻
