You go Jane! I’ve had a horrific week and have eaten 9 scones, a whole bag of BBQ potato chips, 3 bowls of ice cream, an entire package of cookies, and 3 candy bars. And that was in the first 24 hrs. Thank you both for a little levity and an escape from the moment.
Oh I'm sorry to hear that 😞 hope things improve and next week's better. Hang in there. We positively roll out of Harry at the end of a trip - I need resuscitating 😂😂😂😂 we start off with good intentions 🤦♀️ jane
That gorgeous spot you parked up on , was on my grandparents land . I spent all my childhood holidays on that beach - Port na Ling . I always thought it was the most beautiful place on earth and your video certainly does it justice .
Gosh lucky you ! Its like heaven on earth isn't it and so pleased we got a glimpse of it. Theres about 4 places that will live in my head forever as very special places and all of them are in Ireland. Thanks for watching and commenting ☺️ jane
Another great episode. Beautiful park up by the beach. The waves coming up between the rocks were a bit disconcerting. The pasta dish cooked in the Hytric looked yummy 😋😄 x
Glad you enjoyed it - the parkup being so remote is always a winner for us as it’s like your own private spot Pasta great but we’re weighing food from now on to reduce portion size
Am really enjoying your Irish trip. Have great admiration for your sheer Pluck in tackling the West of Ireland in January, but, I would imagine that was part of the Fun. Fair Play to you both, as we say in Ireland. Looking forward to future videos.
You really notice all the white bungalows dotted around the landscape, especially in Donegal, etc. I suppose the main reason is because there are relatively few trees, and whitewashed cottages are the traditional style of dwelling. The other reason is a book published in the 1980s called Bungalow Bliss. Published by an architect, it had a hundred or so bungalow designs, and was a best seller. You could pick the one you liked and buy a set of Architectural plans from the authors firm, and get a Planner to do your site map before applying for planning permission from your County Council. Usually much cheaper than getting an Architect to do everything from scratch. Derided by many nowadays, but it was greatly appreciated by people trying to get their first house built back then.
We is that’s really interesting and explains a lot and helps cheaper builder guess with plans already created Thanks for watching and above sharing your knowledge
Lovely Park up. We use the collapsable containers. Got loads of different sizes. Handy as a sandwich box as you can collapse them down smaller when finished. Easier to fit back in your rucksack after! 😁
Lovely vlog guys 😘 Love old Frieries shame that don’t serve Chips ehh 🤣 I would love to have a go on those traps on the beach through the surf 🐎🐎 ATB Both xx 👊🦋👍🚐🐾😘
@getawaygeese Ty for the reply. Sorry to pick you up on the spelling of it. Your videos are fab..I feel like a getaway goose myself when I watch them...a lovely escape from the world 👍
When camping I’ve used a small slow cooker firstly to make thing’s from scratch but if weather miserably have bought ready meals such as lasagne, Chicken in mushroom sauce just put in slow cooker to reheat, you can also do jacket potatoes in a slow cooker.
Thanks And we can’t blooming remember as we would buy more Found this but not bought them yet www.etsy.com/uk/listing/879846078/7g10ml-stacking-jar-pot-clear-plastic
Any place in Ireland with it's place name starting with Cill or Kill is connected with a church of some sort. Kill being Irish for church. Same with Rath, which is Irish for Island. It may describe a man made small island on a lake ( more correctly called a Crannog).
@getawaygeese There are perhaps 30 of 40 words with together make up the bulk of Irish place names. Drum is Irish for "hill" , Derry ( daoire) is Irish for Oak etc. Most current names are phoenic anglisations of how the place name sounds in Irish.
@@getawaygeese I totally understand, you might notice that Irish people don't pronounce "th" too well, that is because there is no "th" sound in the Irish language (Gaelige). We speak hiberno english. You might hear us say "turdy tree" for 33, lol! That Hytric cook pot looks interesting.
@smiley9872 aye I feel if I did that someone would pick up on taking the pee lol 😂 Cookout really good as low wattage although it can be a bit fierce on the low setting
Harsh - I quite rightly in the past got picked up for saying "Island " so I do my best to say Ire- land. And to you it sounds like "Eyeland". You have to remember that im from Merseyside and Stews from Dudley so I'm not sure English is even our first language. All I can say is that we try our best ! When I have narrated I actually spend some time trying to get the pronunciation right - I unfortunately sometimes end up with 4 Irish people on You Tube all saying one word different. Jane
