P&IDs (or, in other words, piping and instrument diagrams) are considered as
a key document when designing or upgrading any process plant.
Through the P&ID, we are supposed to be aware of how the plant shall operate. A well-designed P&ID preparation would lead to smooth project execution. In addition, it shall identify main risks.
This would reduce the probability of issues when running the plant.
So after we tried to control the parameter, then we tried to protect the equipment using a shutdown system, let's go through the last layer of protection, which is the pressure safety valve (PSV), which shall open and relieve the fluid to a low pressure system, and reduce the pressure. The relieved fluid shall go to a relief system, such as the flare system. So let's know what these things are and how they are shown on the P&IDs.

    How is SRV compression determined?

Could you elaborate more? There is no compression in a PSV. The sensitivity of the spring is determined by the vendor based on the the PSV set pressure.
