I recommend to take around 5 HE shells in every tank with a gun over 75mm. They can save your life. In some vehicles you can change the HE for HESH or HEAT. You will be happy having them in the vehicle if you see a light armored vehicle.
In the open-top bracket till about 6.0 I recommend HE(AT) for anything past 20 mm. A Puma with HE is an absolute menace to the many allied SPGs going around, as well as SPAAs on tank hunting duty, which now can be reliably be dispatched on the move and any range. Same when fighting Germany, because you can eliminate their powerful SPG with one shot, without having to come out again facing the many powerful guns of that nation.
@@76456 I prefer to take at least 5, in some BRs there are a lot of open top vehicles and cars. And in long ranges (the favourite ranges for tanks as Nashorn) you probably need 1 or 2 shots to know the distance.

I found 15 APFSDS and 2 HEAT to be a good set-up. It fills the blow out, 1 in the hull, one in the chamber and gives you HE capabilities for the (very) rare moments it matters on that BR.
Yeah, good way to start is to take around 40 rounds for a 2 second reload, 35 rounds for a 3 seconds, 30 for 4, and 25-20 for 5-10, depending on ammo racks and vehicle play style
Over 2,200 hours here. My advice for ammo is look at the ammo racks. This can be fine tuned by using the Test Drive so you can visibly see is where your ammo is stored. For instance, my PZ.IV F2 and forward have 37 which is rather high for me. With 22 APCBC, 7 APCR, 5 smoke, and 3 HE. The reason for this is because when I was tuning, the rack placement of shells allowed me to place more. With 37 shells only 3 of its racks store ammo, and the large one allowed me to store more because it wouldn't matter if it got shot there anyway. This will vary DRASTICALLY on which tank you are bringing. So when you are deciding a proper number always try to pay attention to where your ammo is stored. Just keep in mind that this is time consuming, but beneficial in the long run. Still follow all the tips from the video of course, as how much you fire in a game matters a lot, just always keep in mind how your ammo is stored, as avoiding ammo detonations can keep you alive.
@@carsamba0055 the majority of them are outdated(1-3 yrs ago), and i saw that every person has different controls. Like i had more controls than a youtuber and i didnt know what to do with those, or the other way around(they had other controls that i didnt have).
My rule for French vehicles with auto loaders is that I usually go for the lower of those 2 numbers : 3 times the capacity of the ready rack, or 26 rounds max. That’s because for things like the Lorraine, the 7 ammos in the ready rack, and the time it takes to reload them makes it pretty much impossible to reload an entire 2 racks in one game. If I get low on ammo, I’ll try to reload on a point. And if I use something like an amx13 with 12 ammos in the ready rack, going with more than 26 is just to much for very little gains
12:12 I say that if it’s not an auto cannon, 16-26 rounds is best. If you are in and urban map and ammo is vulnerable, especially in the sides, bring 16 rounds. For things with less than 20 ammo max, bring all.
Regarding ammo rack filling, I really think the hangar interface needs to be updated. No more trial and error in test drives. We need an option to select our ammunition amounts IN the hangar, and have the x-ray view of the vehicle update as we change it, so we can see exactly where our ammo is being stored. If you really wanted to improve the system, let US choose exactly which racks are filled.
my own rule regarding ammo rack is just to bring enough to fill in one or two or maybe even three racks(depends on the tank and how big their ammo racks are) with the exception of light tanks which is always full, with one or two racks filled with general used ammo, then the last rack filled with either HE or HEAT ammo
In tanks with 1 stage amo I usually take the maximum 1 stage, 1 in the barrel and 1 more in 2nd stage, for example tiger II sla 16 has 22 1st stage so I take 24 rounds as an example, and for small caliber I usually take around 50, and do not forget you shoud have about 90% your best pen round and 10% he, it is the best

Quick question: Why did you stop having the shooting range title and episode number in the title? It was very helpful and I miss it I usually use 20-30 shells for tanks with gun calibers between 50-100mm. for the ammo count: when the tank as a first order rack i only use this one and the rest is around 20 to 30 and i try to put only in the turret and not in the hull
I always take the full first stage ammo. If I do happen to run low on ammo, I add some shells. I always go look in test battle where do these shells get stored. If I don't like the placement I take less
I take into consideration the location of the ammo, i can bring 40 shots on the abrmas at its all in safe ammorack. On the Super sheman or T-34/76, the bullets are all laid on the floor. Sow it doesnt matter how many bullets i have.

To all the players of War Thunder: I believe everyone has noticed the recent changes in the in-game economy, whether it's for naval, ground, air battles, AB, RB, or SB. Gaijin is continuously pushing the boundaries and testing the limits of its players. If you are familiar with the game "Escape from Tarkov," you probably know the consequences when game developers constantly provoke their player base. As players of this game, we contribute to its activity, and in theory, Gaijin should appreciate each and every one of us who continues to support and encourage this game. However, Gaijin keeps pushing the boundaries and exploiting each and every one of us. This recent economic change is not just a simple adjustment; Gaijin is gradually making it clear that if you don't pay for this game, you don't deserve to play it. I implore every player here to bravely stand up and resist this behavior. Gaijin has now infringed upon our rights as players, and we cannot, and should not, let Gaijin continue to exploit us in the future. It is time for us players to unite and stand together. We should be a collective, a class, opposing Gaijin's exploitation and oppression towards us. We are here to enjoy this game, to find joy in it, and we should not be working for Gaijin. I hope that each player will save and spread this message. This post will undoubtedly be deleted, but we should copy it, share it, on any platform, anywhere that allows us to make our voices heard. Fellow warriors, let's fight for our future. Stay strong! If you are willing, you can sign below. We stand as one! -From a player on Earth, Liliya LET'S MAKE THIS A COPY PASTA PLS

Q: Will the Mig-21 Lancer be added in the future for the italian nation?
Oi! are you guys going to bring back the airplane enduring confrontation?
I usually take ~10 rounds more than I typically can shoot in a decent game before getting killed. So typically about 20-27.
Can't wait for that Battleship Triathlon, France and Italy will finally show their true potential
Q: what is the most powerful 20mm cannon shell?
Minegeßose (if I pronounced it correctly) or hispano?
Good try, but it is "Minengeschosse".
Please add submarines ? theyd be kinda like PT boats meta wise just slower but stealthier and submarines can easily be spotted when underwater if you use planes or sonar
17-22 rounds maximum unless it's no armor, unless it's the M18 than it's 16 rounds max
Q: Could you do a thriathlon about the first ever Jet fighters?
Q: what user guided munitions will have a tutorial like the keyboard guided missiles on the f5
Is it normal that technical support has not responded to my request for like... 3 DAYS?! My problem requires 5 minutes of time, but it is not even considered, absurd.
Q: Any plans on adding more south african vehicles ? like the olifant mk1b optimum or the Cheetah.
2nd Try Q: is there a chance you will make older april fools events permanently playable, or at least bring them back for a short amount of time in the future? Need those potato-firing shermans again.
They won't be special events if they were regularly playable...
@@obsidianjane4413 Have you even read what I wrote?
@@crad5476 lol did you?
@@obsidianjane4413 So you admit you did not... Then please refrain from commenting on something you know nothing about. Keeps you from getting laughed at.

Take your pills little boy.
Q: can you do a triathlon on top spaa systems?
Q: Are we going to get more Drop tanks form more Jets?
i usualy have enough room left for 69 bullets and suprisingly it always works
Imagine if they put as much effort into making those videos as in fixing the issues existing in the game
There is a lot of talking about tank shells or rocketson this channel, but how about talking about different AAMs and their performances?
Looks like the APC from GTAV with those white walls.
Q: why is the b29 placed at 7.3 it is placed higer than some german jetbombers and is equaly effective as tje ju288
the JU288 has over 6 tons of bombs?? since when?????
when the shooting range 3.0 is coming?
also why you are not writing the episode number in the title?
If you dont take full load of ammo you expect to get kiled, thats the wrong attitude
Q: Can we ever hope to see the French Rafale as a top tier jet?
To all the players of War Thunder:
I believe everyone has noticed the recent changes in the in-game economy, whether it's for naval, ground, air battles, AB, RB, or SB.

When we get The Polish Tech tree I think it would be a nice Tech tree with different Tanks and Planes?
why have you stopped giving numbers and the Shooting range title? BRING IT BACK!!!!
Q: why cant the MEPHISTO have fire on the move despite being equiped with a two plane stabiliser?
It isn’t in game tho.
It actually lacks the stabilizer, mechanized turret rotation (right now it’s considered hand cranked) and fire on the move capabilities, as well as HOT 3s compared to its real counterpart
Q: will you ever add the ASM-N-2 bat to the privateer? it was used in combat after all
Gaijin, please add the upcoming F14B to the UK tech tree, it really needs it😶
major participants for a battleship triathlon? HMMMMM!!!
Bismarck intensifies
I always go 15 for every tank, it's enough that I die before I use them or we have a safe point to fill up
I know that we recently got the 12000lb bomb for Britain but, is there a possibility of adding the ‘grand slam’ 22000lb bomb for Britain aswell?
Will you add the KA52's ejection seat.
Why don,t you guys make a segment about the f84 thunderjet and Thunderstreak
for leos i take 16 rounds. Every round is behind blowup panels
Q: Will fuel tanks be added to older aircraft even though they don't really help?
