I grew up in the UK and we had our versions of these shows, but I have to say I admire Goodson-Todman's uncanny ability to package these games as tight as a drum. Truly a golden age. The hosts were fantastic during this period as well.

Ten minutes in and I'm really loving this show, I'm going to seek out every episode I can find. I guess what I like the most is that solo match was very difficult indeed

@Qunicy Holman No, the 1989 version just flat-out sucked. It was lifeless and dull, and Chuck Henry's hosting style puts him in the same "I'm-just-here-for-the-paycheck" category as David Sparks on Crosswits '86 and All About The Opposite Sex.

About the only thing wrong with this first episode is that the zeroes are not evenly spaced in the $5,000 sign at 18:43.
I would have thought Goodson would have had an issue with that considering the bell had to sound just right on his shows.
I also understand that it's the 70's, but that's a ghastly looking font.
