i guess Im asking randomly but does anybody know a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Toby Houston thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Another great tutorial Shawn. If you head down to a pet store, you can find a plastic flea comb. I bought one a few years ago and love if for working with deer hair. It really helps get the underfur out easily. If you work with it a lot, you can secure it to a desk. I believe Kelly Galloup does something like that. Thanks for another great tutorial.
Thanks man and yeah good idea. Specially for the really small fine work like that. The Walmart come though works really well for larger spinning clumps
if i were a 9 pound brookie right now, not only did i bite the fly but also inadvertently some thumbs and fingers. A great dry fly indeed. thanks for sharing.
Great video as always. I hit the mother load this week since Monday of a total 23 trout caught using that same fly along with my zebra midge at the Pecos.
As you know I am really new to tying flys - What does ‘dry’ fly mean? Dry means the fly always floats or that the fibres used don’t absorb water? If there is a dry fly then is there a wet fly haha? What does a stimulater fly do apposed to other type of flys? Thanks. Craig - Australia
Generally a dry fly refers to a fly that sits on top of the water to mimic an adult bug. Stimulators mimic a specific bug species, different flies are made to mimic different bugs.
I have been pretty busy I keep meaning to check what I used in the video. Most of the time I put the info of materials used in the description section. Please check that. Otherwise you can use any size you want. I’ve used as fine as 16/0 for small ones, and as heavy as 6/0 for larger ones.
Thanks, yeah bucktail brushes sound tough. Lol. Just such stuff fibers. Try using a heavier gage wire and keep it super stiff while twisting, might help...
Great video, I always struggle with hair spinning. I think I’m using too much. I tied three and the last one I went a little lighter on the hair and it didn’t spin.
The hair on the wing? I guess if you use too much it can yeah, but also if you don’t have a small thread base it will spin on the bare hook also. Try a light thread base to place it on, and if your still having trouble, you can cheat and put a super light dot of super glue on the thread base before placing the hair on it. It won’t spin at that point. Also make sure you lock it down tight with some tight enough wraps. Of course too tight and it will cut the hair.
@@McFlyAngler Yeah, when I do the wing. I always cover the hook shank with thread. I think it is a combination of a little too much hair and not enough thread pressure. I will try to superglue trick next time.
Can you send me that link because the fly shop I use in Albuquerque doesn’t carry it. It’s pretty hard to find thing in southern NM and nothing in Artesia Carlsbad and Roswell.
Lol thanks! Yeah hackle isn’t cheap my friend. Probably the most expensive investment in fly tying. To save money just use brown hackle throughout. One cape, dubbing, deer hair, and hooks should run no more than $60-65 with the discount I gave u guys...
Thanks! Yeah if your just starting out maybe steer clear of dry flies that use hackle. Haha. CDC dries are a good one for less expense. But of course you get one hackle neck, it will last you a good long time and a brown should be able to tie a huge range of flies. I use brown hackle for elk hair caddis, many of my catskill style dries, and this stimulator along with a bunch others.
I really appreciate how much info you give about the materials! I wish more fly tying videos did that
Thanks man! Yeah it’s not easy actually to write all that in the description section but, I figure for new tiers it’s important to do so.

@Toby Houston it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my account!

Cool I’ll check there also. All I’ve ever seen are the large flee comb, hopefully I can find a small one.

Haha! Thanks man! I appreciate it. I actually tie these much better now, I look back at some of my earlier tying videos and cringe at times. Haha!
Great video as always. I hit the mother load this week since Monday of a total 23 trout caught using that same fly along with my zebra midge at the Pecos.
Nice!!!
Really nice tie love the shape of that hook !!
Yeah Firehole sticks make some really nice hooks! Thanks man! By the way, your Mets Cape made an appearance... haha
Was thinking that lol
Nice work
Thank you!
My very first dry fly trout was caught on a stimulator. Great fly and nice work showing how to tie it.
Thanks! It’s a good pattern for sure!
Harika bir örnek teşekkür ederim böyle bir video paylaştın için
Thanks for sharing! Great video.
Thank you
I really like the risen hooks what style of hook should I buy to ties this fly with a risen hook.
This one will work. www.risenfly.com/collections/hooks/products/dry-fly-200r
@@McFlyAngler thank you so much

Very good 👍

Great video thanks for your good work
Thank you! :).
And learned 2 things I did not know...Thanks!
Nice, glad to help! If you don’t mind me asking what were those two things?
@@McFlyAngler Using a comb to brush out the deer hair and wrapping between the deer hair on the wings to prevent it from spinning.
Ahhh. Yeah awesomeness. glad I could help!
What size thread are you using?

All 3?
All 3 what? Sorry I don’t understand whatcha mean...
Great video. I just had a total failure in trying to make a buck tail brush. It's in the trash.
Thanks, yeah bucktail brushes sound tough. Lol. Just such stuff fibers. Try using a heavier gage wire and keep it super stiff while twisting, might help...
@@McFlyAngler Not my first failure in 30 years of tying. I did use .006 wire and I do have .009.
Hey it’s impossible to do it perfect every time man. I make mistakes tying all the time

Use a very light amount though, you don’t want to glue your fingers there. Lol!
Have you ever fished in Wyoming?
No unfortunately not
Where did you get your 3 weight fly rod from with case.
It’s a Redington, classic trout. You can get it at any fly shop, if not I’ll send ya an amazon link to it.
Can you send me that link because the fly shop I use in Albuquerque doesn’t carry it. It’s pretty hard to find thing in southern NM and nothing in Artesia Carlsbad and Roswell.
Yeah give me a few minutes when I stop driving I’ll find it for you
OK here is the link for the six piece and in the same link you can probably select the four piece if you wanted. amzn.to/2NKpfbg
Found it on amazon. Thanks for the info.
Well done! Flyartist can thank you for my $130 of materials to make this fly.
