@@anhdunghisinh , so true, haha. In AOE 2 DE we also have got the wololo sound due to the age 1 anniversary (mods gained thorough challenges). To tell you the truth, the wololo sound in aoe 2 kinda becomes annoying when u heard it frequently, and this can happen much more than in aoe 1. What is interesting in aoe 2 about sounds and conversions is the alarm sound that we receive when your units are being converted. That sound is badass!
Something to keep in mind is that all buildings have a default armour of 5, which is why the building HP can be a bit deceiving in AoE1 but AoE1 buildings still do go down faster.
hill advantage in aoe 1: 1) range units do bonus to attack damage from firing from a higher elevation of 50% ( the bonus in aoe II is only 25%), example: a generic improved bowman on a hill or cliff with 4 damage will do 6 damage per successful shot to a lower elevated unit (unlike aoe II , in aoe I the bonus damage is added ONLY to range units - and NOT melee units) Hint for 1: this work for catapults as well as towers ... which makes positioning them on top of hills a good idea. Warning: In aoe 1 melee units do not receive any damage bonus per attack by hitting from a higher elevation (this only works in aoe II) 2) only melee units hitting a unit on a higher elevation will cause 33% less damage per hit in aoe I ( in aoe 2 the value is 25%) ... HOWEVER if a melee unit is hitting a unit on a lower elevation it will NOT cause any bonus damage (in aoe 2 melee damage would cause bonus damage to lower elevated units of 25%) If you do see a melee unit causing bonus damage, do make sure that unit does not have a hidden attribute damage against that particular target, for example Cavalry do 5 bonus true damage vs barracks units(this damage is done regardless of the barracks units armor), as chariots do bonus damage vs priest units.
I remember in jail the computers there at Age of Empires 1 demo game. It made my jail time go buy very easily, very popular to take computer class just to play this game all day. Thanks for the demo.
intro jut like spirit of the law, was my dream make a channel like yours, im glad that u did, save me the effort to put 1 nice channel about aoe1 in yt.
Yeah he kinda inspired me too. I didn't use the intro in newer videos though. I got some comments saying they like it more when I skip straight into the content. What do you think?
Yes. In AoE it doesn't allow you to do that, but in AoE 2 you start with a scout and the scoring system is also different, giving a better overview of what everyone is doing. Also in AoE 2 it is easier to defend your base early on because the tc can be used to kill enemy units. So all in all you can't do it in AoE 2 but you don't really need to.
AoE 1 scores aren't as reliable as in AoE 2, because they are diluted by artefact and ruin scores. So players usually look at the statistics screen to gain info. You could be doing really bad, but still have a good score if you have 1-2 artifacts/ruins.
Great video, very useful. The DE version did bring aoe1 closer to 2 in terms of quality of life features (which made it quite familiar for me after having solely played aoe2 before). But 1 is still a very interesting game for being a bit simpler and set in another era
Also AOE 2 doesn't have wololo
True, too bad it doesn't :(.
it have that sparkle noise though.
AOE 2 can have the wololo sound:

@@ramonantoniolli7379 not to mention we have vululu by MBL :V

Also, Hunters have a 20% chance of missing when they attack.

Great point! I was already aware of this, but did not include it in the video.
AOE Tips while on the topic a video with hidden bonuses and how they work could be a nice idea :)
they have the high ground XD
Dude learn some fucking english, this was so hard to read.
AoE I has better musics and is aesthetically more pleasing.
Yeah, as much as I like both AoE 1 and 2. I enjoy the music of AoE 1 more.
I agree.
That's utterly subjective.
Same.
I mute music and play so i like aoe 2 lot but aoe 1 is also not so bad but i like aoe2 more
AoE I and AoE II Main diference:
Female Villagers

i always skip the intro , yours and spirit's alike. i think is better without
High quality video! Those tips will come in handy for sure
Tim T Thanks a lot man! I appreciate it!
Thanks for the video. Good to know that there are not really aoe1 build orders in the same way as there are aoe2 BOs.
That's right :). Though some principals apply in every game. But the time at which you make what building varies a lot per game.
AoE walls have no gates, at least not in standard game. DE might have them, I don't know.
They don't
Subbed. Good info man
+Thunders gaming Thanks a lot!
AOE1 does have wayponits! It works just like in AOE2 (shift+right click).
I run aoe1 on WIN95 and it works.
This works for units but you can't do it on buildings.
My man just said windows 95 =)))))))
Does AOE1 allow you to see stats midgame? AOE2 doesn't allow you to see how many vils or army the opponent has mid game

AOE Tips it could be interesting to make a video talking about scores. I dont know how does aoe 1 gives u a score or another.
Ty!

@@AOETips The score going up so fast also means rush. In some ways AoE 1 reveals itself without needing for sacrifice units to scout
love your videos

Tomi Lehto Thanks, tried to improve it, glad you noticed! :)
AoE II was my childhood
Great vid!

Aoe 1 has 60 fps and air 2 has 20 fps which are like screenshot moving
Age of Empires I has WOLOLOLO and AoE II how no Wolololo.... Therefore Age of Empires I is BETTER!! XD
Yea, but if you tool rush you're tool
