got to remember my boyhood got into more trouble from my Teachers as I would just skylark looking out the classroom windows planning a new fort or whatever.
Isn’t it awesome how things look dead brown or gray then all of a sudden there’s a bright red berry or a bright yellow flower. God is a awesome artist.
Silas-man of the woods, man of knowage, man of hopes and prayers, and man with some cool old trucks. thanks for drinking the Spiderwort drink.. stay safe.
👍👌👏 2) Please don't forget to pick the prickly pears. Chad Zuber showed how to pick and eat them several times. Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
We have Prickly Pear out here in southern Calif. also. Burn the spines off and the inside of tthe fruit tastes like watermelon except it is almost solid seeds. Eat the whole thing no problem and the pads of the cactus can be sliced and cooked also.
I like these relaxing and informative adventure videos. You do a nice job explaining and bringing attention to things that can be easily overlooked when we don’t take time to slow. Peace
If you enjoy eating wild foods, you have to try cat tail shoots. In the spring pull on the grass like shoots. The white parts are tender and can be eaten raw in a salad or steamed like asparagus.
Hello my EXPLORING friend; I believe you are my young twin from a different Mother!! I am brought back to earlier times when I watch you ENJOYING NATURE!! I Heard An Old Wives Tale ! About this guy in Kansas who runs a Boneyard who spent his spare time eating stuff he found behind his yard. And he didn't poison himself ! Let's keep it that way ! 👊😎👍
Hi Silas , please if if time permits go back with the Tongs and crab some fruit love to see the process, keep on doing how you do it as it is You thanks
Watching this reminded me I spotted a lot of the hen type mushroom out croppings on one of my oak trees in backyard while waking out front...need to check tomorrow. Saw one nice one two years ago but this was a number of large growths.
As far as the prickly pears go, my Mexican friend used to use a pocket knife and cut Them a little bit too shoe Score the edge and the use his pocket knife to stab them and pull them off, he would use a heavy leather glove to hold it and peel it standing right there and eat the fruit out of it. Good stuff
Many many years ago there was a pizza joint called Big Cheese Pizza...one time this buddy of mine ordered one with mushrooms.....he called them SHAD SIDES....
Must chuckle a bit. Haven't seen the video yet. Will watch in a few. But...The vid title (at least here on the Tubage) is "Junkyard "Catch & Cook" Spiderwort Tea! Will it be Delicious or Nasty?" Since I haven't seen the vid yet, I'll go ahead and vote "Nasty" for now. Wait. Nice to see in the comments, however, at least there's SOME credit to "Spiderwort Tea" due in that several are talking about mushrooms and none are talking about spiders...
