Thailand is a motobike country ( more scooters and motos in the streets than cars), so it's quite normal that they can prepare and custom those bikes like crazy... every average thai can repair a bike because they don't have the money to pay a proffesionnal. Often garages are just a place where you can just "rent" the tools but you have to do the repair yourself. I've seen little girls in their school uniform disassembling completely a Honda PCX like if they where playing barbies.
