Dylan’s last album of new songs was 2012’s Tempest, which he followed with three collections of standards: Shadows in the Night, Fallen Angels, and Triplicate. Rough and Rowdy Ways, which is almost certainly named after the 1929 Jimmie Rodgers classic “My Rough and Rowdy Ways,” will be his 39th studio album, landing 57 years after his debut LP. Due for release on June 19th. He'll turn 79 on May 24th.
He's been the soundtrack to my life. Since I was 4 or 5 when other people started covering his songs. Then saw him on Johnny Cash show. Plus a few other musical TV shows. Bob Dylan puts out music 60+ years after getting in the music business and still gets millions of views. He's just as relevant today as he was in the 60's. As it should be. He is a timeless artist, a legend.
We are the first people on Earth to listen a new Bob Dylan song! I'm so happy to live this sensation!!!!!
Matheus Goulart
I certainly agree. Three times this year. I laid down my worried mind and enjoyed living again. I’m so grateful to Bob. He does miracles happen 💕💗💕
Can you believe that of all the eras that have passed and are to come, we have lived at the same moment in time as Bob Dylan? How amazing is that
I just felt a genuine smile come over my face for the first time in months.
I can relate.
Agreed. The genuine smile is a phenomenon that occurs very rarely for me when listening to music, but when it does happen, it's truly a special feeling. This gives me that exact feeling. Especially that first time hearing it... God damn.
It's gonna be the most righteous moment ever when we can watch him sing this live. Go, Bob, go!!
true
Tour starts soon...
@@knockedoutloaded279 I hope not. Dylan shouldn't be touring until the pandemic is over. Highly unlikely it'll be gone by this summer.
@@violaleebluesy -- He's not touring until June. The pandemic's already winding down in most of the country, and it should be pretty much gone by then. There will be a few people who will still say there is danger but most people are ready to get rid of the face masks and social distancing and get back to normal.
@@mikeincalifornia we are still on an upward surge nationwide..Do you really think Bob Dylans body can handle this if he gets infected with this beast? Do you think that you could handle this thing? Look what just happened to poor John Prine! Yes I want to see my hero again this year, but not at the risk of many lives. Please be safe
Bob Dylan's ability to keep his lyrical output so strong is testimony to his position as best of the best, year after year.
Saw Bob in Philly the other night. Fantastic.
First two tracks were already something.
But this, friends, is pure, glorious, and majestic Bob Dylan in full Rock n' Roll mode.
The King is back.
He never left
Those other 2 songs are from 2012. This sounds NEW!
@@Anthony-hu3rj Yes it is very "lively" less monotoneously.
@@Anthony-hu3rj Nnnnnno, they're not! They were recorded with his current lineup, and are - at most - a few months old. They're on the new album.
Paul Little Dylan saidMMF was recorded a few years ago so it could well have been 2012.
Less than five-thousand people have heard this as of now. I am so glad to be one of them.
It had 513 views when I caught it in my subscriptions. Definetley cool
@Simon Nielsen we try, yet we still fail to settle
You are stupid af...
View counts on videos are not updating on real time, lol. Also, did you listen it, that counts, ok, but whats the difference if you were really the 1st or the last view, or hell the 666th, or even better the 69th, man thats all bullshit, 5,000 is not even special, they are a LOT of people, just try to count from 1-5,000, you'll get bored...
So I guess being the first on the moon means nothing because Neil wasn’t the last. It’s cool because this song and it’s view count will keep growing and it’s nice to be one of the first.
Verse 1}
Another day that don't end
Another ship goin' out
Another day of anger, bitterness, and doubt
I know how it happened
I saw it begin
I opened my heart to the world and the world came in
{Verse 2}
Hello Mary Lou
Hello Miss Pearl
My fleet-footed guides from the underworld
No stars in the sky shine brighter than you
You girls mean business and I do too
{Verse 3}
Well I'm the enemy of treason
Enemy of strife
Enemy of the unlived meaningless life
I ain't no false prophet
I just know what i know
I go where only the lonely can go
{Verse 4}
I'm first among equals
Second to none
Last of the best
You can bury the rest
Bury 'em naked with their silver and gold
Put them six feet under and pray for their souls
{Verse 5}
What are you lookin' at
There's nothing to see
Just a cool breeze that's encircling me
Let's go for a walk in the garden
So far and so wide
We can sit in the shade by the fountain-side
{Verse 6}
I search the world over
For the Holy Grail
I sing songs of love
I sing songs of betrayal
Don't care what I drink
Don't care what i eat
I climbed the mountains of swords on my bare feet
{Verse 7}
You don't know me darlin'
You never would guess
I'm nothing like my ghostly appearance would suggest
I ain't no false prophet
I just said what I said
I'm just here to bring vengeance on somebody's head
{Verse 8}
Put out your hand
There's nothing to hold
Open your mouth
I'll stuff it with gold
Oh you poor devil look up if you will
The city of God is there on the hill
{Verse 9}
Hello stranger
A long goodbye
You ruled the land
But so do I
You lost your mule
You got a poison brain
I'll marry you to a ball and chain
{Verse 10}
You know darlin'
The kind of life that I live
When your smile meets my smile something's got to give
I ain't no false prophet
No I'm nobody's bride
Can't remember when I was born
And I forgot when I died

Who would have thought that Dylan would have pure blues (southern blues at that) song and would knock you off your feet? One thing about Dylan, he continues to evolve and is not stuck in the past as other artist. And why would he when he can create music with fresh, incredible lyrics and themes like Rough and Rowdy Ways. Can't wait for his next album!

He has spoken to my heart and soul long before I could really even understand the depth of what he was writing about.
We are so blessed to have had the magical bard's insights all these years.
Thanks Bob.
