Hi uh... I have followed you on TikTok and I think your songs are really cool. I listen to them everyday and night when I go to bed and when I go to school
As a indigenous person of North America born in the 1990's, this was my first Disney movie to see other indigenous people in film, this movie is a hot potato when it comes to debates, and a lot of indigenous people cannot stand this movie for their own reasons but, personally for me, Pocahontas will always have a special place in my heart, and I would like to say Thank You Peyton for covering this song, and doing such an amazing video for it too.
Me too. I'm not native American, but I can see my people relating to the movie; white people come to "discover" and conquer what was already claimed. Pocahontas and Moana are the two manmaga'haga (daughter of the chiefs) that my Chamorro manggafa (family) could relate to. Asaina ha guiaya hao 😇
Hell yeah I feel it my mom said we were black foot but she was adopted early like I think 1-2 years and we don't know her real origins but I've always been connected with this song plus having turquoise as a birthstone kinda makes me wonder how close am I really to the Blackfoot but I'll say this it'll always hold a special place in my heart due to the reasons behind the song it's straight beautiful 😇👍😎
I’m Cherokee Indian and Norwegian by decent, and Peyton fellow, you hit me every time with such beauty and finesse in many of your songs, I just love what you do!!! I hope you do many many more, your voice covers so many of these songs with just a uniquely powerful mood for each song!!! ❤ Keep up the great work!!! 💪🏻🎸 Thank you for rockifiing one of my absolute favorites!!!
Lyrics 💕 You think you own whatever land you land on The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim But I know every rock and tree and creature Has a life, has a spirit, has a name You think the only people who are people Are the people who look and think like you But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger You'll learn things you never knew you never knew Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? Come the hidden pine trails of the forest An taste the sun sweet berries of the Earth Come roll in all the riches all around you And for once, never wonder what they're worth The rainstorm and the river are my brothers The heron and the otter are my friends And we are all connected to each other In a circle, in a hoop that never ends Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned? Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? Can you paint with all the colors of the wind? How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know You'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon For whether we are white or copper-skinned We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains We need to paint with all the colors of the wind You can own the Earth and still All you'll own is Earth until You can paint with all the colors of the wind
Ah the sentimental mush Disney built its empire upon before falling to the "woke" brainrot and turning into another money laundering scheme. Our culture sacrificed all those Noble Savage blessings for symphony orchestras, radio telescopes, warm running water, sanitation, toilet paper, not being eaten by wolves and bears, not being killed by rivaling tribes, telescopes, computers, refrigerators, and antibiotics. I wonder what the barbarians currently overrunning our culture would answer to those questions. By contrast, neither do I wonder nor do I care what the sheltered snowflakes falling for said sentimental mush would have to say.
You know I’ve never actually heard the original, pochahontas was not one of the ones we had as children and I haven’t watched it as an adult I have heard rock covers of several songs though
Lyrics are still so true!! Look after nature we need it it doesn't need us. We're so lucky and so blessed. No matter our gender, sexuality or colour we all bleed the same. We're all one life. Does anyone stop to admire the moon anymore? I'm only 31 I still do. I grew up on nature never felt more free exploring the earth.
Pocahontas has always been one of my favorite Disney movies, and when I hear this cover my mind can't help but go to the thought that this is what the song would sound like if one of the warriors had sung it 🍃❤️
I used to sing this to my son every night as a newborn. He still asks for me to sing this to him and he's 5 yr old. Can't wait to play this for him and see his reaction. He loves rock music like his mama and daddy. This is epic. This is powerful 🔥
My 6 yr old daugther loves him! "Make a man out of you" is on repeat at home, and now we spontant have a full album of amazing renewed childhood memories 🙏🏻
The Native Americans are so beautiful. Whatever the us government does or says, you are precious ❤ with love from a Slavic girl who likes nature as you do :)
I have been obsessed with Colours of the wind. I dont normally like how people turn good songs into rock covers but when I saw this cover I just couldnt stop myself from listening. My mum would sing this to me as a kid. Cant wait to show her this!
OUTSTANDING! A shout out to your excellent back-up! Everything that you perform is a gift to us all! I'm 81. My goal is to reach 90 and see you perform.! Thank God for you!
First time I heard this song was pocahontas, I was filled with joy. You have given this song a new life with an awe and rapture that is mind blowing! I love your style of music, it has a rare authenticity of its own
I don’t know who this guy is. I almost scrolled past, then scrolled back up out of nostalgia for my childhood. I did not expect this, this was so good! I didn’t think I could like a male cover of this song as much as I like a particular female cover but this blew me away. I love the rock twist. I’m about to listen to this song again. Also, these lyrics are beautiful and make me feel connected with nature and my own partially native roots.
OUT-OF-THIS GALAXY! A shout out to your excellent back-up! Mr. Parrish, I am an 81 year old grandmother, PLEASE have a concert in the San Francisco area!
You made this song ten times better. Body language and everything!!! Don’t stop what you are doing. You bring so much emotion to the songs you sing and it’s incredible. Your vocal tones are insane. ❤
Hello Peyton Parrish, I do not know if you and your group are seeing these comments directly but I'll post it anyway hoping so. I want you to know that this entire video: your voice, the harmony and energy of all the group toghether, and that beautifull place you chose as a background, moved me tonight in a way I couldn't imagine. I listened to it like 5 times, tearing up. I've been going through a lot in the past year and I truely beleive that this song healed me of something tonight or at least put a nice bandaid on my heart 💝. For that I thank all of the team that worked for this wonderfull video. Thank you, thank you Thank you 💖
BEAUTIFUL. A shout out to your excellent back-up! Thank you for including the lyrics. EVERYTHING that you perform is a gift to the world! BRAVO! Thank you!
I am a descendent of Motoka (Pocohontas) Robecka Rolfe. She would be extremely proud of this rendition of this song. You took this song and reclaimed it's honor, thank you.
Hmm. Interesting outlook. Not exactly sure how you even “paint” any of that in your mind. She was probably actually extremely confused as to why we romanticized what happened to her!
Absolutely impacting are these songs specially when they are converted to what you like. Rock Disney with Perishs voice is absolutely amazing they strike the heart with a mighty blow
Best. Cover. EVER. And I'm willing to fight someone over it 👀😆🤣 in all seriousness, though, this genuinely gave me shivers! As much as I've loved the original since I was 7 years old, the new life you've breathed into this song speaks to a part of my soul which has been left forgotten and untouched for over 20 years. I teared up towards the end there; the message, the music, your voice, it's so powerful, how can one not be moved by it...? Especially after the last 5 years in our country, anyway, we sure could use this message now more than ever... I hope this brings together even more people who's hearts might be touched in the same way mine was/is. The production value in this music video is impeccable, too, by the way! Dunno what your budget was, but if it's a shoestring budget, then you especially deserve all the praise for such hard work! Stunningly beautiful, your team sure picked a perfect spot and time to film! You and the band have such wonderful energy, it makes me so happy to see musicians with such passion for the craft!!! You took this song and really did a fantastic job of making it your own, while keeping the elements of the song that made it so stirring to begin with! Your stage presence, as always, was utterly captivating, Peyton ❤️ You're a hell of a dynamic frontman! I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to buy this album as a hard copy, I'll cherish is forever and ever!!! 🙏😊🖤
Colors of the Wind is my favorite Disney song (Closely followed by Hellfire) Thank you for this amazing cover! Visuals, tone and of course audio are all splendidly done!
Never get tired of your voice, the power and the way you move when you sing, you're such a talented man. Keep doing what you are doing, you make the world a better place.
I love to see how much joy it brings you to sing these songs and make videos about them. You and your team always try so hard it's unbelievable. I love the rock version of disney songs your voice fits so good. Please never stop making music. ♥
Pocahontas was my favorite disney movie as a kid. Thanks for this Peyton I had chills listening to it, though I get chills listening most of your songs. Your voice is just so amazing.
This has always been one of my favorite Disney songs because of the voice of the original singer. Peyton takes it above and beyond! This is absolutely incredible!
I had almost forgotten about the film the original was created for. My parents wouldn't let me watch it as a child. Hearing this now, the lyrics are incredible and you've absolutely blown my mind with the beauty and power of your version of this. Thank you for choosing this to cover. It and you are amazing 💜
This made me cry so much 😭🥺 it is so beautiful and his voice is perfect with it and he is really conveying the pain and hurt that Indigenous people have been through or anyone who has had their land taken from them. I would love to hear this in Elder Futhark and in a Nordic style as well I bet it would sound beautiful ❤️
The first time that I heard you perform this, I thought my husband called me...I'm Linda! OUTSTANDING! I love your unique voice. Mr. Parrish, you area very gifted gentleman and scholar. BRAVO!
What an amazing performance with timeless lyrics! In my eyes this is one of greatest songs which have ever been written and fits perfectly in the here and the now! You did a great job !!!
Thank you so much ❤ it's the first Disneyfilm i rememberde from my childhood. And the first strong female lead in a Disney film. SO special thanks to you, to making it great again. ❤ What a tribute to POCAHONTAS 😊
Los que hemos visto todas las peliculas de Disney sabemos que estas covers son increibles y quien no lo haya vivido no sabe de que habla😍que recuerdos, me encanta en rock versions
A powerful tribute to what Disney once was. Poccahontas wasn't my favorite movie growing up, but the music was top-notch as it was in everything Disney did in that era. There are days I really miss the 80's and 90's.
A shout out to your back-up. Your performance is MAGICAL! Your performance is beautiful and very emotional! Thank you, for the hundreds of hours of bliss that you have given me!
You singing a disney princess song is insane and I adore it. Breaking down stereotypes is so important and the gatekeeping between music genre's is so sad. Nothing stops men from singing 'female typical songs' and nothing stops women from singing 'male typical songs' , which shouldn't even be a concept. It should just be music for anyone who it resonates with. And pocahontas was such a powerful independent idol in the disney franchise for so many girls and boys, I'd love to hear you sing savages. More rock covers!! I hope other genre's aren't afraid to take rock or metal music and give it covers in their genre, it's always fun.
This is one of those songs that would always randomly come into my mind, and I was never mad it did, lol.. and then I saw you did this album, and this was on the list. I've never given such a solid F@#$ YES yell in my life. Dude deserves all the success and praise for the work he puts out. Keep it up, Peyton
Atlantis, Hercules, Lion King, Aladdin, Treasure Planet, Tarzan, Pocahontas; among sooooo many many others. What a time to be born.. 90’s kids had the best tv childhood.
I would really love to see you live and maybe meet you sometime.. your talent is amazing and I hope you keep going because after watching the video of "can you feel the love tonight" it gave me chills because you did that song so well

Yes also just one day out there
Nooo Rollos song, Hellfire? That would be so dark and epiccccc
No not really
Hellfire would be soooo much better than Bells of Notre Dame!
OMG YESS

The progression at 1:14 was made to be performed in epic Scandinavian metal guitar, i am… floored at how beautiful that sounds
Ini terlalu keren dan enak didengar. Sungguh rocker keren yang baru kudengar di abad ini. Sungguh bahagia dqpat melihat kalian. Salam dari indonesia 🙏
Pocahontas was my favorite Disney film as a child, and remains such. This song sent literal chills down my spine. So good. 💜

A BEAUTIFUL and EMOTIONAL Performance. A shout out to your excellent back-up! Thank you, Mr. Parrish.
That voice, the passion, and that band!
YES! Beautiful!
Can u please do cover of Pocahontas savages next

This version just hit me so hard I’m crying. Crying at a rock version of a Disney song. God DAMN.
Atlantis, Hercules, Lion King, Aladdin, Treasure Planet, Tarzan, Pocahontas; among sooooo many many others. What a time to be born.. 90’s kids had the best tv childhood.
