Goldilocks hill-just right | awesome 1st session

- Hi. Found this hill meandering and randomly and it was absolutely perfect. Like the story of the 3 bears: this was not too steep, not too flat, but just right.
It’s cool that it’s about a 24 foot wide (7m) and no cars as well if I go to previous intersection-probably get to 30 mph? So stoked to finding this hill.

I remember years ago when learning to snowboard, an old hand said - remember that speed is your friend, but too much speed is like having a really drunk friend at a party; it can all go sideways very quickly!

That’s a great comparison and thank you. Yes, unfortunately went too fast without control, but glad I slowed it down to learn the necessary skills…and now slowly speeding up. And thank you for the encouragement. 🙇🏻♂️🤘
Looks like your muscle memory is also improving, getting more control.
@@KaikoSean yes-thanks. Still a little nervous my first one(each session), but after that-just repetition. Really focusing on aiming my precarve and working on bringing hips closer to centerline of board, bending back right knee/tuck more, but it’ll happen in time.
Slides are looking good…

Thanks. Something that no one really talks about is what is a good hill? At least for noobs-new to dh. Stoked to have found it. Looking forward to getting my buddy on it, too.
@@cantskate5535 Yeah, it's awesome to learn slides on a straight, wide hill with good pavement and a medium slope grade. Bonus points if there's little traffic.
You have about the right amount of t of speed to bring the board back under you on all slides there.
