Kairi and sora are amazing, they have grown so much! And I'm glad there able to save each other, I know some people see kairi as weak and useless, but I don't see her that way at all, in fact she was very selfless in this game, by trying to protect lea, and by saving soda multiple times. :)

How about in Kingdom Hearts 4 Kairi goes on a quest to save Sora! I mean the first game was about Sora going on a journey to save Riku and Kairi so the next game could be things coming full circle!
The path of Sora's Future Growth:
If Sora is seeing Hercules being prepared to lose his life for Meg, Eugene being ready to sacrifice himself for Rapunzel, and Anna willing to sacrifice herself for Elsa is any indication, it is foreshadowing a critical moment for Sora's growth. When Sora emerges from the Reaper's game victorious, he'll be a wiser, stronger and much more balanced and complete person, having learned that "With great power comes great responsibility," and the true meaning of being a Keyblade Master. Sora will also know how to be a man who will no longer coax through life and indeed become more active in making a better future, not just for the sake of the worlds, but also for his and Kairi's as well. With their destinies now intertwined, Sora must be willing to commit to her and do a far better job of not dying on her or the countless people he befriended.
I believe the Master of Masters could be an adult version of Sora, twisted by his dark experiences and loss, lacking the current Sora's will and heart because that could be a major wake up call for Sora to commit to his growth for Kairi and everyone he holds dear.
Not only that, this, in turn, will help Kairi grow as well, regarding being a capable young woman, a princess of heart and as a Keyblade Wielder. In a way, she can be just as reckless as Sora, which I feel they need to work on together.

Very possible. I felt that her seeming weakness here was partly Nomura cramming too much in, and also jusf that Yensid tried to essentially put a 17 year old girl through a month of boot camp before sending her off to war. Make no mistake, this is war.
I'm glad Kairi played a bigger role in this game than the others. Though I do wish Kairi was more active throughout the series.
If she was more apart of the story, she would have had a far greater character development,
When xehanort finally kills her, I think it would have made that moment much more heartbreaking.

@@hufflepuffler2575 Necro, but OP's spitting facts here. Kairi's pretty much the only person who actually made a solid contribution of her own in 3 excluding Sora, Vexen/Zexion, and Repliku. The rest are either jobbing or getting saved, really (until Re:Mind gave them a bit to eat). But yeah, that bit's still frustrating.

Hearing The Happiness From Sora's Voice As He Head's Back To The Keyblade Graveyard And See's His Girlfriend Kairi Floating Infront Of Him Alive And Safe While He Float's Over To Her Happily Grabbing Her Hand's And The Both Of Them Head Back To The Keyblade Graveyard Together.
Sora Telling Kairi That She Was The One Who Was Not Letting Him Die And Saved Him From Fading Into The Darkness Then He Confesses To Her That He Feels Strong And Happy With Her As She Blushes And Lovingly Hold's Sora's Hand While Sora Realizes That He's Falling In Love With Kairi And Remember's His Past Adventure's With The Friend's He Made And Realize's That Kairi Saved Him Because Of Her Love For Sora And The Friendship They Both Have Had Throughout Thier Lives Since They Were Children.
Then She Tells Sora That He Will Always Be Safe With Her Just Like She Promised When They Both Sat On Of The Pauopu Tree And Made Thier Destinies Intertwined By Sharing The Fruit Before Battling Xemnas And Master Xehanort,
Helping Him Up When They Finally Make It Back To The Keyblade Graveyard, Reuniting With Thier Friend's And Going Back To Where Everyone Fought The Orginazation Before Everything Happened.

The very sad part of this scene was Kairi’s theme plus the previous flashbacks Sora had of the Disney characters having their share of reuniting with their love life.

You know I really love kairi but goodness this felt forced. I wish she became more independent and stronger. Their love for eachother as friends is understandable but this scene, where they get crushes on eachother and realise their love feels really rushed. On one hand she helped save sora and the others, but on the other she was very unreliable when fighting and gave xehanort what he wanted. When i watched the scene where kairi says she wants to become stronger I thought she would be in the game ALOT, but she only really only showed up at the end. I think what should have happened is that kairi should have grown to be a stronger, more independent character while also having her friendship with sora improve while she was training. So that in the end game she wouldn't be a damsel in distress but a person sora could rely on to help in battle while also loving eachother.
I wouldn't say forced so much as just handled with less build-up. We all know well and good that they have had feelings for each other since kingdom hearts 1, so this isn't really forced on any of us. If I had to guess, it'll be fleshed out in the next saga. Or it may not and it may just jump to them having a family lol.

@@whattheheckification Well to be fair, while playing Kingdom Hearts 1, we all knew Sora was in love with Kairi because he drew himself sharing the paopu fruit with Kairi at the beginning of the game. It wasn't until Kairi, at the end of the game, found the drawing and that was when she began to realize her feelings for Sora (hence why she cried after seeing the picture) and she drew herself sharing the paopu fruit back with Sora. I guess you could say writing romances isn't Nomura's strong suit. But regardless if he's good or bad at writing romances, we all still love Sora and Kairi being together.
Kairi not being a bigger help does make sense because unlike the other characters, Kairi doesn't have actual fight experience. sure, she might be a skilled warrior at this point, but that doesn't mean she's seen the reality of battle
even in 2, Kairi hasn't fought half as many enemies as she did in 3
I don't really get this part of the game, when everyone is suppose to "die", Sora saves all of them but Kairi, and she ends up saving him. They return to the exact same place, just a few moments before as if nothing happened, no one seems to remember what happened before they "died", not even Sora, that's why Ventus still goes after the possessed Terra.... The scene plays exactly the same as before, until Lingering Will makes his entrance, and Ephemera helps Sora, like that was the way it was supposed to be...

This the most they've ever talked and the emotions shine throw after so many years but why the heck did Sora get put through all this anguish of not believing that they're (Kairi & friends) always there for him even when they're physically not!! Unlimited Keyblade works
In English, the lines are changed so much to emphasize romantic emotions. They changed it so much that it pushes aside Kairi’s character growth. In Japanese, it emphasizes a much more platonic/friend vibe that fits, in MY opinion, so much better.
Its still nomura who chose these lines so i do believe he intended for them to be a couple the scene alone without words shows romantic emotions.

And on day 2 of our knowing them Sora gets visibly angry when discussing sharing a Paopu with Kairi. Also Riku burns him out about asking for one before, which Sora plays off.
