Marin got shafted so badly in the anime. In the manga she only looses one fight but the animators decided to have fun with her and put her in as many filler combats as they could, and she was completely hummilliated in all of them. Sometimes even against regular footsoldiers. 🥲
I grew up watching this in Portuguese, in Brazil. Now that I live out of Brazil and My son (9) speaks basically just In English I was looking where t watch it just in English.
Because of crappy-ass censorship. That’s why. Besides, Why TF would they mark the DIC Dub, as for kids, anyway? "Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac" is rated “T” for Teen, and marketed towards teen boys - ages 13 and up. They don’t understand the Japanese term, "Shonen", anyway, back in the day, just like how 4Kids did with two edited dubs of two Shonen Jump hits, namely: "Yu-Gi-Oh!" and "One Piece". (In which, OP was the absolute worst dub 4KidsTV had ever made, in their FoxBox TV anthology.) Inexcusably-unbelievable, if you’d ask me.
Believe me, I do. Fans do like this type of Dub in this series, but will be disappointed by Netflix's edition (However, they did completed the Original series.). DiC/Cartoon Network's edition may please its viewers on Cartoon Network, but will Infuriate its fans for censorship, script re-writing and poor voice-acting.
Marin is the Eagle Knight because she's always screaming like an Eagle whenever she's getting beat up in a fight. I felt bad she always gets the punching bag treatment.
Tell me about it, man. Just because she’s one part-Knight in Training, one part-Seiya's sister, DOESN'T mean they have to treat her as a slave and a punching bag, like you just said. Just like how Tatsumi treated the Knights of the Zodiac, like horseshit, and only cared for Princess Sienna Kido and Lord Mitsumasa. Call it a "guilty pleasure", if you’d like, cuz I would agree on the same point. It’s just about the characters that bugs me sometimes.
Shaina is much stronger than Marin, it doesn't matter that she doesn't want to fight or that she thinks it was training, it becomes clear that Shina sets a trap for Marin to get revenge on her, Marin is perfectly aware of her conversation, but she can't do anything against Shaina's speed and strength. Marin got a hard beating and Aiolia has to save her.
That’s what this vid is about. It’s like what you said, Shina set a trap against Marin for revenge against Seiya, just because he got accused for "stealing" the Pegasus Cloth. Frankly, that ain’t true. What Seiya said it’s true: He fought Cassios fair-n-square, even if it’s No-Holds-Barred. Oddly, in later episodes, Shina became an ally of Seiya, Eagle Knight Marin and the other Knights of the Zodiac. It somehow didn’t make sense to me, that for a Female Knight of the Zodiac, She must either kill an opponent, or love the opponent, which frankly, was Odd. Real Odd.

Seiya only suspects that Marin is his sister because of what some Silver Saints said, but she actually isn't. At the end of the Hades chapter, Marin finds Seika, who was living near the Sanctuary after losing her memory in an accident while looking for Seiya.
I don't even know how Seiya could even think Marin was his sister, since there wasn't much time between him being taken from the orphanage and being sent to Greece. It definitely wasn't enough time for Seika to become a Silver Saint.
