My Dad worked LAFD 14's for 20 years. He was the tailboard driver on the truck co. 1963-1983. Station 14's was one of the busiest stations in L.A. As a kid, I got to spend the night a few times at the station. Sliding the pole was fun as a kid. Great memories.
Great videos! I love LAFD's firehouses, especially from the 1950's & 1960's. Large buildings with deep apparatus bays, slide poles(3 minimum), & the unique airport hanger slide doors like Station's 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 20, 34, 35, 49, and 50. When Station 4 closed and was regrettably demolished, I would hope they took the original app. bay doors it still had and installed at it's twin Station 60, which has the newer doors, but probably not. In the video LAFD Then & Now, the original doors were still in immaculate condition and could be reused on another LAFD firehouse longing for some old-school doors. I don't like seeing the old stations demolished in favor for new. I saw a video of the guys from Station 15 saying they wished they could have stayed at the old house with all the history & traditions, calling it a real Firehouse, while regarding the new one as simply a Fire Station, such a shame. With tradition being such a big part of the fire service, I never understand why this practice continues. Unless it's a safety issue or beyond reparation, renovation and refurbishment would be the way to go. But when you watch the LAFD Then & Now video I mentioned, old Station 4 was in impeccable condition considering it was built in 1948, and they demolished it!! Unbelievable!! Sorry for the long comment, lol, just my opinion. Keep up the great films!!
90210FireBuff why does Engine 10 have both red lights light that on the front? Normally all the KME's have the both red lights on the outside or either both on the inside. E10 has one on the far outside right and the other on the inside left side?

Emmanuel Anaya The lighting setup on Engine 10 is pretty much the same as the others except the newer ones have two mini lightbars on the side

i am assuming this is a light force station. i see E210 E10 T10. Even though E10 wasn't seen in the video it is stationed at that location right?
