A. L. Minkus - Paquita
Originally a two-act ballet when it was created in 1846, the Paquita we know today is essentially the ballet’s glittering core, the Grand Pas, which was choreographed by Petipa in 1881. Inspired by the flamboyance of Ludwig Minkus’s music, Petipa created a stylistic showpiece, flavoured with a delectable Spanish air.
The ballet takes the form of a series of showy divertissements and is one of the most demanding in the classical repertoire - both the soloists and the corps de ballet have to be brilliant technicians. But with the excellence of their Kirov training to call on, the dancers execute the fiendishly difficult choreography with much élan.
Leading the magnificent ensemble, Yulia Makhalina and Konstantin Zaklinsky, two of the company’s most illustrious stars, shine like diamonds in this masterpiece of exhilarating classical dancing.

That's seriously one of the best (if not THE best) renditions of this variation. Lezhnina was also absolutely stunning as Aurora in "Sleeping Beauty" and Masha/Sugar Plum Fairy in Vainonen's "Nutcracker"

She pulled it off like a champ, but looks like she’s struggling here for whatever reason. Not familiar with this dancer, so possible it could be normal for her, but her shoes look too soft or it seems like she’s struggling to get solidly over on her box due to an injury. Bravo for a still wonderful performance, a true professional.

I wasn't giving dancing advice. If you watch figure skaters you will notice their bottoms match their dress, and their bottoms are covered for 90% of their performance. Latin dancers wear nude bottoms covered as well for 90% of their performance. This dancer has her butt exposed the whole time with rather bulky white panties on, making them look like a diaper, it is visually unattractive and detracts from her remarkable dancing. I think ones derriere is best kept out of the limelight, especially when so much work has gone into clean lines, turns, arms, feet etc. If you like seeing a tutu way up in the air practically inverted, that's you, it's not me, I find it an unpleasant distraction.
